It all moved so fast, one minute I was asking him why he was stalking me and the other minute, I somehow found myself in the living room with my grandfather and Sebastian Wolfe. “We are getting married” Sebastian announced confidently and the room fell silent. It was typical of him to always have such power over everyone. His aura commanded everyone’s attention with ease, a fact he was very aware of and loved it about himself. But right now he could only focus on one person in that room, so when he looked at Charles, he saw hostility. I am sure of this because that was what I saw. My grandfather began to chuckle, it was empty and sounded like nails on a chalkboard, which made me more nervous. “Is this some sort of joke?” “No Sir, we were engaged before we lost contact, tell him, Alina” I was too frozen to speak but in the secrecy of my heart I was glad he had used the term “Engaged” instead of “Married”. That would have complicated things more. Everyone was waiting for me to say something. If I didn't affirm, Sebastian would keep to his threats, I knew him too well. “It’s the truth Grandfather,” I said with all the dignity possible. My grandfather's head turned towards me, his eyes dark and murderous like a viper that wants to kill you with one bite, the kind that will leave your corpse bleeding on the ground. “5 years is a long time for someone to change, do you think he is the same man that you once knew?” Of course, Sebastian was the same man right? “Yes grandfather” I lied while trying to stay calm. I hated Sebastian, I hated him so much for putting me in this situation and humiliating me. “Why didn’t you tell us? How long have you been seeing each other?” He asked with narrowed eyes and I felt trapped by those words. Sebastian knew because he answered “Some weeks” Charles Grant didn't say anyone after that he just stared between Sebastian and me. It made me sick to the stomach that I had to lie to him. I was even more sick when I couldn't tell what was going on in his head. Dinner passed by awkwardly, not even Vanessa could say a word. “We need to start the wedding preparation,” Sebastian said once we were outside in front of his Tesla. My heart sank at the sound of his voice. “How Do you expect us to start planning a wedding? ” I was upset. “Can't you read the room? Did you see my grandfather's reaction? Do you still think there would be any wedding? Why are you so bent on ruining my life?” I was getting angry. This whole plan was ridiculous, he knew how much I hated what he was doing. “There will be a wedding, just do as you are told” He replied calmly while taking out his phone from his pocket and checking messages. “As for preparations, I already told them you would help in this one. There is nothing else they could ask of you” Who were they? “Them?” “You'll see” In the next week, Sebastian seemed to have won my grandfather over. The wedding was small at one of his luxurious hotels. It didn't help that I could barely spot any of his family and on my side, it was only Charles Grant. There was no sign of my half-sister, Vanessa. “You may now kiss the bride” The officiant announced with a huge smile and both Sebastian and I stepped forward simultaneously. I was confused by how fast everything was going. “They are going to sense your hesitation” he whispered as he leaned forward. His lips brushed against my lips softly and I shivered slightly. It was then I realized that I was afraid, because of his threat and also because of the weird reaction his lips stirred inside me. I don't know what I expected but his lips were surprisingly soft and warm, not as cold as his heart was. Maybe it wasn't the best way to describe a kiss but I guess it worked for me. I closed my eyes and felt Sebastian warm hands glide across my back slowly as if he wanted to memorize how to touch me. As if he were trying to remember the taste of my mouth. When I opened my eyes again, Sebastian looked completely different. My mind was a whirlwind as we exchanged the rings and my hands trembled uncontrollably, I couldn’t believe we were doing this, again. That same day, I moved into the Wolfe’s mansion. And just like last time, six pairs of eyes waited for and it felt like dèjá vu. The only difference was that I wasn't the scruffy girl I once was. I was still intimidated but I hid it with a blank expression. If Sebastian had held my hands at that moment he would have felt the sweat in them. “You still went ahead to bring this whore back, do you even care about this family's reputation?” Mrs. Wolfe demanded. The older Mrs Wolfe because I was also now a Mrs Wolfe. Her face was flushed red, her fists were balled and her breathing was uneven. She was obviously agitated. “What makes you think you can return with such embarrassment?” “I chose my path already, take it or leave it” Sebastian responded. His tone was icy and detached but I could hear hurt in it too. Maybe I was exaggerating. “Your path is a whore and she…” “Excuse me, Mrs Wolfe. My name is Alina Grant. My pronouns are she/her. But I understand that some people like you are obsessed with my past so sometimes my pronouns are slut, whore, and hoe. But trust me, I understand. This time is different from the last time. I wouldn't stand here and hear it anymore if it weren't for Sebastian. And please forgive him, this has become a habit now” Mrs Wolfe glared at me, looking like she would gladly rip out my throat and spit on my body, but after the short pause, she let out an exasperated sigh and turned around. “Take the bitch wherever you want, I don't want to see her” “You mean to say, Alina. My name is Alina” I corrected with a forced smile. One minute she was in front of me and the other minute her palm collided painfully with my cheek.Sebastian POV“She’s easy on the eyes, cousin”I did not have to turn around to know it was Alex –Al as our mothers liked to call him, who had spoken. In his hand, he held a plate of food piled high. “Whose eyes?” I asked without looking at him.