LOGINAfter Elora left the Moonlight Pack, Valerie stopped going to the clubhouse they always went to. She spent most of her time indoors, painting, reading, and chatting with Elora whenever she had the chance, and when she was bored, she visited every place in the Moonlight Pack they had visited together.
So many times, her father tried to make her become friends with Luella but Valerie wouldn't budge. She was comfortable with having only Elora as a friend even though she is no longer around her. She also did not feel comfortable with Luella; Valerie thinks she pretends a lot. "I think you should go out and have some fun," Elora had told her during one of their long calls. "But you are not here anymore," Valerie had replied to her. Elora was always the reason she was willing to go out but now that she is no longer here, Valerie doesn't have to zeal anymore. "I know. But please go out and have fun," Elora insisted. "You can't keep being sad because of that. I won't be happy about that." Valerie assured Elora that she would try her best, but days passed, and they were back to having the same conversation. Not only did Valerie not go out to have some fun, but she also remained indoors for a long time. "But you promised me," Elora told her. "I tried," Valerie replied. "But I couldn't bring myself to leave my room." "You just have to try harder, Valerie," Elora encouraged her. "I wish I could come back to the Moonlight Pack soon, but the Ice Pack is far away and there are so many things to get familiar with." Valerie sighed. She understands. Elora is just getting familiar with the Ice Pack; she can't leave yet. "Your dad called me, Val. He sounded so worried about you. Can you try to go out today? Or even speak to a few people." Valerie shook her head. She wasn't going to accept that. She can still remember vividly how the Pack members had treated her badly and are still treating her badly. "I am not speaking to anyone here, Elora. You know..." "I know and I understood you perfectly. But I still want you to be happy. How about you go to the club? Maybe..." "I tried so many times, but when I got to the gate, I went back." Elora sighed. What can she do to make Valerie happy? She was worried that if this continued, Valerie would go back into her shell. "How about I call the driver to pick you up today?" Elora asked. "I do not think I want to go," Valerie said and that ended the conversation. Elora decided to speak to her about something different. Although she wanted her friend to go out and have fun, she wasn't going to force her into doing it. They talked for a while before the call ended. Valerie decided to take a stroll and maybe visit her father; she doesn't want him to be too worried about her. She changed into more comfortable clothes, picked up her phone, and then left the room. Valerie met a few maids on her way out of the Pack house. A few of them greeted her, while others ignored her. Valerie ignored them too and went to the training ground. She decided she was not going to visit the places she had visited with Elora, but instead went to places she had never visited. She met some warriors practicing. Those who recognized her greeted her and those who did not just kept staring at her strangely. Surprisingly, Valerie felt happy watching them. She found a spot and then sat down. She took pictures and sent them to Elora, telling her she had found a new interest. By the time Valerie left the training ground, she had one thing in mind: to become a warrior too. She visited her father to tell him what she wanted to do. "I don't want that for you," her father told her. "Being a warrior is stressful." Valerie insisted that was what she wanted and her father had no option but to give in. "But on one condition," her father told her. "I don't want you to remain indoors. Go out, have fun, and stop making me worry about you." Valerie assured her father that she would stop staying indoors and try to make friends. "But I can't assure you that they will make friends with me." Her father nodded. For as long as his daughter comes out of her shell and is happy again, he is satisfied. Valerie left her father's place and instead of returning to her room, she joined the rest at the dining table. Everyone was surprised to see her but they said nothing about it, except Luella, who could not keep shut about it. "I did not expect to see you here." "Well, I am here now," Valerie answered. Before dinner was served, Luella tried to start a conversation with Valerie but she was turned down politely. "So rude," Luella mumbled. Dinner was served and they went on to eat. Valerie left the table before the others, but did not go back to her room. She went on a stroll down the street instead. Valerie walked in silence for a while with a lot running through her mind. She was beginning to think whether her decision to become a warrior was a good one and if they would accept her or treat her like others do. They must know about her curse. She thought. What if they stay away from her? Becoming a warrior would be difficult. Valerie's phone began to ring, jolting her out of her thoughts. It was Elora calling; she picked it up. "Val, I might not be able to speak to you for the next few weeks," Elora said. "Why?" Valerie asked. "My dad wants me to learn the Pack rules and also go to council meetings with him," Elora answered. "I might also be traveling with him in a few days." Valerie groaned. If Elora gets busy, what is she supposed to do? But she can't stop Elora from doing what she is supposed to do. She sighed. "For how long will that be?" "You mean when we are going to return?" Elora asked. "I am not sure of that. But I will try to get in touch as soon as I can." Valerie nodded. "I will be expecting your call soon." After the call ended, Valerie returned to the Pack house. She saw Luella lurking around. She seems to be on a call, which she ended the moment she saw Valerie. "What are you doing over there?" Valerie wanted to ask but she decided against it. "Hi," Luella mumbled. "Hi," Valerie waved back. "Do you ever go out?" Luella asked. "Like clubbing? Don't you ever get bored?" "I do not get bored," Valerie answered. "You..." "Good night, Luella," Valerie ended the conversation. Luella was angry that Valerie cut her short. She wasn't trying to be friends with her because she wanted to but because her father insisted. "Whatever," she mumbled before entering the Pack house too.Valerie opened her eyes to see pairs of eyes staring at her. She sat up quickly."Is there a problem?" She asked.Beside her bed were Joanne, Fiona, Sarah, and Anne."There is no problem ma'am," Joanne answered. "It's almost time for the meeting. We have to get you ready."Valerie stared at the wall clock. It was a few minutes past six.She stood up from the bed and stretched."What are the plans?""Fiona will prepare your bath," Joanne answered. "While we wait, you can pick your dress. The Alpha sent in a few of them." Valerie nodded, looking around. "Where are the dresses?""They will be brought in soon," Joanne said. She turned to face Anne and Sarah. "You can go and bring them."Anne and Sarah left the room and returned with two racks of clothes. Valerie moved closer to them and began to check them. She finally settled for a blue dress. "I will go with this one."Anne came out of the bathroom. "Your bath is ready."Joanne took the dress from Valerie and placed it on the bed. Vale
