Lyria's POV

Words failed to express my shock the moment the pack doctor handed me the test result.

"Congratulations, Luna Lyria. You are six weeks pregnant,” the doctor said calmly, a faint smile on her face.

As much as I wanted to doubt this happening, Doctor Liz is the most qualified doctor here in this pack. She was also the doctor who told me to give up trying after five failed IVS.

“Doctor, how is this even possible?”

“I don't know, but you can call it a miracle, Luna Lyria,” she replied sweetly. “All you need right now is rest, eat healthy food, and don't miss weekly checkup.”

“I would,” I said loudly, unable to contain the joy and excitement bubbling inside me.

I put the result into my bag before leaving the hospital, imagining how I was going to break the news to Alpha Dave.

The driver started the car the moment I got in, my heart racing at each second that went by. Even though I was going to wait until midnight for Alpha Dave to be back home, I can't wait to arrange my pup's room…

I snapped out of my thoughts the second the driver pulled over. Without hesitating, I hurried out of the car the moment I caught a glimpse of Alpha Dave's car.

Talk about the perfect coincidence.

Is my sister-in-law here again? I moved my gaze from the bag and heels on the table, preparing myself for her nags.

Or maybe it was perfect that she was here. She would get to know I am not the barren woman she now addresses me as.

“Yes… fuck… Alpha Dave…”

My eyes blinked the moment I heard the sound coming from the bedroom.

No, I must have misheard those words. This must be my hormones reacting…

The doubts I had shattered the moment I opened the door, coming face-to-face with my husband and my best friend.

They didn't notice my presence. The both of them were so engrossed in the act, Alpha Dave buried inside of Selene, who was moaning loudly, her hands circled around his neck.

“This is the reason why I wanted to move in… damn… this bed is just so fucking amazing…” her voice echoed. “I want you to fully become mine! I can't keep sharing you.”

I stood there dumbfounded, trying to make sense out of that single statement.

For goddess' sake, Ariana is a mother of two. She is married. She claimed her husband was…

“I have always been yours just as you have always been mine." Alpha Dave's words were like a dagger, stabbing straight into my heart. “I would divorce her when the time is right. She is still useful, at least with the domestic work.”

“What about our sons? Are we going to continue doing this? I am tired… five… five fucking years, Dave...”

Even though the sound of their skin slapping against each other was loud, their conversation was so loud. Louder than even their moans.

I felt my knees weaken, my body shivering like I was placed in a freezer.

The handbag I held tightly fell off my grip, causing a loud thud on the ground.

“Lyria—”

“So this was all you have been doing behind my back, Alpha Dave? You have been cheating on me?” I interrupted Alpha Dave, who was staring at me with shock on his face.

I tried to hold back the tears that welled up in my eyes, but it was too late.

“Lyria, sooner or later you would find out about this. I think it is time you know this,” Alpha Dave’s voice echoed, sounding like he was talking to a five-year-old pup. Like what he did wasn't wrong.

Not even an ounce of shame or guilt in his voice.

“I love Ariana, and she is my fated mate—”

“If she was, why then did you marry me? It's been five years, and this is all you have to say after doing this to me?” More tears ran down my face as I threw questions at him.

“Lyria, please don't blame him. We were in love, but it was just that he had to marry you because you were the Alpha's daughter and had something to offer him,” Arian, who now had the duvet wrapped around her chest, defended him. “Come to think of it, you should be grateful he didn't push you out. He even saw a little bit of usefulness in you.”

“You can't even give him a pup, not even a miscarriage, Lyria. If anything, you should even be grateful he allowed you to stay for this long. No man can, especially not for an omega like you,” she continued.

Every word landed on me like a rock, breaking the whole of me into pieces.

This was the same friend I have supported many times. On days Ariana would come crying to me about how her husband can't afford her sons' school fees. On days, she would ask for my expensive jewelries. Not once have I turned away.

Without thinking twice, I walked up to Ariana and slapped her. Unable to sate the anger now burning through me, I raised my hand to slap her again, but Alpha Dave slapped me instead.

My husband slapped me for Ariana!

“How dare you slap her? If you weren't late Alpha Xavier’s daughter, I would never have chosen a female like you over my fated mate!” He barked at me, staring at me like I was some sinner.

“So you—”

Alpha Dave pushed me before I could complete my statement. I fell hard to the ground, my head landing directly on the glass table at the corner of the bed.

Blood gushed out of my head and my thigh when I landed on the ground, my body too weak to move, my head hurting so bad, like my skull had cracked open. I moved a finger, hoping Alpha Dave would at least come for me.

Help me up…

“Dave, it is better she is gone. This way we wouldn't have to keep worrying about what the pack elders would think,” Ariana’s voice echoed.

Even though my gaze was blurry, I could still see her facial expression. Even though life was slowly slipping out of me, every part of me was hoping Alpha Dave would look my way. Help me up and rush me to the hospital.

I am his wife, for goddess's sake!

“You are right. If only you were the Alpha's daughter, all of this mess wouldn't have happened," Alpha Dave's words made me want to scream, want to curse the twenty-year-old me who believed he was in love with me and that every other man would never come close.

But all of that effort to move, to shout, made no impact. I felt life slowly drained out of my body, the environment getting darker as my mind went blank.

I was dying… by the hand of the same man I had loved for five years!

