    Vanya’s POV

“Spread your legs for your King, Vanya.”

The voice in my head was a low, gravelly command that completely drowned out the history lecture. In the middle of the crowded academy hall, my thighs clamped together hard, an immediate, unbidden wave of heat soaking straight into my underwear. I gripped my pen until my knuckles turned white, forcing my hand to blindly scribble nonsense across the notebook lines just to keep from letting out a visible shiver.

My imagination didn’t do innocent, sweet schoolgirl crushes. It went straight for the lethal, dominant types the ones who looked like they could break a person in half with their bare hands.

And right now, the star of my internal smut-novels was standing right at the front of the auditorium.

Professor Kaelven.

He was the Supreme Lycan running our advanced combat seminars, an absolute beast of a man covered in faint battle scars, with a freezing glare that made the entire student body look like minor inconveniences. He also happened to be my best friend Maya’s older brother. The whole campus gossiped that he was a ruthless, cold machine who was entirely dead down there because he had never selected a mate or shown a flicker of interest in anyone.

But watching the way his tailored shirt strained against his massive shoulders as he wrote on the board, my mind knew better. He didn't ignore females because his body didn't work. He ignored them because none of them were strong enough to survive him.

A sharp nudge to my ribs shattered the illusion instantly.

“If you bite your lip any harder, you’re going to bleed all over your desk,” Maya whispered, leaning across the narrow gap between our seats. Her golden wolf eyes dropped down to my notebook page and narrowed in sheer disbelief.

I looked down. Instead of tracing the timeline of the pack treaties, I had carved the words –Supreme Lycan– over and over again inside a heavily scratched heart.

“Goodness,” Maya muttered, quickly slapping her hand over the page before anyone else could look. “Please tell me you’re plotting an assassination and not actively fantasizing about riding my brother during class.”

“It’s strategy,” I muttered back, tearing the page out with a sharp rip and crumpling it deep into my blazer pocket. “As the Beta's daughter, I need to understand the stamina of our leadership.”

Maya let out a muffled laugh just as the loud chime cut through the room, signaling the end of the final period. “Garrick is already waiting by the main gates, so stop drooling. If my brother catches you staring like that, he’ll double your training laps.”

My brother Garrick hated waiting, and his temper regarding my post-class lingering was practically non-existent. But as I hurried down the West Wing corridor toward the administrative office to drop off my files, a sudden scent hitting the air made my boots stop dead on the floorboards.

It wasn't a normal scent. It was a suffocating, heavy wave of rain-soaked pine, crushing musk, and raw, boiling heat. A Lycan rut.

My pulse spiked violently, drumming straight against my ribs. The door to Kaelven’s private office was standing slightly ajar. My instincts shouted at me to run, but the intense heat radiating from the gap reeled me right back in.

I leaned forward, peering through the tiny opening.

The breath caught instantly in my throat.

Kaelven was alone, his shirt discarded on the floor. His massive, sweat-slicked chest rose and fell in ragged heaves, the thick muscles of his arms trembling with tension. A low, predatory growl vibrated right through the floorboards as his hand moved in heavy, frantic strokes down his towel, handling a thick, massive cock that throbbed with unbridled hunger.

The untouchable, robotic professor was riding out a brutal, feral heat right inside his office.

“Ah…” A breathless, high-pitched gasp slipped past my lips before my brain could stop it.

The sound was tiny, but to a Supreme Lycan, it was an alarm.

Kaelven’s hand froze instantly. His head snapped directly toward the crack in the door. His eyes had completely lost their cool gray color—they were glowing a brilliant, violent gold that locked straight onto my face.

Panic flooded my veins. I scrambled backward, turning to sprint down the hallway, but I didn't even cover an inch.

The door flew open with a deafening crash.

Before a scream could even form in my throat, Kaelven’s large, sweat-slicked hand shot out like lightning, wrapping around my forearm in an unbreakable, iron grip. With one brutal, effortless yank, he ripped me entirely off my feet and hauled me into the sweltering heat of his dark office.

The door slammed shut behind me, the lock clicking into place with a definitive snap. He pinned my back hard against the wood, his towering, half-naked frame pressing completely into mine. I gasped as the massive, burning hardness of his cock locked right against my stomach through my thin uniform skirt.

Those glowing golden eyes burned directly down into mine, his hot, ragged breath brushing against my lips.

“Like what you see, Beta's daughter?” Kaelven growled, his grip tightening until my bones ached. “Because you're not leaving this room until you help me finish.”

The guard shoved me into the center of the hall. I stumbled, nearly losing my footing, with Maya gasping right beside me. The room went dead silent. Every eye in the council hall locked onto me. They looked at me as if I had just set the palace on fire.Garrick stepped forward, his face pale, his hands reaching for me. "Vanya, what are you doing here? You are not supposed to be here."I looked at him, then at the rows of old men sitting at the table. My blood boiled. "And you, Garrick? How can you stand there and look at them? How can you let them debate if our father deserves to live?"One of the elders looked at me, his eyes cold and dismissive. "She is just a child. Do not take her seriously. She knows nothing of the weight we carry.""A child?" I stepped toward the table, ignoring the way Kaelven shifted signaling for me to shut up. "I am the only one in this room who is not acting like a coward! You elders sit here, hiding behind your titles and your dusty traditions, while you d

"I have been locked in my own room for six days."The sun crawls across the floor like it's dragging something heavy behind it. I count the cracks in the stone ceiling until my eyes burn, then I pace — door to window, window to door — until the soles of my feet ache against cold floor. The room smells like dust and old smoke, like something that's been shut up too long. I have started to smell that way too. Every time a guard walks past, the heavy thud of their boots makes my heart jump to my throat. I try to ask them for news about my father, but they act like I am not even there. They look past me, their faces blank and cold.Garrick came by twice. He stood in the doorway both times, said nothing, just looked at me with eyes so tired they'd gone hollow, then turned and left before I could grab his sleeve. Kaelven has not come at all. My stomach churns just thinking about him. That afternoon, I heard voices in the hall. Two maids are scrubbing the walls, their whispers reaching th

"Two weeks, he said, you have been unconscious for two weeks."I grabbed his sleeve, my fingers trembling. "Two... weeks? Where is Dad? Did you find him? i woke up to the sound of screaming. Not a roar, not a growl, but human terror. My head pulsed as if a hammer was smashing against my skull. I pushed myself up, my palms scraping against the rough wood of the platform. The smells like burnt hair. Around me, the arena was in chaos. People were screaming, some falling to their knees, others pointing at me with eyes wide with horror."Vanya, Vanya, answer me."Maya was leaning over me, her face pale, her hands shaking as she grabbed my shoulders. I looked down at my hands. They were trembling, but they were still human. I didn't shift. I was still just me."I didn't..." My voice cracked. "I didn't turn."The silence that followed was agonizing. Everywhere I looked, I saw the disappointment on the faces of the pack elders and the pity in the eyes of the servants who had watched me grow up. People were whispering among themselves, pointing fingers and turning away as if I were something diseased. I stood there, exposed and hollow,

"Let go of her."Garrick didn't release me. He stared Kaelven up and down, his eyes pulsing with rage. "Or what? Your Highness you promised me last time you’d protect my sister. You said you wouldn't allow her to get hurt, but what happened? She was nearly ruined, and you were nowhere to be found. I’m not trusting you with her again. Now, get out of my way.""Garrick, stop," Kaelven said, his voice dropping to a low pitch. "I promise, I’ll keep her safe this time. I’ve already tightened security. Nothing like that will ever happen again.
