The ocean sparkled beneath the afternoon sun as Olivia stood barefoot in the sand, her wedding dress swaying gently in the breeze.

She still couldn't believe this day had finally arrived.

For most of her life, she had watched other women live moments like this.

She had sat in church pews and banquet halls, smiling as friends walked down aisles toward men who adored them.

She had clapped at engagement parties, posed for wedding photographs and caught bouquets she secretly hoped would bring her luck.

Yet deep down, there had always been a small part of her that wondered if her turn would ever come.

Now it had.

And somehow it still felt unreal.

"Stop crying."

Emma appeared beside her holding a tissue.

Olivia laughed through her tears.

"I'm not crying."

"You absolutely are."

Emma gently wiped her sister's cheek.

"Look at you."

Olivia glanced down at her dress.

Months earlier she had convinced herself that nothing would look good on her.

Now, standing in front of the mirror, she hardly recognized the woman staring back.

Not because she looked different.

Because she looked happy.

And happiness had a way of changing everything.

"You look beautiful," Emma whispered.

Olivia's eyes filled with tears again.

"Oh no."

Emma groaned.

"Don't start."

Both sisters burst into laughter.

For a moment, all the nerves disappeared.

Then a wedding coordinator poked her head into the room.

"It's time."

The words made Olivia's heart jump.

It was really happening.

Outside, rows of white chairs faced the ocean.

Guests filled nearly every seat.

The sound of waves drifted through the warm Miami air.

Flowers lined the aisle.

Soft music played in the background.

Everything looked perfect.

Ryan stood beneath a decorated archway waiting for her.

His hands were clasped in front of him.

A nervous smile sat on his face.

Charles Walker stood beside him.

Nathan Parker stood on the other side.

Ryan looked calm.

At least until the music changed.

Then he turned.

And saw Olivia.

The smile vanished from his face.

Not because he was unhappy.

Because he was overwhelmed.

For several seconds he simply stared.

The entire world seemed to disappear around him.

Charles nudged him lightly.

Ryan didn't even notice.

His eyes never left Olivia.

Emma smiled as she watched.

"Oh, he's gone."

Olivia laughed.

"What?"

Emma nodded toward Ryan.

"Completely gone."

The doors opened.

And Olivia began walking.

Step by step.

Heartbeat by heartbeat.

Toward the man she loved.

Toward the future she had always dreamed about.

Toward Ryan.

By the time she reached the altar, Ryan's eyes were shining.

"You okay?" Olivia whispered.

Ryan laughed softly.

"No."

She smiled.

"Good."

"Good?"

"You said being nervous means you're human."

Ryan shook his head.

"I definitely said that."

"See?"

He laughed again.

And just like that, the tension disappeared.

The ceremony felt like a blur.

One moment Olivia was walking down the aisle.

The next she was standing across from Ryan holding his hands.

The minister smiled warmly.

"Marriage is not about finding a perfect person."

Ryan squeezed Olivia's fingers.

"It's about choosing each other every day."

Olivia looked into Ryan's eyes.

He smiled.

The same smile that had greeted her at the airport months ago.

The same smile she had fallen in love with.

Soon it was time for the vows.

Ryan went first.

He unfolded a small piece of paper.

Then laughed.

"My handwriting is terrible."

Guests chuckled.

Olivia smiled.

Ryan looked at her.

His expression softened.

"Olivia, before I met you, I thought I understood what happiness looked like."

The room became quiet.

"You changed that."

Olivia felt tears gathering again.

"You taught me that happiness isn't found in achievements, money, or success."

Ryan swallowed.

"It's found in the people who make life worth living."

A tear slipped down Olivia's cheek.

"You are my best friend."

Ryan's voice cracked slightly.

"My safe place."

Another tear followed.

"And no matter what happens in this life, I promise I will choose you."

The words settled deep inside her heart.

The sweet words that she can never forget.

When it was Olivia's turn, she took a deep breath.

Everyone was watching.

Yet all she could see was Ryan.

"You changed my life."

Her voice trembled.

Ryan smiled.

"You walked into my world when I least expected it."

A few guests laughed.

"Actually, I spilled coffee into your world."

More laughter followed.

Even Ryan laughed.

Then Olivia became serious.

"For a long time, I believed I wasn't enough."

Ryan's expression softened.

"But you never made me feel that way."

Silence filled the air.

"You loved me exactly as I am."

Tears burned behind her eyes.

"And because of that, you helped me love myself."

Ryan's eyes glistened.

"I promise to stand beside you through every good day and every bad one."

She squeezed his hands.

"No matter what."

The minister smiled.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife."

Cheers erupted instantly.

Ryan didn't wait.

He pulled Olivia into his arms and kissed her.

The crowd applauded.

Emma cried openly.

Charles wiped his eyes.

Nathan smiled.

And even Victoria managed a polite clap.

For one perfect moment, everything felt right.

The future stretched before them like a beautiful dream.

Neither Olivia nor Ryan could see the storm waiting years ahead.

Neither knew that one day another woman would step into their lives and change everything.

Today wasn't about heartbreak or betrayal or karma

Today was about love.

And for now, love was enough.

The following Monday began like any other. Olivia arrived at work a few minutes before eight, balancing a cup of coffee and a folder of reports as she stepped into the elevator. The weekend gala was still fresh in her mind. She and Ryan had spent most of Sunday relaxing at home, watching old movies and ordering takeout. It had been one of those simple weekends she loved. The kind that reminded her why she had fallen in love with him in the first place. As the elevator doors opened, Olivia walked toward her office, greeting coworkers along the way. "Morning, Olivia." "Good morning." "How was your weekend?" "Busy," she replied with a smile. "But good." She had barely settled into her chair when her phone buzzed. A text message. She glanced down at the screen. The moment she saw the sender's name, her eyes widened. Chloe Anderson. For a second, Olivia simply stared. She wasn't imagining it. The message was real. After nearly six years of silence, Chloe A

For the first year of marriage, Olivia sometimes woke up in the middle of the night just to make sure it was all real. She would lie awake beside Ryan and listen to the steady sound of his breathing. Sometimes one of his arms would be draped across her waist. Other times he would be sprawled across half the bed, completely unaware that he was taking up far more space than necessary. Every time it made her smile. Their apartment wasn't fancy. It wasn't one of the luxury homes overlooking the ocean. It wasn't the kind of place people showed off on social media. But it was theirs. And somehow that made it perfect. One Saturday morning, Olivia walked into the kitchen and found Ryan standing in front of the stove. Smoke was filled the room. A pan sat forgotten on the burner. Something black and unrecognizable was slowly turning into charcoal. Olivia stopped in the doorway. "Ryan." Her husband turned. A guilty expression immediately appeared on his face. "G
