LOGINWith no word from Elora and no one to talk to, Valerie became very bored and tired of her usual daily routine: wake up, eat, paint, read a book, sleep, go for personal training, eat, and go back to sleep again.
She decided that she was going to go out again and have some fun; it was better than repeating the same routine. First, she called their driver to confirm if he would be available to pick her up. He was happy to hear from her again and promised to pick her up at the usual time. Next, Valerie picked out the clothes and shoes she would be wearing. She had them arranged on the couch and then went on to take her bath. She got dressed in her pyjamas and sat on the bed to read a book. It was just a few minutes past eight; with about four hours left before she leaves. Valerie got bored reading and decided to sleep for a few hours. She made sure to set her alarm for ten, or she might not make it in time; Elora had always been her alarm clock. By 10, Valerie was up. She began to get ready, and by eleven, she was ready to leave. Before she left the room, she made sure to pile up clothes and make it look like a figure to deceive whoever came into her room. Valerie waited until it was thirty minutes past eleven before jumping out of the window. A familiar breeze blew across her face and she smiled. How she wished Elora were here. Valerie walked down the very familiar street. She had walked down it a few times without leaving the pack but this time she was determined to leave. She stopped by a coffee shop and stared into it. This was Elora's best spot; she loved coffee so much. Elora would have stopped by to get a cup of coffee. She thought. "Hi, Val," the coffee shop owner waved at her and she waved back. He is one of the few people who cared less about the rumor surrounding her. Valerie waved back. "Hi." "You must miss your friend," he said. "I miss her too. She's one of my favourite customers." Valerie smiled. Who wouldn't miss Elora? She is such a sweet girl. "Are you going out to have some fun?" He asked and Valerie nodded. "I can tell you finally made up your mind. I have seen you a few times walking down the street after Miss Elora left, but you were back so quickly. I guess you haven't made up your mind then." "I can't always run away. Can I?" Valerie mumbled. "See you around." "See you around. And do have fun." He waved. Valerie continued her journey to the gate feeling better now. She was happy she made that decision. When she got to the gate, the driver was already waiting for her. He waved at her. "Over here." Valerie joined him in the car and they left. The first few minutes of the drive were silent; Valerie looked through the window. She noticed a few things had changed since the last time she went out with Elora. She looked at the empty seat beside hers and sighed. "Missing your friend?" The driver asked. Valerie smiled. "I do. I miss her so much." "I can tell that you do. I am sure she misses you, too," the driver said, and Valerie nodded. After a while, the car stopped in front of the clubhouse, and Valerie stepped out. "See you in two hours," the driver waved. Valerie entered the club and headed to the bar. "Miss Valerie!" The bartender was happy to see Valerie. "It's been so long." Valerie chose a stool and sat down. "It's good to see you, Alex." "It is good to see you too, Miss Valerie," Alex answered. "I heard your friend is the missing daughter of the Ice Pack Alpha, and she has already left. You must miss her so much." Valerie nodded. "I do." "I miss her too," Alex said. "Should I bring your usual?" Valerie nodded. "Yes, please." Alex went to get Valerie's drink, while Valerie watched as others danced. A man walked up to her. "Would you like to dance with me?" "No, I don't," Valerie answered. "Do you want to share a drink with me?" Another man asked. "Not interested," Valerie answered. Alex returned with her drink and handed it over to her. "Thank you, Alex," Valerie said. Alex smiled. "Do you know today is the first time you called me by my name? I thought you didn't know my name." Valerie sighed. She knew his name but never had the reason to call him by his name. She doesn't know why she did that today, though. Alex went on to attend to others while Valerie finished her drink. She stood up and went to the stage to dance. She had decided to have as much fun as she could and not think about anything. After dancing for a while, she went out to get some fresh air and then went back to take a few more drinks. "You are going to get drunk," Alex told her several times. "I think you need to stop now." Valerie drank a few more cups, lamenting how much she misses Elora. Alex listened whenever he could, sympathising with her when he could too. Valerie stood up and went on to dance again. She became tired and decided to go back home. "I am leaving, Alex," she waved at him. "Are you coming tomorrow?" Alex asked and she nodded. "See you tomorrow, then." "See you tomorrow, Alex." Valerie left the clubhouse and sat outside to wait for the driver. She also wanted to sober up before she returned to the Pack house. When the driver finally showed up, she joined him in the car and they left. "Did you have fun today?" He asked. Valerie nodded. "Yes, I did." She went on to tell him how much fun she had. She was so happy saying it, it made the driver smile. "I am so happy you enjoyed yourself. Miss Elora would be happy to hear that." Valerie smiled. "I am sure she would." They went to talk about other things and by the time they got to the Moonlight Pack, Valerie had sobered up. The car stopped in front of the Moonlight Pack gate. Valerie came down from the car and waved at the driver. "See you tomorrow." The driver left and Valerie walked through the gate. The guards who always stayed at the gate were not there; Valerie wondered where they were. Valerie thought she would meet an empty street as usual, but was surprised to see people. They were all wailing; some seemed injured. Did something happen? Valerie wondered. Valerie could not ask anyone what had happened but she knew it was something terrible. Her heart began to beat fast and she hastened her steps. A lot of people pointed fingers at her, accusing her of whatever had happened. Valerie got to the Pack house to see it in disarray. "She is back," someone pointed at her.Valerie opened her eyes to see pairs of eyes staring at her. She sat up quickly."Is there a problem?" She asked.Beside her bed were Joanne, Fiona, Sarah, and Anne."There is no problem ma'am," Joanne answered. "It's almost time for the meeting. We have to get you ready."Valerie stared at the wall clock. It was a few minutes past six.She stood up from the bed and stretched."What are the plans?""Fiona will prepare your bath," Joanne answered. "While we wait, you can pick your dress. The Alpha sent in a few of them." Valerie nodded, looking around. "Where are the dresses?""They will be brought in soon," Joanne said. She turned to face Anne and Sarah. "You can go and bring them."Anne and Sarah left the room and returned with two racks of clothes. Valerie moved closer to them and began to check them. She finally settled for a blue dress. "I will go with this one."Anne came out of the bathroom. "Your bath is ready."Joanne took the dress from Valerie and placed it on the bed. Vale
