LOGINChapter Two –
The Dinner I arrived at Golden Crown Hotel with my heart beating so fast it felt like it wanted to jump out of my chest. I kept telling myself this was a chance. Maybe if I showed up, Mama Grace and the rest of the family would see that I still cared. Maybe they would accept me. I walked into the bright, glittering hall. The smell of food, the soft music, the clinking of glasses—it was all so grand, so much more than I had imagined. For a second, I felt out of place in my simple dress, but I forced myself to stand tall. Then my eyes moved to the table. Four chairs. That was what I had expected. One for Mama Grace, one for my sister-in-law, one for Daniel, and one for me. But there were five chairs. My heart skipped. Why five? I blinked quickly, pretending not to notice. Maybe it was just an extra seat. Maybe I was overthinking. I walked forward and bent slightly. “Good evening, Mama. Good evening, Lena,” I greeted softly, trying to sound respectful. Mama Grace only nodded coldly. Lena, my sister-in-law, leaned back in her chair with a smirk. “So, you shamelessly came,” Lena said, her voice loud enough for everyone around to hear. Heat rose to my cheeks.i wanted to say, they called me to come, I wanted to melt into the ground, but I forced a small smile. “It’s Daniel’s birthday. Of course I would come.” She chuckled and whispered something into her mother’s ear. They both looked at me with the same expression, mockery. I sat down slowly, my hands tight on my small purse, my body stiff. I told myself to ignore them, to endure it just a little longer. Then, the doors opened. I turned my head, expecting to see Daniel walk in. And yes, it was him. My husband. Tall, handsome, with that same serious face he always carried. But my smile froze when I saw the woman beside him. He was holding her hand. I blinked once, twice. My vision blurred for a moment, and I felt my stomach twist. I knew that face. I had seen her pictures on his phone before. Each time I asked, Daniel told me she was just “an old friend.” He laughed it off, saying I was being insecure. But now… now she was here. Beside him. Holding his hand. I quickly bowed my head, burying my face. My chest ached as if someone had pushed a knife into it. Lena jumped to her feet instantly, her voice bright. “Sister!” she cried as she ran to hug the woman. “I am so happy you came.” The woman smiled and hugged her back. My heart sank deeper. So, this was Lena’s plan? She had brought her here. Even Daniel looked shocked. His eyes widened, and I could tell he had not expected this. Which meant… it was not his idea. It was Lena’s and that woman’s. But it didn’t matter. The picture was clear to everyone. My husband was walking in with another woman, hand in hand, while I sat there like a fool. People in the hall started whispering. I could hear the low voices, feel their stares burning into me. Lena’s eyes darted back to me, and she smirked. “Elena, do you see now? You are always disgracing our family. Look at you—sitting there like a stranger. Why don’t you just leave my brother alone? Let him be happy with a real woman.” Tears filled my eyes. I tried to blink them away, but they spilled down my cheeks before I could stop them. I wanted to speak, to defend myself, but no words came. My voice was trapped in my throat. The woman sat gracefully in the empty chair—the fifth chair. The chair I had ignored. Now I understood why it was there. It was for her. I pressed my hand to my chest, trying to hold myself together. But Lena wasn’t done. “You should have stayed home,” she spat. “Instead of coming here to embarrass us. Everyone knows you cannot give my brother a child. What kind of wife are you? Always following him around like a shadow. Always disgracing us!” Her words pierced my ears, sharper than knives. My vision blurred again as more tears ran down my face. I could hardly breathe. Then I felt a sudden grip on my arm. Strong, rough. Daniel. He had come to my side, his face dark, his jaw tight. Without saying a word, he dragged me up from my seat, his hand biting into my skin. “Daniel—” I gasped, my voice breaking. But he didn’t care. His grip only tightened. He pulled me roughly away from the table, away from the whispers and the stares, dragging me toward the corner of the hall. My heart pounded wildly. His face was stormy, unreadable. And in that moment, I didn’t know what hurt more—the humiliation from his family, or the fact that even he couldn’t handle me with care.Chapter 75 — A Dangerous SecretVanessa's POVThe moment I heard Ben's footsteps heading toward Elena's bedroom door, my heart skipped a beat.I quickly moved away from the door and started walking down the hallway, trying to look as normal as possible.I didn't want them to know I had been standing there.Listening.If Ben opened the door and saw me lingering outside, it would be obvious that I had been eavesdropping on their conversation. And that would ruin everything. So I walked a little farther down the hallway just in time. The door opened behind me.I continued walking calmly without turning around, as though I had simply been passing through the corridor. It wasn't until I turned the corner that I finally stopped. The calm expression on my face slowly disappeared.Leaning against the wall, I let out a long breath. My eyes narrowed."So... Elena is pregnant?" I murmured softly. The words felt strange on my tongue.Pregnant.For a moment, I stood there, thinking about everythin
