Alina

I felt ashamed that she had caught us in that position  but my mind was already focused on something else. This woman was so fucking beautiful. Why didn't he want her?

“What is this news I hear? What madness is this Seb?”  Her tone was harsh but her words seemed soft, almost as if she was trying to convince herself that this was probably a nightmare.

“And you, I knew you were trouble from the first time I saw you in his office. Don't you have any shame? Sebastian and I have been together for most of our lives” Laila said furiously, her eyes fixed on me. She took a deep breath and then looked back at Sebastian.

“So it was all for this” she accused him. I couldn't believe what was happening in the room. “You deceived me, used me, led me on only to be with this slut? ” Her tone sounded angry and bitter.

I bit my lip.

“I didn't lead you on. I called it off and you refused to move on” Sebastian was no longer above me. He was now standing casually, looking at the woman in front of him. “And I will not have you call my wife names”

But Laila’s face showed no signs of remorse at all, she was pissed. I understood her.

“What did I do wrong Seb? why did you stop loving me? What has happened”  she asked, her eyes filled with tears?

It's funny how people could look so innocent one minute then act so hateful the next, especially when they were hurting. “I have everything, I would give up everything for you, and yet you chose another woman” She spat at the very last sentence, her eyes full of hate.

But this man didn't respond. He continued to look at her with a blank face. She clenched her fists in anger but said nothing.

I was confused.  I wanted to be out of that room, hearing her confess what she felt made me feel weird, it reminded me of how much I had begged too. I wanted to leave. But I couldn't. My feet were stuck to the ground.

She stared at me, her eyes lingered on the shirt I was wearing.

“Is that Sebastian’s shirt? why do you have it on, take it off” She spat storming towards  me. As soon as she got close enough to reach for the hem of the shirt, Sebastian stepped between us. “Let go of my wife” he ordered calmly.

I was speechless.

“No! She needs to take it off, I am supposed to be wearing  this” She was shouting hysterically. I was frozen with fear and confusion, I just stood there waiting for something to happen.

Then the door burst open and his parents and sister walked it.

It was obvious, they told her. This was an ambush. They tried to make a scene but it was obvious that it hadn't worked.

“I did everything right, I put you first,  I always put your needs ahead of mine. We were going to make a strong family,  but all this, this, this” she pointed angrily at the two of us. “This was not how it was meant to be”

“Come to me, love” Sebastian’s mother spoke firmly but softly. Laila went to her, sobbing in her arms and at that moment I felt like shit.

It was my fault this scene was unfolding and I didn't even know what was happening to me. I was the one causing her this pain.

“You shouldn't have called her” Sebastian said to his mother. His hands were tugged in his pocket and I wondered how he managed to remain nonchalant under such circumstances. He didn't even flinch.

The whole thing was too much for me to watch.  The atmosphere in the room was heavy and suffocating.

“At least some of us had the decency to tell her the truth, unlike you ”  His sister added bitterly. He shot her a deadly glare and everyone fell silent again.

“She needs to leave,” Sebastian continued.

“She is not leaving. If anyone needs to leave, then it is the filth you brought into this house ” his father stated angrily.

The tension rose again.  I couldn't breathe, I felt trapped in a bubble surrounded by angry faces. All I wanted to do was escape and go home.

“Laila is the only wife we know, we don't care about the slut you are with, we don't give two shits if you both had a pathetic excuse of a wedding but we would not be a part of your madness Seb, we will never accept our son marrying a…” His mother hesitated for a while before saying “a whore ”

They didn't create room for any more conversation, they led the sobbing girl out of the room and closed the door behind them without taking their eyes off the man who was still standing silently beside me.

His parents, sister, and fiancee left. Ex fiancee. He remained alone with me, staring at me with those dark blue eyes. I felt uncomfortable under his gaze, and I didn't want to look back into them either. It wasn't easy to do so.

I immediately made my way into the bathroom and locked it from inside . I needed a shower. A long one. That's exactly what I needed, I needed to get rid of the awkwardness. I stripped down and quickly washed myself, feeling my body wash away. I was glad my skin was tanned enough not to show the slightest shade of pink under my natural skin colour.

When I looked at my reflection, there was no trace of the woman I once was five years ago. A powerful, older face stared back at me . Strong jaw, sharp cheekbones, and thick eyelashes. And then came my hair. Long hair that hung loosely over my shoulders, and fell onto my chest. It wasn't curly or long but it was beautiful.

I was a changed person. I was confident and sexy, strong and determined, and in control.

When I returned to the room, I picked a side of the bed and curled under the duvet.