“Come on, it’s hard not to look”“But not impossible, try”He chuckled, recognizing my twisted sense of humor for what it was even though a part of me was serious.I looked away from him just as he picked up another piece of chicken from his plate and took a large bite.It was one of the greatest mysteries of Alex. How did he manage to eat that much and still remain fit. With his inconsistencies at the gym and several social disorders. But I knew how. Which was exactly why I was giving him the look I currently was.“What?” He laughed and struck my arm with his elbow, playfully of course.“You know what”“Relax, I’m not going to touch her. She’s your wife. Come on, man, you’ve got to give me more credit than that”Then I really looked at him a
AlinaI was suddenly nervous at the prospect of meeting his other family, I was even more confused on what exactly I was doing here.“Do you want to shower and get changed first?” Sebastian went on, unperturbed by my worries,My palms were sweaty. I indiscreetly rubbed them against my skirt while he stood there peering at me curiously like he could see through the brave mask I was trying to put on.“Actually, I was hoping to talk to you first”Sebastian only raised his brow for a second before turning around. “We’d go somewhere private”I followed him around the curve of the staircase to the hallway beyond. There were a series of doors leading out of the hallway on both sides of us. Large windows flanked the exterior walls revealing the fields around the house. I decided that if I had time to do anything else, I would walk around the grounds. Finally, Sebastian turned open a door and we descended three steps into a sunken den decorated with plush carpets and dark walls. He offered me
AlinaWhen I woke up the next day, it was afternoon and there was no sign of Sebastian anywhere. I was relieved, I got dressed and stepped downstairs to the main wing where I met with the head steward of the house. I knew this because he had introduced himself to me.“Where is my husband?” The words sounded foreign against my lips.“Mrs. Wolfe, the master is at work. Would you like for me to send a message to him?” Master? Why did they have to call him that? It sounded so strange.“No, I will go to him myself”Edward, the head of steward seemed to be at a loss for wordss but I noticed how he shifted uncomfortably.“A moment then.” He excused himself to make a call. Although he stood only a few feet away, his back turned to me, I could not make out the words he was whispering into the phone. Was I supposed to seek permission before seeing Sebastian? When I could just drive to his office.Eventually, he turned around and said the master would see me now. Then he ordered a car around
AlinaI felt ashamed that she had caught us in that position but my mind was already focused on something else. This woman was so fucking beautiful. Why didn't he want her?“What is this news I hear? What madness is this Seb?” Her tone was harsh but her words seemed soft, almost as if she was trying to convince herself that this was probably a nightmare.“And you, I knew you were trouble from the first time I saw you in his office. Don't you have any shame? Sebastian and I have been together for most of our lives” Laila said furiously, her eyes fixed on me. She took a deep breath and then looked back at Sebastian.“So it was all for this” she accused him. I couldn't believe what was happening in the room. “You deceived me, used me, led me on only to be with this slut? ” Her tone sounded angry and bitter.I bit my lip.“I didn't lead you on. I called it off and you refused to move on” Sebastian was no longer above me. He was now standing casually, looking at the woman in front of hi
Alina The pain was immediate and excruciating but I kept myself together. I didn't cry, I didn't move, I didn't react. Not for long anyway. It was a good thing that I had learned self-control. “Mother!” Sebastian yelled angrily. He walked up to his mother and pulled her away from me. “Now you listen to me, that isn't what happens. You don't get to hit her, you don't have a say in this!” “Seb, let go of your mother this minute!” His father screeched. “I don't have the patience to deal with your temper tantrums” “She is nothing but a common prostitute” Mrs Wolfe chirped in. “Why would you protect her” “I am not! Don't talk about me like this, especially when I also have the power to make and break your company. You want to be a part of my grandfather's company so bad, my rejection wouldn't hurt you now but we all know you'd barely survive. Don't push me” My voice was raw, filled with rage and anger, as my emotions were overflowing. I didn't realize it but I was holding back so

Alina POVAlina. "Mrs. Wolfe" I muttered under my breath. I stared at the ring on my finger, still in shock from everything that had happened in the past few hours. I couldn't believe I'd gone from married to divorced to married again in the span of a day. My life was really one big mess. "We're
Alina POV"I want to speak to Sebastian Wolfe” I said as I stepped up to the front desk. The dark haired secretary took her time, running a mocking gaze over me, from my dirty, wrinkled dress to my cheap shoes, messy hair and ruined make up. I knew I looked crazy, but I didn't care. I was a desper