  • I Do: Marrying My Ex-husband's Rival After Rebirth    My Husband Was With Me

Lyria POV“What are you talking about? There are many eyewitnesses who saw the mortician leaving with the Alpha's corpse,” Elder Thorne, who had been quiet like none of this had anything to do with him, asked.I moved my gaze from Dave to Alpha Azriel. As much as I have every reason to pin this on Alpha Azriel, I don't want to.He proved me wrong. The drink from last night wasn't from him. Cassandra said it was from Ariana, and the one who secretly took care of me without anyone in the pack knowing was Alpha Azriel.“My father was not only stabbed, he was poisoned. Those multiple stabs were signs of struggle,” I forced out those words. If the explanation Cassandra gave me earlier was true, I have to stand my ground on finding the killer through thorough investigation without pinning it on Alpha Azriel and also on the fact that my father is alive. That is the only way I won't have to end my marriage with Alpha Azriel and also have to get married to another man who would lead the pack.

  • I Do: Marrying My Ex-husband's Rival After Rebirth    Making Me The Alpha

Dave's POV:“Alpha Azriel’s main aim is to destroy this pack, Lyria,” I continued, my gaze fixed on her, enjoying every fear I instilled inside her. “Think about the reason he agreed to marry you the second you left me for him.”“That isn't true.”I smiled at her words, which seemed forced, sounding like she was trying to convince herself instead.“Well, believe whatever you want to just like you did yesterday,” I said, hoping she would think hard and deep. “You still have the chance to clean up the mess you created yesterday.”“Just call off your marriage with Alpha Azriel and announce us getting married before more damage is caused.“It is that simple, Lyria,” With that said, I walked away. The Lyria I know would crawl back to me, begging. In Bluemoon, I am the only one who has ever chosen her aside from her father. Love her and care for her.Even though I was doing it for the show, I made it believable. I just don't know what went wrong.Just few days ago, Lyria was so excited abou

  • I Do: Marrying My Ex-husband's Rival After Rebirth    This isn't the second chance I wanted!

Lyria's POVI slowly opened my eyes, my head hurting so bad as if someone…I quickly sat up, staring around the room I was in. The last thing I wanted was for all that happened to be a dream or to wake up in hell.I took in a deep breath after searching around the room, which was exactly my room. It was as it was before—“Princess Lyria,” Cassandra's voice snapped me out of what seemed like my thoughts, yet a fragment of my memory.I remembered taking drink from her, then came the pain and how I was struggling… finding it hard to breath…“Alpha Xavier was murdered last night, Princess Lyria,” Cassandra's words made me blink my eyes, trying to understand what she meant.I saw my father yesterday! No… no… There is no way he was dead! I didn't remember him getting murdered!Unable to think straight, I got out of my room before I rushed out, heading off to my father's room.“Wifey,” I felt Alpha Azriel's hand holding me tightly. “You are supposed to be in your room, it isn't safe—”I did

  • I Do: Marrying My Ex-husband's Rival After Rebirth    The Alliance Is My Goal

Azriel's POV:I inhaled deeply after I managed to pull her away. “Lyria, I am not going to touch you. Not this way!”I don't care if she was under the influence of drink, I can't do this. Not when I know how much she disliked me.Having her choose me in the very end after deciding to marry another man was enough for me.The alliance is my goal.“Princess Lyria—”“I want you to be with her until I am back with a doctor,” I instructed the lady who claimed to be her maid earlier. “Don’t leave here, and no one must know about this!”I hurried out, finding my way through the crowd who were too engrossed in the party and dancing to know I and Lyria was not down here with them. While searching for my Beta, my gaze moved across the room in hope of finding that bitch who spiked her drink, but there wasn't a trace of her or Dave in the room.“Alpha Azriel, have you seen my daughter?”“Yes, she is in her room,” I replied sharply, avoiding eye contact with Alpha Xavier."Alpha Azriel, you look—”

  • I Do: Marrying My Ex-husband's Rival After Rebirth    I Can't Fuck This Up

Azriel's POV“Take care of him! It must not exceed tonight!” A familiar voice made me turn. “If it exceeds today, I will make both you and your family pay for it!”I smiled faintly when my gaze landed on Dave from the corner where I stood. Given what he did to Lyria earlier, I wanted to snap his neck out.I held back the urge not to do something that would paint me in a negative light more than the way others see me.Our pack needs Bloodcircle’s money and resources for sustainability, while they need our Gammas for protection.I can't fuck that up.“Dave, it is time,” a feminine voice echoed from the direction Dave stood. “She is drunk now. All you have to do is walk into that room—”“I doubt if that would work,” Dave said, staring at the lady with quite a romantic look on his face. She must be the lady Lyria talked about. What am I even doing?Without thinking twice, I turned to walk away, but Ariana’s words made me halt.“Look, Lyria would not be able to fight the urge. She is a mes

  • I Do: Marrying My Ex-husband's Rival After Rebirth    The Wedding After-party

Lyria's POV:My heart raced hard, my body shivering as I prayed desperately. I don't want to face the same fate… I don't want to misuse this second chance given to me.I snapped out of my thoughts at the sound of a punch. When I turned around, Dave was already on the ground.“Wifey, you are supposed to be with me at the party and not here,” Alpha Azriel's voice echoed. Calm and hoarse like we had been on a good time all this time.I didn't take my gaze away from Dave. For some reason, this was satisfying. Watching him feel defeated especially given how much he hated defeat. From the deep frown on his face and how he clenched his hands which were turning pale, I could tell a little bit of what was going on his mind.I turned around the moment I felt Alpha Azriel locked his hand around mine. I don't know what he was up to, but I walked alongside with him to the after wedding afterparty. My face brightened the moment we walked into my father's grand living room which I later became a lit
