Everyone burst into laughter and shook their heads.

In their eyes, this was a bet I had no chance of winning.

I could barely move, and I was carrying my son on my back. How could I possibly escape the hyenas and the young, strong survival game NPC?

But Camilla didn't care at all. She pushed her chips forward.

"One million dollars. For Jack's entertainment."

"Camilla, you're so generous! You're willing to bet a million dollars for your lover like it's nothing. Wasn't that wedding ring you gave Frank back then only worth 100 dollars? If he knew about this, he'd probably bawl his eyes out! Haha!"

Camilla lit a cigar for Jack and spoke as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

"A lover is meant to be spoiled. Frank has always been sensible and frugal. Giving him a supplementary card was enough to make him happy."

Listening to her voice, I couldn't make it match the woman in my memories. The woman who once loved me more than anything would never say all this.

We had been together for eight years. I watched her transform from a poor college student into the richest woman in Jaxonville.

When she proposed to me, she went down on one knee and held out a 100-dollar ring. Before she could even say a word, she was already crying so hard she could barely keep herself upright.

In the end, I was the one who leaned in and kissed her first. I laughed and told her I would marry her while reaching out to let her put the ring on my finger.

I thought I had the kind of love everyone envied. I never imagined she had been keeping a lover for five years.

To make sure the one-million-dollar bet was worth it, the survival game NPC covered my head with a hood. They grabbed the rope around my neck and lifted me completely off the ground. All my data was displayed to the cameras from all directions.

I hung there half-dead with my feet dangling in the air like a broken doll.

Below me was a horrifying pool of red.

The host projected the data panel onto the giant screen and let out a surprised gasp.

"Two hearts. That's incredibly rare. Two hearts beating as one. That's a perfect symbol of eternal love."

Through the hood, I saw Camilla's expression change. She loosened her arm around Jack slightly.

I thought she had recognized me. A wave of bitterness surged through my chest.

But the next second, she smiled. "I thought Frank was already rare enough. I never expected to find someone with the exact same condition."

Watching her slowly lean back into her seat, I felt completely hopeless.

With all my remaining strength, I made a hand gesture.

It was the gesture we created the first time I got lost at an amusement park. Back then, Camilla looked at me with endless tenderness.

"Frank, if you ever get lost again, just make this gesture. Even if you're wearing a costume mask in a crowd, I'll recognize you instantly!"

When I finally used that gesture for real, her eyes were filled with disgust. Without hesitation, she ordered them to break my fingers.

"That gesture belongs only to Frank! You're already in this pathetic state, and you still want to pretend to be him to seduce me!

"Put two more hyenas in there. I want him to learn his lesson!"

The hyenas sank their filthy fangs into all parts of my body. I shielded my son while screaming and rolling on the ground. Blood trailed behind us.

Camilla's best friend cheered the loudest. Her voice was full of envy.

"I'm telling you, Frank is the luckiest man alive. You've treated him so well all these years. He has to be the happiest man in Jaxonville!

"This cripple isn't nearly as lucky. He ended up with a terrible wife. He can only blame himself."

"Camilla, didn't the priest ever tell you that when you make too many unrealistic prayers, God won't hear them?"With every word I said, Camilla's face turned paler. Her back bent lower too.She then pulled a knife from under her clothes.I moved back instinctively.Instead, Camilla turned the handle toward me and placed it on my hand. Her eyes were bloodshot."I just want you to stop feeling angry. You can have the knife. Kill me. I won't complain at all!"She said those words, but there was no fear in her eyes.Seeing me loosely holding the knife, the certainty in her eyes grew stronger. She believed I would never do it.I didn't expose the truth, but I didn't show her any kindness either."Really? But why? Didn't you love Jack more than anything?"If I die, wouldn't he finally be able to become your husband openly?"My words were only a test, but she immediately raised her hand and swore in front of Jack."Frank, please believe me! I only wanted to experience something n

"Camilla, it hurts!"Camilla didn't spare Jack another glance. The moment her eyes met mine, she hurried toward me.But when she was only one step away, I forced out a hoarse voice with all my strength."Don't come near me. You monster!"The coldness in my eyes pierced Camilla deeply. Her eyes immediately filled with tears. In the past, whenever she acted pitiful, no matter what mistake she made, I would forgive her.But this time, even if she cried herself blind in front of me, I would never feel the slightest bit of pity again.Camilla dropped to her knees without hesitation. She crawled toward me on her knees. Ignoring my struggle, she grabbed my hand tightly."Frank, I was wrong. Please forgive me, okay? I've completely cut ties with Jack. From now on, I'll only love you for the rest of my life!"I know you're just angry right now. You hate me because I killed our son."I'll make it up to you. Trust me. I've really changed!"She cried until she couldn't speak. But the

Jack noticed that Camilla had become extremely busy recently. He could barely see her anymore. She was either at the hospital where I was being treated or at the company. The constant back-and-forth pushed both her body and mind to the edge of collapse.Jack was overjoyed. He thought his opportunity had finally arrived. So he put on the white coat Camilla used to love seeing him wear. He then hid in the resting room inside her office. When Camilla pushed open the door, she saw an extremely suggestive scene. In the past, whenever Jack wore this outfit, Camilla would immediately throw herself at him. The bed would creak all night long. Now, seeing the woman's hand resting on her shoulder, Jack trembled with excitement. Camilla couldn't accept the fact that I had gone into a coma. It felt like some kind of unavoidable fate.Camilla picked up the ring and stared at it for a long time. After a while, she finally spoke in a dazed whisper. "H-How could this be?"Jack sensed something was wrong. He reached out and grabbed her arm, but she pushed him away instantly. Then, as if she had finally accepted the truth, she stumbled toward me."Frank. Honey, is it really you?"How could this happen? You had so many chances, why didn't you say anything?"Camilla's eyes were filled with unbearable regret. She looked like she was about to bleed tears, but watching her only made me want to sneer. Why didn't I say anything? Then what was the hand gesture I desperately made? What did all those times I tried to grab her hand mean?I had used every bit of strength I had to tell her I was Frank, but what did I get in return?I had received threats and slaps that knocked out my teeth.Camilla clearly thought of the baby whose chest had been cut open. She suddenly froze, an

I might have died. The moment I closed my eyes, all the pain throughout my body disappeared.Drifting in a daze, I thought I could finally get a good rest, but then my body started floating upward uncontrollably. It wasn't until I found myself standing among the doctors with tearful eyes and looking down at the blood-covered person on the operating table that I realized I was probably dead.If the young nurse hadn't still been tightly holding the hand of the person on the operating table, I almost wouldn't have believed that person was me.In less than a day, the man who used to be obsessed with cleanliness had become someone who looked like he had been picked out of a garbage pile.My entire body was covered in blood and mud, and it gave off the sour stench of sweat.Countless wounds covered my body from head to toe.The scarred skin had turned an unnatural pale color. My mouth was filled with bits of cotton fluff. The young nurse was crying as she carefully pulled them out.
