WARNING: Contains explicit scenes throughout. Sloane Lewis went from black cards and penthouse suites to a miserable $4.13 checking account balance overnight. Cut off by her wealthy father and facing a looming $8,500 debt to keep a roof over her head, she’s one step away from sleeping on the pavement. Her only comfort? Drooling over hot male cam models she can no longer afford to tip. Then the LUS System unlocks on her phone. The rogue interface turns her socialite charms into cold, hard cash, paying her directly to her bank account whenever she gets wealthy men to cover her tabs and shower her with gifts. One hundred dollars here, two hundred dollars there... Sloane is forced to flirt, hustle, and charm her way through high society just to stay afloat. When the System demands she hunt the ultimate target—38-year-old billionaire CEO Brett Thorne, the ruthless titan who just destroyed her family's empire—the game gets dangerously personal. Brett didn't build a four-billion-dollar empire by being played. But with her independence on the line, Sloane will do whatever it takes to level up.

Chapter 1

CARD DECLINED

The blue-white glare of the laptop screen cast sharp shadows across Sloane’s bedroom, illuminating a discarded silk robe and an empty glass of pinot grigio on the nightstand. It was 2:00 AM, the hour when the rest of the city was either fast asleep or making terrible decisions.

On the screen, a male cam model with dark, tousled hair and an aggressively symmetrical six-pack was adjusting his webcam. He had a lazy, knowing smirk that looked like it had been practiced in front of a mirror for five years.

“Touch yourself for me, baby,” he murmured through the tiny speakers, his voice low and manufactured for maximum intimacy. “Show me how badly you want it.”

Sloane propped her chin in her hand, her lips twitching with amusement. “I think I will, you naughty man,” she muttered to the empty room.

She clicked over to the tip menu, feeling a warm, detached glow of superiority. Tipping a hundred bucks to a guy sitting in a ring light three time zones away was the kind of low-stakes entertainment she excelled at. She typed in her custom tip, hit enter, and leaned back to watch his reaction.

The screen flashed red.

TRANSACTION FAILED. CARD DECLINED.

Sloane blinked. She squinted at the monitor, assuming the Wi-Fi had hiccuped. “Rookie move,” she whispered.

She navigated to her payment settings, deleted the default card, and manually punched in her backup. The one tied to the family account. The endless, bottomless well of capital that her father funded and she never looked twice at. She typed in the numbers, added an extra fifty dollars just to spite the error message, and hit submit.

TRANSACTION FAILED. CARD DECLINED.

Sloane sat up straight, the cozy numbness evaporating. Her stomach gave a sharp, ungraceful twitch. “What?”

She clicked open her banking app on her phone. Her primary checking account screen loaded with a cheerful little greeting: Good morning, Sloane!

Beneath it, the balance stared back at her with brutal clarity: $4.12.

She stared at the numbers. Four dollars and twelve cents. Not four hundred. Not four thousand. Four dollars and twelve cents. Her mind completely stalled out. There had to be a typo, a fraud alert, or a glitch in the matrix.

“Whatever,” she muttered, a nervous edge creeping into her throat. “It’s just some stupid bank security freeze. I’ll call Dad in the morning and he can fix it.”

She slammed the laptop shut and pulled the duvet over her head. Morning would bring a fix.

Morning arrived with the shrill, merciless ringing of her phone at 8:15 AM.

Sloane groaned, swatting blindly at the nightstand until her fingers connected with the screen. She swiped to answer, pressing the phone to her ear with a raspy, sleep-heavy voice. “Dad? Your stupid credit card company thinks I’m a terrorist or something. Fix my cards.”

There was a heavy, deliberate pause on the other end of the line. When her father spoke, his tone wasn’t panicked or apologetic. It was ice-cold and utterly flat.

“Good morning, Sloane,” Arthur Vance said. “Your cards aren’t frozen by fraud.”

