LOGINSABLE'S POV“Worth every coin?” Knox mumbled underneath his breath but I could clearly hear the words. Corvin went on with his sentence still not understanding the weight of the word he'd earlier said. He was an evil man, and evil men don't understand that their actions are not normal. Exactly why he still said those words to me like I was a piece of garbage he could sell off at whatever time he wanted to. “She wasn't this fine when I sold her off, I bet I did a good thing afterall.” He added, letting out a loud laughter. He hadn't done so for a long time when I heard the loud punching sound and the slight cracking of jaw.“Holy fuck.” I mumbled underneath my breath as my gaze landed on Knox. He'd thrown his fist seconds before I could realize and his punch landed right on Corvin's face. Corvin slipped to the ground, his eyes bulging out of its socket. His looks were filled with shock. He clearly didn't ex
SABLE'S POVBy the crack of dawn, my door creaked open gently. I wasn't asleep, I couldn't sleep a wink although it was night. But one thing I made sure to do was shut my eyes the moment I noticed Knox's body movement. I didn't want him to worry or lose his own sleep because I couldn't get any. Slightly before day break. Knox woke up. He cross-checked over and over again to be sure I was fast asleep. I pretended to be until I heard him tiptoe out of the room.I pulled my eyes open the moment I heard the door slam and I kept it that way until bright light reflection slowly began creeping in through the window. I'd thought it was Knox returning, but it was way more than just a single foot step. Totally curious of who it was, I turned my gaze slightly and found maid servants trooping in, their hands carrying a whole lot of baggage, gift wraps and lots more. I squinted my brows in confusion, wondering why they were all coming into my chamber and who could have sent them to me. One
KNOX'S POV Sable was sick, not in the way that could be explained. And I worried that something might be wrong. I couldn't shake the feeling that it had to do with me. Maybe I had bad genes. One which I wasn't aware of. How else could be explained her sudden shut down, like her body was allergic to the child in her womb.I questioned Isaiah over and over, but he said she was going to be fine. Some weeks back, I found myself in the human hospital questioning doctors about early pregnancy signs and symptoms. Maybe Sable was exhibiting a few traits of human women, but I was wrong. Their words weren't sounding as extreme as Sable's situation. Although everyone made sure to finish their words with all pregnancies differ and you get to see diverse symptoms. Those words often relieved me, but that was always just for a moment. I always go back to my worried state whenever I see Sable looking so helpless.
SABLE'S POVCorvin was here in the Den. Without giving prior knowledge to me. It's been a month since the whole Den got to know about my pregnancy. I guess the news had spread down to the whole park. Everyone knew, and now Corvin knew as well. I was able to get through the month with Knox by my side. He was always there whenever I needed him. In his words, the baby was his, exactly why he had to show up.He didn't settle with Alpha Bryn's and I could say whoever was sensitive enough must have certainly realized the true father of the child in my womb.Knox had assured me, he wasn't gonna let Alpha Bryn claim ownership of our child. Although how that was gonna happen hasn't been so clear to me. But the few times I'd seen the both men together, I could tell something was going on, something really tense. I hated the fact that I couldn't follow up with anything. Not with council meetings, not with ev
KNOX’S POV“I do not regret what I did Bryn.” I watched Alpha Bryn's gaze drop the moment I said those words. It was not in disappointment, but something else. Realization. He sighed out loudly before turning around and dragging himself back to his bed. Like he'd walked all the way just to stare into my face and tell me he was aware I'd been having sex with his wife. Well, obviously, that was all he was visibly trying to do. While at the same time reading my expression from a closer proximity.I remained fused on my feet as I watched him return to the bed. He sank into it, sighing out loudly before speaking. “Yeah I know you wouldn't.” He mumbled absent mindedly. He slowly turned his gaze towards me, letting out a smile. “Knox only does things yielding great results and of course, you've never had a reason to regret your actions.” He dropped his legs into the bed, groaning slightly in pain. “Like
KNOX'S POV I found myself sitting with Octavian, the last person anyone on earth would be willing to spend their day with. But at this point, I was willing to do anything to get my head off my current situation. Unlike always, I couldn't leave to the green considering Alpha Bryn wanted an audience with me before. I had no idea what he wanted to say or why he needed me around to celebrate my child or as we all know now, ‘his child’It seemed like he wanted to rub it all on my face. Make it clear that I belonged to him as much as Sable belonged to him. We were tied down to him and there was no way out, except of course I made a way. I thought of the future, thought of how I was gonna live staring at my child from a distance and not being able to come any closer to him. And worse? Hearing him/her call me Beta Knox rather than father. I didn't know if I could live with that and those thoughts kept me far away from my chamber. I hated to think that was the direction things were headed
SABLE'S POV Madame Rosa ended up confusing the shit out of me. I definitely would have been okay with not knowing anything rather than knowing a twisted truth. Now I knew there was something wrong with him and the cure was love or whatever bullshit she had said. How the fuck was I gonna love a man
CHAPTER 4: ComplicationsSable's POVThe air vanished from my lungs the moment I met his eyes.. It wasn't just his size though he was enormous. It wasn't even the inhuman, gold-flecked glow in his eyes, though that was seriously freaky. It was the sheer crushing weight of his presence that hit me
~SableBefore I could even process the noise.. the room was full of them... large grim-faced men in suits that did nothing to hide their thick necks and rude attitudes.I gasped, scrambling upright and clutching the soft white sheet to my chest. It was the only thing between me and total nudity.“W
~SableUp close with the stranger, the shadows melted away and my bravado almost did too.Holy shit..!The man was… fucking handsome! Like, stop-your-heart-and-then-kick-it-into-overdrive handsome. He was older, maybe early forties with little crinkles at the corners of his eyes that suggested he’
