Chapter Eleven: Cousin’s Hidden Desire

Lily drove to the long gravel road to the big old family house in Virginia. 

At 22 years old, she felt worn out and empty inside because the city had been tough and she lost her job at the art gallery, her friends had moved on, and she still hadn't found anyone special. 

She was still a virgin, and that made her feel even more alone, like she was missing out on something everyone else had already experienced.

Her mom had begged her to come home for the summer family reunion. "It'll be good for you," she said. So here Lily was, pulling up to the big white house covered in green vines and old memories.

The backyard party was already going strong when she arrived. Strings of lights hung from the trees and the smell of grilled food and sweet drinks filled the warm night air.

Family members hugged her tight. Aunts asked too many questions about her life and if she had a boyfriend yet,she smiled and nodded, holding a cold glass of pink wine to calm her nerves,the wine helped loosen the tight knot in her chest.

Then she spotted him across the yard, and her heart skipped.

Damon stood by the stone fire pit, talking and laughing with some cousins. He was 32 now, tall and strong from all the building work he did fixing up old houses,his dark hair looked messy in a nice way, and his white shirt showed off his solid arms,when he laughed, it was a deep, warm sound that made something stir inside her.

Their eyes met then he smiled slow and easy. "Lily-pad!" he called out, using the old nickname from when they were kids. He put down his drink and walked over to her with that confident step.

She felt her face get warm. "Damon. It's been a while."

He pulled her into a big hug right away,his arms felt strong around her and one hand rested on her lower back, the other on her shoulder,he smelled like fresh air, wood, and a bit of his drink. Their hug lasted just a little longer than normal for family,when he stepped back, his fingers brushed softly down her arm, sending a warm shiver through her whole body.

"You look beautiful," he said quietly, his eyes moving over her simple summer dress. "But you also look tired. City life beat you up, huh?"

Lily let out a small laugh,the wine made her speak more freely. "Yeah, it did. Lost my job and feel like I don't know where I belong anymore. I came back hoping to feel... normal again."

They walked away from the noisy crowd together, his hand lightly on her back to guide her toward the quiet willow trees at the edge of the yard every step, their arms touched,when she tripped on a rock, he caught her hip with his hand, holding her steady and his touch felt warm and strong, and it made her skin tingle in a way she didn't expect.

"Careful," he said with a soft laugh. "Can't let my favorite cousin get hurt on her first night back."

They talked easily under the hanging willow branches while he told her about fixing up an old house by the river,she told him how empty her life felt lately. 

He listened like he really cared, his thumb rubbing gentle circles on her bare arm,the night air felt thicker between them while fireflies blinked around them like tiny lights.

"You're not broken, Lily," he said, turning to face her,his voice was low. "You're just starting to figure out what you really want."

He lifted her chin with one finger,their faces were so close that she could see the warm color in his eyes and feel his breath. 

Her heart pounded hard and her nipples got tight under her dress, and she felt a strange wetness starting between her legs. For a second, she thought he might kiss her,she wanted it even though she knew it was wrong.

But he only brushed his thumb across her bottom lip, slow and soft, then stepped back with a little smile. "We better go back before people start talking."

The rest of the night was full of secret little moments,at the big dinner table, he sat right next to her while his leg pressed warm and firm against hers under the table.

Every time she moved, she felt it and when she reached for food, his hand covered hers for a few extra seconds. Later, during the fireworks, he stood behind her,his chest touched her back, and he whispered close to her ear, "You feel this too, right?"

She didn't answer, but her body did,her heart raced and that warm, wet feeling between her thighs grew stronger.

When the party finally ended and everyone went to bed, Lily went up to her old childhood room,rhe same blue walls, the same big bed the she changed into her night clothes and lay down, but sleep didn't come easy and her skin still tingled from all his touches.

The dream came deep in the night.

In the dream, Damon was with her in the bed,his strong hands gently opened her legs. "It's okay, little cousin," he whispered in that deep voice then his mouth moved up her thighs, kissing softly, then his tongue touched her most private spot.

 It felt so good she moaned and grabbed his hair. "You're so wet for me already," dream-Damon said while his finger slid inside her while his tongue licked and sucked,pleasure built up fast until she shook and cried out his name.

Lily woke up suddenly, breathing hard,her hand was between her legs, fingers slippery with her own wetness. She was soaked down there and her body throbbed with need……He's your cousin and my family,this is wrong,she thought, but the shame only made the feeling stronger.

She pressed her fingers harder on her sensitive spot, remembering the dream and his mouth on her, his hands holding her, the thrill of doing something so forbidden.

She came hard, biting her pillow to stay quiet while waves of pleasure washed over her, stronger than anything she'd felt alone before,afterward, guilt hit her like a cold splash of water,tears stung her eyes. What was happening to her?

Down the hall, in his old room, Damon lay awake with a small smile,he had noticed how she trembled when he touched her, how her cheeks flushed, and how she pressed her thighs together.

 This summer was going to change everything.

Lily stared at the ceiling in the dark,she had come home feeling lost and lonely and now something new and dangerous was waking up inside her,she didn't know where it would lead, but she couldn't stop thinking about him.

The summer had just started, and already she felt pulled toward something she knew she shouldn't want.