Sloane sat up, her eyes snapping open. The fog of sleep vanished entirely. “Then why did they decline? I tried to buy… well, that doesn't matter. Why are they declined?”

“Because you are twenty-one years old, you haven't held a job for more than three weeks, and your mother and I are sick of funding your permanent vacation,” her father said, his voice entirely devoid of warmth. “We’ve looked at your statements, Sloane. You spent three thousand dollars last month on clothes you don’t wear and subscriptions nobody needs.”

“That was a boutique sale!”

“We are done,” he interrupted, cutting her off cleanly. “The allowance is over. The credit cards are permanently canceled.”

Sloane’s breath hitched. The room suddenly felt very small. “You’re... what? You’re joking. How am I supposed to pay for things? How am I supposed to live?”

“That is entirely up to you now,” Arthur said smoothly. “We are honoring the lease on your apartment for three more months. After that, you are on your own. You have ninety days to grow the hell up, figure out how the real world works, and start paying your own way. Consider it a graduation gift.”

Click.

The line went dead.

Sloane lowered the phone slowly from her ear, staring at the blank screen as the dial tone hummed a quiet, mocking rhythm. Four dollars and twelve cents. Three months of rent. And zero idea how to make a single dime.

"Okay. Don't panic. People make money on the internet every day," Sloane muttered an hour later, pacing back and forth on her plush velvet rug. "Freelance consulting? No, I don't have skills. Selling clothes? All my designer dresses are at the dry cleaner, and I can't afford to pick them up."

She sat heavily on the sofa, downloaded a highly-rated rewards app, set up an account, and clicked on her first task: Answer a 15-minute consumer lifestyle questionnaire!

Sloane squinted at the screen, tapping furiously through forty-two questions about her laundry detergent preferences and grocery habits. When the screen finally loaded her reward, a tiny green pop-up flashed:

CONGRATULATIONS! YOU EARNED: $0.13

"Thirteen cents?!" Sloane threw her head back against the sofa cushions, groaning in pure disbelief. "A dime and three pennies for fifteen minutes of my life? I'd have to work twenty-four hours a day for a week just to buy a salad!"

Frustrated, she deleted the app, her thumb flying across the glass screen in a wave of pure irritation. "Fine. I’m an attractive, educated woman. Wealthy men drop money on pretty girls every single second. How hard can it be?"

She typed ‘fast cash high net worth’ into her browser, half-expecting to find an exclusive match-making service. Instead, as she scrolled past dozens of useless articles, her screen suddenly flickered black.

A loud, flashy banner ad invaded her display, styled in tacky glittering gold and bold red text:

[ HOT WOMEN WANTED: UNLIMITED CASH FLOW ]

Are you attractive, ambitious, and ready to be paid what you’re worth?

No experience necessary. Instant payouts.

[ APPLY NOW ]

Sloane’s stomach dropped. She recoiled slightly, holding the phone away from her face.

"Absolutely not," she scoffed, her upper lip curling. "I am not becoming an escort on some shady, back-alley website."

She reached to close the tab, but as her thumb hovered over the screen, her gaze flicked to the top corner of her bank app notification: $4.12.

Her pride took a sharp, painful hit. Maybe it’s just a high-end promo gig? Or a brand ambassador thing? She rationalized desperately. I’ll just look at the terms. The second it asks for anything weird, I’m deleting it.

Bracing herself, she tapped APPLY NOW.

Instead of taking her to an intake form or a shady chatroom, the app hijacked her entire phone. The glowing banner dissolved into a sleek, obsidian interface decorated with thin, pulsing lines of gold light.

Before she could hit her home button, her front camera flashed once and a bright, warm beam scanning her face. The phone vibrated violently in her palm, a rich cash-register cha-ching echoing through her silent apartment.

Sloane blinked, her heart pounding against her ribs. She looked around her empty living room, half-expecting a hidden camera crew to pop out. "Wait... what? 50% return? What is this?"

Her phone chimed again, popping up a bright red, aggressive countdown timer.
