The woman’s moans filled the opulent master bedroom like a symphony of sin. Ronan Sterling didn’t do gentle. He never had. His fingers dug into Serena’s hips as he drove into her from behind with deep, punishing thrusts. The sound of skin slapping skin mixed with her desperate cries.

“Ronan—oh God, yes, just like that!” Serena gasped, her blonde hair a mess as she pushed back against him, chasing her pleasure like the greedy socialite she was.

He smirked coldly, one large hand fisting her hair while the other slapped her ass hard enough to leave a red imprint. “Shut up and take it,” he growled, his voice low and commanding. He fucked her harder, relentless, chasing nothing but release. No emotions. No promises. Just raw, physical relief.

Serena came first, her walls clenching around him as she screamed his name. Ronan followed shortly after with a low, guttural groan, spilling into the condom. He pulled out immediately, discarding it and heading straight for the ensuite bathroom without a backward glance.

“Leave before I’m out of the shower,” he said flatly. “And Serena? Don’t show up unannounced again. I’m not in the mood for repeats.”

She pouted from the bed, but she knew the rules. Ronan Sterling didn’t do girlfriends or attachments. He did sex — hot, dirty, and on his terms.

By the time he emerged, dressed in a tailored black shirt that hugged his broad shoulders and muscular chest, the staff was in full preparation mode. His father’s latest mistake was arriving today. Victor Sterling had married Elena Monroe after a whirlwind romance, and now the woman’s daughter was moving into the family mansion.

Ronan poured himself a glass of aged whiskey, staring out at the private beach below. At twenty-eight, he had built his own tech empire from the ground up. He didn’t need this blended-family circus. Especially not when his father’s business dealings were already under scrutiny.

The crunch of gravel announced their arrival. Ronan watched from the window as the black SUV pulled up.

Elena stepped out first — polished, smiling, clearly thrilled to be Mrs. Sterling now. Then came her daughter.

Lila Monroe.

Ronan’s hand tightened around the crystal glass. She was… unexpected. Long, wavy dark hair that caught the sunlight like silk. A simple white sundress that clung to her slender yet curvaceous figure — full breasts, narrow waist, hips that swayed naturally as she walked. Striking green eyes scanned the massive mansion with a mix of awe and guarded caution. She carried herself with quiet dignity, not the entitled swagger he had anticipated from a gold-digger’s daughter.

Their eyes locked through the glass.

Time seemed to slow. A spark — hot, dangerous, and completely unwanted — jumped between them. Ronan felt it low in his gut, a sudden tightening that had nothing to do with the woman he’d just fucked upstairs.

Lila’s cheeks flushed slightly. She looked away first.

*Good,* Ronan thought. *Keep it that way.*

He downed the rest of his whiskey and headed toward the grand foyer, his expression carved from ice.

“Welcome to the Sterling estate,” he said coolly as they entered, his deep voice cutting through the air. His gaze raked over Lila briefly — dismissive on the surface, but his body remembered that spark. “Try not to break anything.”

Elena laughed nervously. “Ronan, this is my daughter, Lila. Lila, this is Victor’s son.”

Lila lifted her chin, meeting his stare head-on despite the clear tension. “Nice to meet you,” she said, her voice steady but with an edge. “Though from the look on your face, I’m guessing the feeling isn’t mutual.”

Ronan’s lips curved into a mocking smile. “Perceptive. Let’s get one thing clear — this is *my* house. Play nice, stay out of my way, and we won’t have problems.”

Lila’s green eyes flashed with fire. “I’m not here to play games, *stepbrother*. I’m here because I have no choice. So maybe dial back the asshole attitude.”

The air between them crackled. Ronan stepped closer, towering over her. He could smell her light floral scent, see the rapid rise and fall of her chest. Fuck, she was beautiful when she was angry.

“Careful,” he murmured, voice low enough that only she could hear. “You’re in my world now. And I don’t play nice with pretty little intruders.”

Lila’s breath hitched, but she didn’t back down. The tension between them was thick enough to cut — hate mixed with something far more dangerous.

Something that felt like the beginning of an obsession.

As Elena called for the staff to bring in the luggage, Ronan turned away, but not before his mind already started wondering what Lila Monroe would sound like moaning *his* name.

This was going to be hell.

