CHAPTER 17: TESSA'S OFFER.

TREVOR'S POV.

Tessa glared at me like I had done something awfully wrong. I looked right back at her.

"Why are you holding my hand? Why are you holding me back? This scum deserves to be punished for what she did!" Tessa fumed.

"That's enough," I repeated calmly, setting her hand down. Then I looked at Liana.

"Go."

"You're letting her leave, just like that? Without an apology for her wrongdoing?" Tessa pressed. She was right though. To some extent.

"She'll tender

CHAPTER 89: SNEAKY APPROACH.LIANA'S POV.We headed back, rejoining the others at the playground. I headed there first, and Sarah arrived a couple of minutes later, following a different route. We needed to make sure we didn't create any suspicions. The kids were still having fun — having the time of their lives. Meanwhile, Trevor at this point was drenched in slime and he was wet. Some of the other staff joined in the fun, while the others just stood and watched, feeling too dignified to do such a thing. Monica Brody just cheered from the side at every victory and sympathized with those who lost.I Looked at her in a new light. All I felt was anger toward her. I was filled with murderous intent toward her. I felt like grabbing her by the neck and squeezing the life out of her, making sure she knows who's taking her life. After my sparring session with Trevor, I noticed that I had changed. I became more confident. I felt stronger, empowered, and angrier. I didn't yet understand wha

  • Marked By The Alpha Who Never Was    MOTHER AND THE MATRON.

CHAPTER 88: MOTHER AND THE MATRON.LIANA'S POV.I hurried toward the administrative block, as that was the direction she was headed. I instinctively turned to see if someone was watching us, but it seemed like everyone was so fixed on the activities to really couldn't take note."Hey," I called out as I got closer to her. But she didn't even bother to respond or stop."Hey. Hold up!" I said as I got even closer this time. Cheekily, she sighed frustratedly as she stayed put, not even giving me the courtesy of turning back "Sarah, right?" I asked as I stood before her. "And who's asking?" "I'm Liana. I'm with the President of Van Group," I said."Obviously," Sarah scoffed, rolling her eyes."Why aren't you with the others? Aren't you missing out on all the fun?" I asked."Why the heck should I make merry with that bunch of backstabbing assholes?" Sarah snarled, turning furious. "You shouldn't be cussing at your age, you know," I cautioned."Like the fuck you care," she remarked, sc

  • Marked By The Alpha Who Never Was    ALL ISN'T AS IT SEEMS.

CHAPTER 87: ALL ISN'T AS IT SEEMS.LIANA'S POV.Walking through the hallway, everything seemed pretty normal. Clean hallway, beautiful pictures and portraits of the kids, flowers in vases... The usual stuff. At least they had the decency to keep the place tidy. The door to the Matron's office creaked open as she unlocked it and opened it, ushering us in as she stood by the door and had a hand on the doorknob. Boraz and two of the men stayed outside by the door. "Please, have a seat," she said, stretching her hand toward the seats in front of her desk. "Thank you," Trevor replied like a gentleman, then with a nudge of his head, he nonverbally indicated that I should take a seat. I nodded in acknowledgment and sat down as well. "Your secretary, huh? She's pretty," Monica Brody said, chuckling. I just smiled faintly, saying nothing."So about Debbie," Trevor brought back the conversation."Yes. Debbie," she sighed. "But first, let me get you something to drink.""No need to bother y

  • Marked By The Alpha Who Never Was    FOSTER HOME VISIT.

CHAPTER 86: FOSTER HOME VISIT.LIANA'S POV.When we were done having breakfast, Trevor headed upstairs to get changed, while I waited for him in the living room. He was casually dressed initially, but befitting enough for a casual outing.Upon his return, he had changed into an ash striped suit. It fit him perfectly, but loose at the same time. He had a great sense of fashion, I must admit.I stood up as he got to the living area. "You ready?" he asked."I always am," I nodded. He nodded in acknowledgment, then we headed out. "Today was meant to be your day off, and I've asked you to tag along for something I should have informed you about way before now.""It's not a problem, sir. Besides, I am your secretary, not for convenience," I replied."But still, I should have told you. I may have encroached into your plans," he responded."I had no plans, sir. Even if I did, your priorities are my priorities," I replied. I noticed that Trevor said nothing. He just nodded his head as he p

  • Marked By The Alpha Who Never Was    MATTERS OF THE HEART.

CHAPTER 85: MATTERS OF THE HEART.LIANA'S POV. All alone in the underground training facility, I kept on punching the bag, on, and on, and on... I increased the intensity of the punches as a tempestuous rage welled up in me. I didn't know who was responsible for my parents' death, but somehow, the person whose image came to mind, stirring my anger even more, was Carl. I was all sweaty at this point, tired a bit even, but the rush of anger somehow energized me. I saw myself bashing his skull in.I reached the zenith of the anger welling up in me. With a loud yell, I landed a punch with all the might I could muster. My hand went through the bag, ripping it in half. I stood there, panting as I looked at the bag, my hair all ruffled up. I found myself breaking down in tears, bawling. It had been a long time since I cried in this manner, overwhelmed with grief. I didn't know them. I had no recollection of them, but somehow, at that moment, I was overwhelmed with grief. Maybe it was f

  • Marked By The Alpha Who Never Was    MYSTERIOUS LIANA.

CHAPTER 84: MYSTERIOUS LIANA.TREVOR'S POV.Sounds of punches being landed on a leather punching bag resounded in the atmosphere. I deliberately gave Liana the liberty to leave before now, after I pushed her to her limit, emotionally. Poking at one's emotions was an infallible technique that always guaranteed results. It stirred up her anger. If it didn't, then it would've meant her parents meant nothing to her. But, in her case, her anger arose from the pain she'd suffered, unjustly due to the absence of a family of her own, a family that would have protected her from all that she had to go through— the humiliation and unfair treatment. It seemed to Liana still needed some time to blow off some steam. So I let her be, and sat by and allowed her to do her thing. Checking my phone, I saw a notification. I checked it as I unlocked my phone. My eyes widened slightly. I opened it and quickly realized that it was a scheduled reminder. On this day, I actually forgot, carried away by the
