EZRA'S POVI stood right in front of Caelen's door, hesitating to even knock when Ana appeared behind me and tapped my shoulder. I stepped back, frightened a little by her actions. "Are you alright my boy? Do you not want to go in?"I shook my head, "I do want to. I am just not sure if he is willing to speak to anyone right now." I answered her. "Is there any day Caelen isn't willing to speak to you? Especially in these depressed times?" Ana chuckled. But before I could respond, the door opened revealing Caelen. I sighed softly. Ana bowed her head briefly and walked away. "Good day father." "Would you like to see me?" "Yes." He stepped back inside his study and I followed him. Sometimes, I wondered if he ever felt the need to use his bedroom. Growing up, I had only seen him spend most of the time locked up in his study going through business details and files. I concluded that it was his way of copying with his loneliness. He sat down and I took my usual seat.

EZRA'S POV.The following days were simply about finding solutions to the problems at hand. The quads were focused on finding Dave's mother while a solution to his ailment was secretly being worked upon by Caius and Aldric. Since nobody was yet to know about Dave's existence, I guessed it was just better that he was hidden from the rest of the vampires and the others should be made to take the blame for Dave's wrongdoings. It was Caelen's suggestion in the first place. I have yet to receive a call from Marco ever since I left Valden. I wished I could just tell him that he had no reason to be paranoid. Deeply within me, I felt like this was simply just a misunderstanding. Yes, there was a war. They fought which was understandable but they could as well resolve it. There was no need to prolong issues based on the affairs of the past. I sighed as I wrapped my scarf around my neck and checked myself in the mirror for half a minute. I looked at my room one last time before stepping out.