Leonard was shocked but he loved it. He held her when she tried to move away."Running away?" He asked.Valerie stared at him. She wasn't running away. What else was she supposed to do? "Not so fast," he mumbled, pulling her closer to him.He locked his lips on hers, kissing her so tightly. Valerie groaned. She tried to pull away but he held her close.Leonard's hands moved around her waist. He pulled her to sit on his lap. Valerie moved slightly, trying to stand up. His hands held her waist pulling her closer to him.Valerie wanted to punch him but she couldn't. He seemed to have suspected that, because he held her hands with his left hand while holding her closely to himself with his right hand.Valerie groaned. How long was he going to kiss her even when she wasn't kissing him back?He bit her lips and then released her. Valerie stood up from his lap, nursing her bitten lips, while trying to catch her breath."That's your punishment," he mumbled with a smirk.Valerie was supposed
Valerie could not understand why Diana was being dragged into the situation. That they are brother and sister doesn't mean Diana is involved. There isn't any proof yet that Bryan is in cahoots with Luella or Beta Nathan.Valerie shook her head. "You can't do that. She's not even working with me as the Luna.""Do you think she wouldn't know?" Leonard asked. "Luella already knows you are married to me right?"Valerie nodded. What does that prove?"Bryan will definitely know that too. If he does, why do you think Diana won't?"Valerie groaned. She understands that Leonard might have trust issues. Maybe because of what happened to his parents but that doesn't mean he has to suspect everyone."I don't think Luella told him," Valerie answered.Leonard scoffed. "You don't think? You're not even sure.""Because Bryan never said anything about it to me," Valerie answered. She was getting pissed off but she tried to keep her cool. "Luella promised to keep it a secret."Leonard scoffed again. "A
"Are they werewolves?" Valerie whispered. "I don't think they are.""Of course, they are. Why would you say that?""I..."Leonard tapped the table slightly and they stopped talking."Babe," he called.Valerie looked around for whom Leonard was referring to.Ariel nudged her. "He is talking to you."Valerie blinked slightly. He had never called her that not even in front of the elders. Why is he calling her that now?"Ye-yes?""These are the teachers I have chosen for you. They are the best. You can decide to have them all as your teachers or you can choose the ones you want."Valerie stared at them. She didn't feel comfortable around them. She didn't know why."Have you made your choice?" Ariel asked."They can all stay," Valerie answered."Thank you, Luna," they chorused uniformly."Arden, you can take them out and brief them again on the rules and their jobs," Leonard said."Yes, Alpha," Arden stood up and bowed. "Come with me," he told the teachers and they followed him out.Valeri
"He did not use a ruthless means to win them over but he also did not let them override him. He punishes anyone who tries to harm the Pack. Although the Pack members did not know this was the reason a lot of people were punished, they believed he punished others without investigation and always punished good people."Leonard did not make it clear, did he?"Why did he not tell them?""Because he thinks they don't need to know," Ariel answered."Is he not scared that they will misunderstand him? Which of course they are already doing," Valerie said."He doesn't care," Ariel answered. "I think it's a good thing though."Valerie sighed. Maybe it is. However, she doesn't think that."So what are you going to do?" Ariel asked. "About him investigating Diana?"Valerie shrugged. Is there anything she can do? "He can go ahead and investigate her. I know she is innocent."Ariel nodded. "That way you will not have to worry about anything."Valerie turned to face her. "I have been meaning to ask
"I am not doubting you," Leonard answered. "But I need to keep you safe."Valerie did not believe that Leonard intended to keep her safe, but she said nothing.Diana is a good person. She is certain about that. But she is still angry that he insisted on investigating her even when she said no.She did not say anything to him, nor did she look at him."Are you angry?" He asked, but Valerie ignored her. "You don't have to be. I am just looking out for you."Valerie shook her head. "No, you are not.""I am," Leonard answered. "Why would you even say that?""I told you not to investigate her. Diana is a good girl. She...""I never said she wasn't," Leonard cut her short.Valerie frowned. "Then why do you insist on investigating her?""Because those you trust can betray you."Valerie groaned. "Can? That doesn't mean they will, right?"Leonard stared at her. Why does Valerie not want to understand that he is trying to keep her safe? Why is she insisting that he shouldn't investigate her? H
They began to murmur among themselves. A few people threw little stones at her while others stared at her with disdain.Valerie slowed down on her steps. Something bad has happened to the Park; she could feel and see that but what it was, she couldn't say. She wanted to ask someone what was going o
With no word from Elora and no one to talk to, Valerie became very bored and tired of her usual daily routine: wake up, eat, paint, read a book, sleep, go for personal training, eat, and go back to sleep again. She decided that she was going to go out again and have some fun; it was better than rep
It was finally the day for Elora to leave the Moonlight Pack, but Valerie could not bring herself to see her off, so she stayed indoors. She watched through the window to see when Elora would walk past; thank goodness her window leads to the main gate.Valerie thought about the last two days they h
"I am so sorry," the man apologised but Valerie ignored him."Sorry for yourself!" She mumbled, as she tried to walk past him. Someone pushed her, and she almost fell. The man was quick to grab her by the waist and pull her up. Valerie got angry about it and pushed him away."Are you trying to take