Chapter — A Silent PromiseElena’s POVThe bedroom remained quiet after my call with Eli and Ela.I sat on the bed, loosely holding my phone in one hand. My thoughts were all over the place. Even though hearing my children's voices had made me happy, it had also left my heart feeling heavy.Slowly, I placed my phone beside me and leaned back against the pillows, staring up at the ceiling.Eli and Ela had said they managed to record Daniel.Solid evidence.Their lawyer believed they had a very good chance of winning the case. That news should have completely relieved me.And part of me truly did feel relieved. But another part of me was still worried.Winning a case against someone like Daniel would never be easy.Daniel was manipulative.Dangerous.He knew how to twist situations to his advantage.Slowly, I sat upright and rubbed my forehead.Maybe... what we really needed was a very good lawyer.Someone experienced.Someone who knew how to deal with people like Daniel.Suddenly, an i
Chapter 73 — A Broken HeartElena’s POVI walked quickly toward the bed, my legs trembling under the weight of everything I was feeling. The moment I reached the edge of the bed, I collapsed onto it heavily, as if all the strength in my body had suddenly disappeared.Tears were already streaming down my cheeks.I gripped the bedsheet tightly in my hands as my chest rose and fell painfully. Why…Why is my life always like this?I closed my eyes and let out a silent sob.“Is this really my destiny?” I whispered weakly. My voice trembled.“Can’t I have just one moment of peace?”Everything in my life felt complicated.Everything felt painful.Every time I thought things might finally get better… something happened and destroyed everything.Slowly, I placed my hand on my stomach. My baby. The only thing giving me strength now.But even this innocent little life was already surrounded by problems.“Why does everything have to be so frustrating…” I whispered through my tears. At that momen
Chapter 72 — A Mother’s JudgmentElena’s Point of ViewI was still standing in the middle of the living room when the front door opened again. My heart was already heavy from everything that had just happened. Vanessa was still leaning weakly against the elegant woman, pretending to be injured, while the woman continued staring at me as if I was the worst person she had ever seen.Footsteps entered the house.Strong. Familiar.Ben.The moment he walked into the living room, the woman’s expression changed immediately. The cold anger on her face disappeared, replaced by a bright smile.“Ben!” she called warmly.Ben looked surprised for a second, then his face immediately lit up.“Mom?”He quickly walked toward her. They hugged each other as if they had not seen one another in a long time.I remained standing there silently, watching them, feeling like I did not belong in that room. For a moment, everything between them seemed normal. Then his mother slowly pulled away from the embrace.
Chapter 71 — A Perfect TrapElena’s Point of ViewThe kitchen was silent. For the first time since I had returned to this house, everything felt calm. There were no harsh words, no cold stares, and no heavy tension hanging in the air like a storm waiting to break.Just silence.I stood in front of the stove, slowly stirring the soup in the pot. The gentle sound of it simmering filled the kitchen, while the warm scent of the food spread throughout the room.Cooking had always helped me think. My mind had been heavy since yesterday. Too much had happened. Vanessa. The baby. Ben. The secrets we were keeping. My hand gently rested on my stomach for a moment without me even realizing it.A small life was growing inside me.It still felt strange.I took a slow breath and focused my attention back on the pot.Maybe if I kept myself busy, my thoughts would eventually calm down. That was when I heard footsteps.Slow.Light.But very familiar. My body immediately stiffened.Vanessa.She walked
Chapter 70 — Just UsElena’s Point of View“Elena… come with me.”Ben’s voice was calm, but there was something deeper behind it, something serious that made me look up at him immediately. For a moment, I hesitated. The tension from my conversation with Vanessa still lingered heavily in the room, and her words continued replaying in my mind. But Ben was already standing, waiting for me.So I slowly stood up.Without saying another word, he turned around and started walking toward the hallway.I followed him.The house felt quiet now. Too quiet. The sound of our footsteps was the only thing breaking the silence surrounding us.I wondered where Vanessa had gone. Whether she was watching us, listening, or waiting for something. But Ben did not stop until we reached the bedroom. He opened the door and stepped aside.“Come in,” he said softly.I walked inside. The room felt peaceful and warm compared to the tension that had filled the living room. The soft glow from the lamp made the spac

Chapter One – Happy BirthdayI held the small chocolate cake in my hands, trying not to let them shake. I had saved little by little from my salary just to buy it. It wasn’t much, but I told myself it would be enough. After all, it’s not about how big the gift is, but the heart behind it.I had ev