Six weeks later, the city was still talking. The photos had faded from the front pages, replaced by newer scandals, but the name *Sterling* still carried a different weight now. Ronan had walked away from the company. Victor had frozen accounts and released cold public statements. Elena had cried, screamed, and eventually gone quiet. Serena had disappeared from social circles after Marcus made sure every journalist knew she had tried to blackmail a pregnant woman. And through it all, Ronan never once let go of Lila’s hand. They were staying in a penthouse he owned under a different company name — high above the city, floor-to-ceiling windows, quiet. Safe. Lila stood on the balcony in one of his shirts, the ocean breeze from the distant coast mixing with the city air. Her hand rested on the soft curve of her lower belly. At three months, the bump was just starting to show.Behind her, the sliding door opened.Ronan stepped out, barefoot, wearing black sweatpants and nothing else. He wr

By 9 a.m. the story was everywhere.Lila sat on the edge of Ronan’s bed in one of his shirts, staring at her phone as the notifications piled up. Entertainment sites, Twitter, Instagram gossip pages — all of them had the photos. Blurry, grainy, but clear enough. The headlines were brutal.**Sterling Heir Caught in Forbidden Affair with Stepsister** **Pregnant? Lila hadn’t answered.Ronan walked out of the bathroom, fully dressed in a black suit, no tie, sleeves rolled up. He looked calm. Too calm. The kind of calm that meant he had already decided something irreversible. He took the phone gently from her hands and tossed it onto the bed.“We’re going public,” he said. “On our terms.”Lila looked up at him. “How?”“Press conference. • ILLICIT OBSESSION    Breaking Point

Sleep never came.Lila lay awake in Ronan’s bed long after the thunder outside had faded, staring at the ceiling while his arm stayed locked around her waist. His hand rested protectively over her stomach even in sleep, as if he could shield the tiny life inside her from the war that had just been declared. Every time she closed her eyes she saw Victor’s face in the study. Heard the words *quietly given up*. Felt the ground disappearing under her feet.By 5 a.m. she couldn’t take it anymore. She slipped out of bed carefully, pulled on one of Ronan’s shirts, and went to the balcony. The ocean was black and restless. The coastal wind whipped her hair across her face. She wrapped her arms around herself and tried to breathe through the panic. This was her fault. If she had never moved into this house, if she had never let Ronan touch her, if she had been stronger—The balcony door opened behind her.Ronan stepped out wearing only sweatpants, hair messy, eyes still heavy with sleep but al

  • ILLICIT OBSESSION    The Reckoning

Victor Sterling’s study felt like a courtroom. The heavy oak door closed behind them with a soft, final click. Floor-to-ceiling windows looked out over the darkening ocean, but the only light came from the desk lamp, casting harsh shadows across Victor’s face. He stood behind the massive desk, the printed photo of Ronan and Lila on the parlour couch lying between them like evidence at a trial.Lila’s heart hammered so hard she could feel it in her throat. Ronan stood slightly in front of her, one hand still brushing the small of her back — a silent claim even now.Victor’s voice was cold enough to freeze blood. “Explain this.”Ronan didn’t flinch. “It’s exactly what it looks like.”“You are fucking your stepsister in my house,” Victor said, each word precise and cutting. “While your mother and I were away. While we are trying to present a united, respectable family image for the largest merger this company has ever seen. Do you have any idea what this photo would do if it reached the

  • ILLICIT OBSESSION    War Lines

The positive pregnancy test stayed hidden in the drawer of Lila’s nightstand, but its presence changed everything. Every glance Ronan gave her across the dinner table felt heavier. Every time his hand brushed her lower back in the hallway, it lingered just a second longer over the place where their secret grew. The mansion had become a pressure cooker, and Serena was the one turning up the heat.It started with the email.Lila was in the library the next morning, pretending to sketch while her stomach rolled with morning sickness, when her phone lit up. An email from an unknown address. Subject line: *Proof*.Attached were three photos. The first was the blurry one Serena had already sent — Ronan behind her on the parlour couch. The second was sharper: Lila’s face mid-moan, Ronan’s hand fisted in her hair. The third was new. A close-up of the pregnancy test she had taken, clearly photographed from inside her own bathroom. Somehow Serena had gotten access. Or paid someone who had.The

  • ILLICIT OBSESSION    The Secret Between Us

Three weeks after the parents returned, the mansion felt smaller. Every shared glance across the dinner table, every accidental brush of hands in the hallway, every late-night text that said *come to me* carried more weight. The stolen nights continued — quieter now, more careful, but no less intense. Ronan still took her like a man possessed, and Lila still came apart for him like she had no other choice. But something had changed in her body.It started with the nausea. Subtle at first — a wave of dizziness in the mornings, the smell of coffee suddenly too strong. Then her period didn’t come. At first she blamed stress. Serena’s threats had gone quiet for a few days after Ronan and Marcus paid her a visit, but the photo still existed. The fear still lived under her skin. Still, when the second week passed with nothing, Lila bought a test. She took it in the private bathroom of her suite at dawn, hands shaking so hard she almost dropped the stick. Two minutes felt like two hours. Whe
