INICIAR SESIÓNLyria's POV
I opened my eyes the moment I felt someone hit me on the leg. This must be it—is this heaven or hell?
I sat up, my gaze scanning through the room, which looked so familiar. It wasn't my matrimonial bedroom where I was pushed, neither was this hospital.
I remembered clearly how my husband and my best friend left me to die. I remembered how life drained helplessly out of me…
What in the goddess's name was happening? Why did this room feel nothing like hell or heaven but like my own room?
“Princess Lyria, everyone is waiting for you at the pack's grand hall.”
My eyes snapped the moment I heard my personal maid's voice. Cassandra.
“Waiting? For what?” I asked, trying to understand this. I knew my father was dead, but Cassandra was very well alive. I let her go after my wedding.
“Don’t tell me you already forgot you are getting married to the Gamma's son, Dave,” she replied, her words sounding so familiar.
Now I get why this felt so familiar. The room. The bed. The dress I put on… It was the exact dress I wore the night before our wedding day.
“Stand up and go get dressed. The Alpha and everyone are waiting for your arrival.” Cassandra's words confirmed the thought I had in mind.
At first I thought it was impossible, but this was five years ago. I lowered my gaze to look at my body, which was three times slimmer than how it used to be.
“What is today's date?” I asked sharply after climbing down the bed.
I pinched myself to see if I was not in a coma and probably dreaming…
But it hurts.
“It is Saturday, of course,” Cassandra replied. “Are you alright? Should I call the—”
“No need for that,” I interrupted her before leaving to join the makeup artist.
If it was true I had woken up five years ago, the day I got married to Alpha Dave, those two makeup artists who almost overwhelmed me with praises on how beautiful I was would confirm that.
My eyes widened the moment I stepped into the special room set aside by my father to doll me up for the wedding. Everything was exactly as it was… the walls, the chair, the skincare products, and even those ladies.
I sat down after walking up to them, letting the ladies do the makeup on me. They spent much more time than it should take. Just like it was five years ago, they showered praises on me every seconds till they were done with the makeup.
“If you doubt us, you can see for yourself,” the makeup artist stretched the mirror forward to me.
I hesitated before taking the mirror from them. Staring at my reflection, I couldn't help but want to burst into tears. "Beautiful" would be an understatement, unlike the woman I was before I died.
The dark spot and wrinkle on my face weren't there. My skin looked flawless, the makeup just as it was on this very day of five years ago.
“Are you not yet done? Alpha—”
“All that is left is putting on the gown,” one of the makeup artists interrupted Cassandra.
She helped me fit into the pink gown, which I had customized, a dress that was never for once replicated.
With all of these, the pieces finally came together; I was given a second chance by the moon goddess.
This time, I would make the right choice. I would make sure I don't end up meeting the same fate…
I held back my tears as how I died replayed in my head. Each step I took out of my room, down to the grand hall my father had constructed just for this wedding, made my conviction stronger.
I won't be Dave’s victim this time!
The claps from everyone snapped me out of my thoughts. My eyes searched through the hall, moving from one Alpha to the other.
My father wanted my wedding to be the grandest there ever was. He invited more than twenty packs’ Alphas and every reputable individual across packs.
After trying to come up with a way to call off this wedding between me and Dave, the only thing that made sense to me was getting married to him. Alpha Azriel.
He is the only man who was able to stand up to Dave. For five years, he had been Dave's rival. One who Dave hated with everything inside of him.
“To everyone who made out time to honor my invitation and to every member of the Bloodcircle pack, I say thank you. Your presence meant everything to me and my household,” my father gave his speech after I walked down the aisle.
I raised my gaze to look at Dave, who was looking at my best friend, who was amongst the ushers. The me before I was given another chance would have cleared that as just nervousness.
“Today, the Alpha's—"
“I have something to say, Priestess Ize,” I interrupted the priestess before she could go on with the wedding.
Knowing if I get married to Dave, he would automatically become the Alpha of this pack after my father's death, I summoned the courage to go on with my plan.
“I am calling off the engagement and wedding between me and Dave Wilson. I don't want to go on with this wedding with him!”
Lyria POV“What are you talking about? There are many eyewitnesses who saw the mortician leaving with the Alpha's corpse,” Elder Thorne, who had been quiet like none of this had anything to do with him, asked.I moved my gaze from Dave to Alpha Azriel. As much as I have every reason to pin this on Alpha Azriel, I don't want to.He proved me wrong. The drink from last night wasn't from him. Cassandra said it was from Ariana, and the one who secretly took care of me without anyone in the pack knowing was Alpha Azriel.“My father was not only stabbed, he was poisoned. Those multiple stabs were signs of struggle,” I forced out those words. If the explanation Cassandra gave me earlier was true, I have to stand my ground on finding the killer through thorough investigation without pinning it on Alpha Azriel and also on the fact that my father is alive. That is the only way I won't have to end my marriage with Alpha Azriel and also have to get married to another man who would lead the pack.