Some minutes later, I felt his weight sink on the other side of the bed, and my breath hitched and I pretended to snore.

“I know you are not sleeping” his voice

sounded husky as he adjusted against the pillow under him.

“Don't worry, I will not touch you. At least not yet, but soon enough you will beg me to” He whispered close to my ear and goosebumps covered my skin, my heart beating fast in what I was ashamed to admit, anticipation.

Sebastian POV“She’s easy on the eyes, cousin”I did not have to turn around to know it was Alex –Al as our mothers liked to call him, who had spoken. In his hand, he held a plate of food piled high. “Whose eyes?” I asked without looking at him.“Come on, it’s hard not to look”“But not impossible, try”He chuckled, recognizing my twisted sense of humor for what it was even though a part of me was serious.I looked away from him just as he picked up another piece of chicken from his plate and took a large bite.It was one of the greatest mysteries of Alex. How did he manage to eat that much and still remain fit. With his inconsistencies at the gym and several social disorders. But I knew how. Which was exactly why I was giving him the look I currently was.“What?” He laughed and struck my arm with his elbow, playfully of course.“You know what”“Relax, I’m not going to touch her. She’s your wife. Come on, man, you’ve got to give me more credit than that”Then I really looked at him a

AlinaI was suddenly nervous at the prospect of meeting his other family, I was even more confused on what exactly I was doing here.“Do you want to shower and get changed first?” Sebastian went on, unperturbed by my worries,My palms were sweaty. I indiscreetly rubbed them against my skirt while he stood there peering at me curiously like he could see through the brave mask I was trying to put on.“Actually, I was hoping to talk to you first”Sebastian only raised his brow for a second before turning around. “We’d go somewhere private”I followed him around the curve of the staircase to the hallway beyond. There were a series of doors leading out of the hallway on both sides of us. Large windows flanked the exterior walls revealing the fields around the house. I decided that if I had time to do anything else, I would walk around the grounds. Finally, Sebastian turned open a door and we descended three steps into a sunken den decorated with plush carpets and dark walls. He offered me

AlinaWhen I woke up the next day, it was afternoon and there was no sign of Sebastian anywhere. I was relieved, I got dressed and stepped downstairs to the main wing where I met with the head steward of the house. I knew this because he had introduced himself to me.“Where is my husband?” The words sounded foreign against my lips.“Mrs. Wolfe, the master is at work. Would you like for me to send a message to him?” Master? Why did they have to call him that? It sounded so strange.“No, I will go to him myself”Edward, the head of steward seemed to be at a loss for wordss but I noticed how he shifted uncomfortably.“A moment then.” He excused himself to make a call. Although he stood only a few feet away, his back turned to me, I could not make out the words he was whispering into the phone. Was I supposed to seek permission before seeing Sebastian? When I could just drive to his office.Eventually, he turned around and said the master would see me now. Then he ordered a car around

Alina The pain was immediate and excruciating but I kept myself together. I didn't cry, I didn't move, I didn't react. Not for long anyway. It was a good thing that I had learned self-control. “Mother!” Sebastian yelled angrily. He walked up to his mother and pulled her away from me. “Now you listen to me, that isn't what happens. You don't get to hit her, you don't have a say in this!” “Seb, let go of your mother this minute!” His father screeched. “I don't have the patience to deal with your temper tantrums” “She is nothing but a common prostitute” Mrs Wolfe chirped in. “Why would you protect her” “I am not! Don't talk about me like this, especially when I also have the power to make and break your company. You want to be a part of my grandfather's company so bad, my rejection wouldn't hurt you now but we all know you'd barely survive. Don't push me” My voice was raw, filled with rage and anger, as my emotions were overflowing. I didn't realize it but I was holding back so

  • His Contract Wife Revenge   Chapter Ten

AlinaIt all moved so fast, one minute I was asking him why he was stalking me and the other minute, I somehow found myself in the living room with my grandfather and Sebastian Wolfe.“We are getting married” Sebastian announced confidently and the room fell silent. It was typical of him to always have such power over everyone. His aura commanded everyone’s attention with ease, a fact he was very aware of and loved it about himself. But right now he could only focus on one person in that room, so when he looked at Charles, he saw hostility. I am sure of this because that was what I saw.My grandfather began to chuckle, it was empty and sounded like nails on a chalkboard, which made me more nervous.“Is this some sort of joke?”“No Sir, we were engaged before we lost contact, tell him, Alina”I was too frozen to speak but in the secrecy of my heart I was glad he had used the term “Engaged” instead of “Married”. That would have complicated things more.Everyone was waiting for me to sa
