As soon as we arrived on the island, we headed straight to the villa where we’d be staying. There were six of us in total—three guys and the three of us girls.

And yes, I managed to convince Xerces. As expected, he had no plans to come at first, but I kept insisting, and I guess he got annoyed enough with my nonstop nagging that he eventually gave up.

  • Tempting My Ex’s Brother    Chapter 29

Later that night, we gathered around a bonfire on the beach. We’d already gone swimming earlier, though I’d spent most of my time in the pool. The afternoon sun over the shoreline had been unbearably intense. Maybe tomorrow I’d finally give the ocean a chance and try some of the water activities.I wandered over to where Xerces was tending the grill, casually flipping skewers of barbecue. Without saying anything, I stopped beside him. He glanced at me from the corner of his eye, one eyebrow arching.“Want some barbecue?”I shook my head. “I want a hotdog.”He reached for one that had just been grilled and held it ou

As soon as we arrived on the island, we headed straight to the villa where we’d be staying. There were six of us in total—three guys and the three of us girls. And yes, I managed to convince Xerces. As expected, he had no plans to come at first, but I kept insisting, and I guess he got annoyed enough with my nonstop nagging that he eventually gave up.After all, no one could resist my charm.“So… what do you think of him?” Lana asked after putting our things away in the cabinets.I jumped onto my bed and faced her. We’re sharing the same room, and the boys are too. Before coming here, we’d already introduced ourselves to each othe

As a child, I was in a hurry to grow up. I thought adulthood meant freedom. Funny how things turned out. Now, all I want is to be that little girl again—the one whose biggest dilemma was choosing clothes for her Barbie dolls. I’ve always heard how much adulthood sucks, but you will never really understand how exhausting it is until you experience it yourself. Sometimes, I honestly wish I could crawl back into my mother’s womb and start over.Money is great, but so is having a will to live. At this point, I think I need a full year off just to romanticize my life again.“Jesus, it’s freakin’ hot,” Lana grumbled. “I’m still alive, but I swear this is what hell must feel like.”“Consider it an early orientation. You still have time to repent,” Elizabeth teased with a grin.“Shut up. Stop talking about yourself.”“Oh, please. With a list of sins as long as yours, I wouldn’t be so confident if I were you.”I shook my head wh

“Thank God you’re here,” I said the moment he stepped inside his house.Xerces froze at the sight of me sitting comfortably on his couch as if I belonged there. His expression immediately shifted to shock.“How did you even get in here?”I tilted my head slightly toward the window behind him. The glass was broken.“I came through there,” I said simply. His jaw literally dropped. A string of curses slipped out under his breath as he turned back to me, eyes blazing.“What did you do?!”“Don’t worry, I’ll pay for the damages.”His jaw clenched even harder. “Why do you always bring trouble into my house?” he muttered through gritted teeth, walking closer until he stood right in front of me.He dropped his briefcase on the small table with a loud thud and placed both hands on his hips.“I need to ask you something,” I said before he could continue his rant.“How urgent is it that you had to

As I pulled up in front of Xerces’s house, I stepped out of the car and walked toward his front door. I knocked once, then twice, but there was no response. I pressed the doorbell several times after that, yet the house remained quiet. With no other choice, I headed straight to my house and took a quick shower instead. After getting dressed, I made my way to my bedroom balcony, where I could see the street clearly. His favorite car wasn’t parked in his garage, so I knew he wasn’t home yet.The next day, I tried again to talk to him, but it seemed like he hadn’t been home last night. I started getting ready. I chose a simple but classy dress and grabbed Zeus’s number from my bedside table before sending him a message. To: ZeusWhere are we meeting?I’m sorry but I think I’m gonna be late. I’m still finishing a few things.I finished my makeup, setting it lightly with powder while waiting for a reply.Zeus: No wo

“Morning,” I greeted Xerces the next day.Like usual, he was already in the kitchen making breakfast.“Hmm,” he responded with a short nod.He turned off the stove after finishing whatever he was cooking. I settled onto one of the stools and quietly watched him prepare the plates.“By the way, thank you,” I said, breaking the silence between us.“I had no choice.”“You did. You just chose to be kind.”“I’m not kind.”“I didn’t say you are,” I pointed out with a grin. “But you did something good. And doing one good deed doesn’t automatically make you a kind person. But still…”I honestly believe he is a good man underneath all that attitude. I just wanted to tease him. And judging by the way his brows immediately knitted together, I’d say it worked.***“Good morning, Doc,” Xena greeted the moment I walked into the clinic.“Morning.” I smiled at her briefly before placing my bag down. “How many appointments do we have today?”“Eleven so far. First patient’s at 9:30.”“Okay. Just call m