Leonard was shocked but he loved it. He held her when she tried to move away."Running away?" He asked.Valerie stared at him. She wasn't running away. What else was she supposed to do? "Not so fast," he mumbled, pulling her closer to him.He locked his lips on hers, kissing her so tightly. Valerie groaned. She tried to pull away but he held her close.Leonard's hands moved around her waist. He pulled her to sit on his lap. Valerie moved slightly, trying to stand up. His hands held her waist pulling her closer to him.Valerie wanted to punch him but she couldn't. He seemed to have suspected that, because he held her hands with his left hand while holding her closely to himself with his right hand.Valerie groaned. How long was he going to kiss her even when she wasn't kissing him back?He bit her lips and then released her. Valerie stood up from his lap, nursing her bitten lips, while trying to catch her breath."That's your punishment," he mumbled with a smirk.Valerie was supposed
Valerie could not understand why Diana was being dragged into the situation. That they are brother and sister doesn't mean Diana is involved. There isn't any proof yet that Bryan is in cahoots with Luella or Beta Nathan.Valerie shook her head. "You can't do that. She's not even working with me as the Luna.""Do you think she wouldn't know?" Leonard asked. "Luella already knows you are married to me right?"Valerie nodded. What does that prove?"Bryan will definitely know that too. If he does, why do you think Diana won't?"Valerie groaned. She understands that Leonard might have trust issues. Maybe because of what happened to his parents but that doesn't mean he has to suspect everyone."I don't think Luella told him," Valerie answered.Leonard scoffed. "You don't think? You're not even sure.""Because Bryan never said anything about it to me," Valerie answered. She was getting pissed off but she tried to keep her cool. "Luella promised to keep it a secret."Leonard scoffed again. "A
"Are they werewolves?" Valerie whispered. "I don't think they are.""Of course, they are. Why would you say that?""I..."Leonard tapped the table slightly and they stopped talking."Babe," he called.Valerie looked around for whom Leonard was referring to.Ariel nudged her. "He is talking to you."Valerie blinked slightly. He had never called her that not even in front of the elders. Why is he calling her that now?"Ye-yes?""These are the teachers I have chosen for you. They are the best. You can decide to have them all as your teachers or you can choose the ones you want."Valerie stared at them. She didn't feel comfortable around them. She didn't know why."Have you made your choice?" Ariel asked."They can all stay," Valerie answered."Thank you, Luna," they chorused uniformly."Arden, you can take them out and brief them again on the rules and their jobs," Leonard said."Yes, Alpha," Arden stood up and bowed. "Come with me," he told the teachers and they followed him out.Valeri
"He did not use a ruthless means to win them over but he also did not let them override him. He punishes anyone who tries to harm the Pack. Although the Pack members did not know this was the reason a lot of people were punished, they believed he punished others without investigation and always punished good people."Leonard did not make it clear, did he?"Why did he not tell them?""Because he thinks they don't need to know," Ariel answered."Is he not scared that they will misunderstand him? Which of course they are already doing," Valerie said."He doesn't care," Ariel answered. "I think it's a good thing though."Valerie sighed. Maybe it is. However, she doesn't think that."So what are you going to do?" Ariel asked. "About him investigating Diana?"Valerie shrugged. Is there anything she can do? "He can go ahead and investigate her. I know she is innocent."Ariel nodded. "That way you will not have to worry about anything."Valerie turned to face her. "I have been meaning to ask
"I am not doubting you," Leonard answered. "But I need to keep you safe."Valerie did not believe that Leonard intended to keep her safe, but she said nothing.Diana is a good person. She is certain about that. But she is still angry that he insisted on investigating her even when she said no.She did not say anything to him, nor did she look at him."Are you angry?" He asked, but Valerie ignored her. "You don't have to be. I am just looking out for you."Valerie shook her head. "No, you are not.""I am," Leonard answered. "Why would you even say that?""I told you not to investigate her. Diana is a good girl. She...""I never said she wasn't," Leonard cut her short.Valerie frowned. "Then why do you insist on investigating her?""Because those you trust can betray you."Valerie groaned. "Can? That doesn't mean they will, right?"Leonard stared at her. Why does Valerie not want to understand that he is trying to keep her safe? Why is she insisting that he shouldn't investigate her? H
They began to murmur among themselves. A few people threw little stones at her while others stared at her with disdain.Valerie slowed down on her steps. Something bad has happened to the Park; she could feel and see that but what it was, she couldn't say. She wanted to ask someone what was going o
After Elora left the Moonlight Pack, Valerie stopped going to the clubhouse they always went to. She spent most of her time indoors, painting, reading, and chatting with Elora whenever she had the chance, and when she was bored, she visited every place in the Moonlight Pack they had visited togethe
It was finally the day for Elora to leave the Moonlight Pack, but Valerie could not bring herself to see her off, so she stayed indoors. She watched through the window to see when Elora would walk past; thank goodness her window leads to the main gate.Valerie thought about the last two days they h
"I am so sorry," the man apologised but Valerie ignored him."Sorry for yourself!" She mumbled, as she tried to walk past him. Someone pushed her, and she almost fell. The man was quick to grab her by the waist and pull her up. Valerie got angry about it and pushed him away."Are you trying to take
