I turned back and went inside, picking up my phone from the nightstand to dial a number. “Is it done?” The other person on the other side of the call confirmed that it was done. I managed to keep my composure and smile as I made my way back to the laptop, but as I did so, I became increasingly aware of the sensation that the world was spinning in front of my eyes. This caused me to trip over my own feet. Fuck!

Even though it is a second-hand car, it can still be sold at its original price because of the material that was used in every part of it. As long as the car was taken care of, it can still be sold. Even though it was owned by a lot of people. And I wanted to take advantage of that in the Anox car. She, at first, thought of ignoring the message until her curiosity got the best of her and she grabbed her phone to see what it was about. She couldn't even bring herself to finish the recording and left it in the middle. A call followed the recording on her phone. She answered it.

I wondered if I just called the wrong number or the guy on the other phone was just being silly. “Oh, maybe I dialed the wrong number, you see the thing is that I was given this number to call the person on the other line of the phone because I needed to buy something that I really wanted and according to her, the owner of this number sells it so…” “Are you aware of the fact that you talk a lot madam, I am aware and I also understand what your talking about but I just wanted to hear it from you” “Hear what from me?” “What are you planning on buying from me?”

The words stab my throat the second they leave my mouth. After the call ends, I return to the couch. The laptop’s still glowing, but I don’t see anything. I stare at my own reflection in the glass. Tara Anasthassia De Carrillo, 25. Architect. Math minor. Independent woman with her own apartment and a decent enough portfolio to pitch to Singapore next year. And still....can’t let go of a man who was never even hers. I set the laptop on the table. Grab the wine. Take another sip.

Tapped on 'call' my hands shook as I placed the phone on my ear. After two rings, the call connected. "Hello?"

I lifted the glass of water in my hand and clinked it lightly against his. “Here’s to a successful partnership, Mr. Caspian.” Moonlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, stretching our shadows across the room. "They're useful... for now." ​She ended the call and immediately picked up a second phone. This time, the caller ID displayed a single name: Camille Shank. The phone rang twice before Camille answered with a hesitant, "Hello?" ​"I have something you'll want to see," the woman said smoothly.

"What would you advise, then? We have been talking to each other for over a few months. You've never hesitated to provide me with your excellent advice." She shrugged to herself. "You sound young. You shouldn't give up all the fish in the sea for one failed catch." The minute the words left her mouth, she realized she had made a blunder. What if the person suspected she wasn't herself, because she had mentioned her assumption based on his voice over the phone? Fortunately, the person failed to capture her error, and then he continued, "Since you say that I shouldn't give up all the fish in the sea, would you be willing to be my fish?"