Dave's POV:“Alpha Azriel’s main aim is to destroy this pack, Lyria,” I continued, my gaze fixed on her, enjoying every fear I instilled inside her. “Think about the reason he agreed to marry you the second you left me for him.”“That isn't true.”I smiled at her words, which seemed forced, sounding like she was trying to convince herself instead.“Well, believe whatever you want to just like you did yesterday,” I said, hoping she would think hard and deep. “You still have the chance to clean up the mess you created yesterday.”“Just call off your marriage with Alpha Azriel and announce us getting married before more damage is caused.“It is that simple, Lyria,” With that said, I walked away. The Lyria I know would crawl back to me, begging. In Bluemoon, I am the only one who has ever chosen her aside from her father. Love her and care for her.Even though I was doing it for the show, I made it believable. I just don't know what went wrong.Just few days ago, Lyria was so excited abou
Lyria's POVI slowly opened my eyes, my head hurting so bad as if someone…I quickly sat up, staring around the room I was in. The last thing I wanted was for all that happened to be a dream or to wake up in hell.I took in a deep breath after searching around the room, which was exactly my room. It was as it was before—“Princess Lyria,” Cassandra's voice snapped me out of what seemed like my thoughts, yet a fragment of my memory.I remembered taking drink from her, then came the pain and how I was struggling… finding it hard to breath…“Alpha Xavier was murdered last night, Princess Lyria,” Cassandra's words made me blink my eyes, trying to understand what she meant.I saw my father yesterday! No… no… There is no way he was dead! I didn't remember him getting murdered!Unable to think straight, I got out of my room before I rushed out, heading off to my father's room.“Wifey,” I felt Alpha Azriel's hand holding me tightly. “You are supposed to be in your room, it isn't safe—”I did
Azriel's POV:I inhaled deeply after I managed to pull her away. “Lyria, I am not going to touch you. Not this way!”I don't care if she was under the influence of drink, I can't do this. Not when I know how much she disliked me.Having her choose me in the very end after deciding to marry another man was enough for me.The alliance is my goal.“Princess Lyria—”“I want you to be with her until I am back with a doctor,” I instructed the lady who claimed to be her maid earlier. “Don’t leave here, and no one must know about this!”I hurried out, finding my way through the crowd who were too engrossed in the party and dancing to know I and Lyria was not down here with them. While searching for my Beta, my gaze moved across the room in hope of finding that bitch who spiked her drink, but there wasn't a trace of her or Dave in the room.“Alpha Azriel, have you seen my daughter?”“Yes, she is in her room,” I replied sharply, avoiding eye contact with Alpha Xavier."Alpha Azriel, you look—”
Azriel's POV“Take care of him! It must not exceed tonight!” A familiar voice made me turn. “If it exceeds today, I will make both you and your family pay for it!”I smiled faintly when my gaze landed on Dave from the corner where I stood. Given what he did to Lyria earlier, I wanted to snap his neck out.I held back the urge not to do something that would paint me in a negative light more than the way others see me.Our pack needs Bloodcircle’s money and resources for sustainability, while they need our Gammas for protection.I can't fuck that up.“Dave, it is time,” a feminine voice echoed from the direction Dave stood. “She is drunk now. All you have to do is walk into that room—”“I doubt if that would work,” Dave said, staring at the lady with quite a romantic look on his face. She must be the lady Lyria talked about. What am I even doing?Without thinking twice, I turned to walk away, but Ariana’s words made me halt.“Look, Lyria would not be able to fight the urge. She is a mes
Lyria's POV:My heart raced hard, my body shivering as I prayed desperately. I don't want to face the same fate… I don't want to misuse this second chance given to me.I snapped out of my thoughts at the sound of a punch. When I turned around, Dave was already on the ground.“Wifey, you are supposed to be with me at the party and not here,” Alpha Azriel's voice echoed. Calm and hoarse like we had been on a good time all this time.I didn't take my gaze away from Dave. For some reason, this was satisfying. Watching him feel defeated especially given how much he hated defeat. From the deep frown on his face and how he clenched his hands which were turning pale, I could tell a little bit of what was going on his mind.I turned around the moment I felt Alpha Azriel locked his hand around mine. I don't know what he was up to, but I walked alongside with him to the after wedding afterparty. My face brightened the moment we walked into my father's grand living room which I later became a lit
