Emilia POV

Today was my first day at Willowbrook High School, the most prestigious school.

My heart pounded with excitement and my nerves tensed up as I walked across the campus of Willowbrook with my school bag hanging on my broad shoulders.

My name is Emilia, a half-witch and half-wolf Luna, which was deemed a curse in the entire wolven world.

This school has always been my dream. I had always longed to be a part of the school.

I examined the school buildings; it was fascinating and well-decorated, living up to its name.

“Emilia, wait,” my mother, Cynthia, called out. Her tone was sharp, which made me stop in my tracks.

“ Not again, “ I whispered, my chest heaving, panicking before I finally took a glance at her.

Her blonde hair rested on her shoulders, her eyes flickering on me as I turned my head.

I swallowed hard my steps heavy as I walked towards the car where she sat in the driver's seat.

When I got to where she was, my mother reached out for her bag pulling a vial out.

“ Mom, you don't need to do this, “ I said, my eyes gazing into hers, standing by her window screen.

“ You have to mask your scent; no one, either a witch or a werewolf, can ever truly know who you are, “she responded with a smirk playing on her lips.

“ Mom, you know I already have a mate,” I replied and her green eyes widened, eyeing me strangely.

Before I could say anything else, she cupped my chin up, knocking me out of breath in my lungs.

Heat flared up in my body, her claws sinking deeper into my skin.

“ Mom, please don't do this,” I cried out, my bones aching with tears flowing down my face.

“ You think that is something to be proud of.  A half-witch, a half-side abomination, neither side will ever claim you,” she snapped at me angrily and I gasped in shock.

My jaw tightened at her words, and my heart shattered into pieces.

“ Do you think I am going to sit here and watch while you throw yourself away? Do as I say or else you will face my wrath, “ she said, her tone flat, her eyes dilated before a scowl covered her face.

She removed the cap of the liquid forcing the contents down my throat.

When she saw I had gulped all the liquid, she loosened her grip before speeding off disappearing away from my sight.

Willowbrook High School is divided into three categories: witches, wizards, and werewolves.

“Please report to the front office, Emilia, “ I heard the announcement in the cafeteria clearly from the loudspeaker.

I exhaled deeply with stares piercing through me like daggers cutting through the air.

“Oh, someone is in trouble, aww, what did you do this time, you little defect wolf? “ a thin voice rings through the cafeteria.

I recognized the voice instantly, belonging to Chloe, the strongest she-wolf in the class.

Chloe pulled out a disgusted face before stuffing the food into her mouth.

“Go eat some hot dogs, bye, “ she sneers, her lips curled into a cruel smile, murmuring with those of her kind.

I  hesitated for a second before I finally stood up from the chair, my jaw tightening as I immediately walked off to the office.

“What do you want Chloe? “ I asked seeing her stand in my way.

She clapped awkwardly and her friends joined her. The sound made my heart crawl.

‘Oh, nothing, I just wanted to give you a proper welcome," she declared, her eyes filled with disdain staring at me with our other classmates.

“You will always be an unwanted, unloved freak of nature, the only student without a wolf” she chuckled, her voice dripping with venom.

“Okay, I have to go to class. If you have anything meaningful to say, I sugge,st spitting it out,” I muttered as she shot me a cothatare.

“You will be banished soon, yeah, you freak, no one wants you here. No wolf, no pack, good luck being a rogue.” A smirk played on her lips as she stepped forward, blocking my path.

“Okay, get out of my way,” I said warmly, trying to get past them, but she raised her hand, hitting my face.

My face went pale, and a stinging sensation washed through my cheeks.

“ What did you just do now? “ I demanded my voice loudly echoing in the locker room.

I clenched my fists as I gritted my teeth trying to suppress my anger.

‘Don't touch me with your filthy hands” she snarled grabbing a drink from the table

“Oh no, what are you doing ?” My heart raced as she leaned closer, blinking her eyes at me.

Before I knew it, she bumped into me with her shoulders splashing the wine on my uniform, soaking me to the core.

“Oops, I'm so sorry, “ she threw her head back, and I furrowed my eyebrows, wiping the dirt on my uniform.

“ Pitiful, I wonder what they call a rogue without a wolf? “The other girls' faces beamed with smiles, rolling their eyes to look at me.

“ Disposable a normal human being? What did she just wander in?” Chloe inquired, narrowing her eyebrows to look at me.

“Oh no, don't tell me we are doing charity admissions, show what's next, diversity for strays,” she whispered with a smug look on her face.

“She's lucky she's just a human. If the school ever stops so low as to admit a filthy half-blood, we will all tear her apart,” my stomach dropped.

“A human tries to pass as us, how adorable “Chloe snickered, leaning forward, her friends roughly grabbing my hair by the sides, scattering it over my face.

“What's wrong? I hear humans cry easily, let's see, “she spoke with a dark expression on her face.

“Please let me go” I whispered breathlessly with tears slowly climbing down my cheeks.

“Oh, she begs, cute. I bet you can't even shift, huh ?” I buried my face in my chest

Maybe we should check, let's rip her clothes off to see if she's hiding a tail somewhere,” she ordered.

I prayed fervently, hoping someone would come to my aid.

“That's enough “ a deep voice cuts through the room.

It was Wesley Blackwood, the Lycan king, the most feared monster among all kinds.

“I mean, no one dares lay a hand on her,” he commanded. His steps were heavy as he walked towards us.

My heart almost jumped out of my throat when I saw him emerge from the shadows.

“Wesley, we were just welcoming the new girl, “ they said, his eyes cold like ice bearing mine.

"Are you okay? “ he asked softly extending his hand towards me with a slight smile.

I hesitated before stretching out my palm, helping me up to my feet.

“Thank you “I replied, staring at the mysterious stranger before me.

“Wesley you can just let the human go she is not worth your time”

“Since when is it funny to gang up on someone “ he barked, his voice low and dangerous.

“Wesley it was just a silly mistake I mean I'm sure she would agree right sweetheart” Chloe

“I'm Wesley, welcome to Willowbrook. “ I felt my cheeks burn as his eyes bore into mine.

“I'm sure you need a guide to show you around this place right? “ He stretched his hand towards me soft and tender.

His eyes had a striking resemblance to someone I once knew, his scent was intoxicating, which smelled of cinnamon.

“Wesley, we have plans, “ Chloe grins, pinning me with a gaze that makes sweat lines up on my forehead.

“Just then, I heard heavy footsteps and I saw many eyes falling on me

“Are you alright? “ he asked, my head throbbing in pain as I lost my balance falling straight into his arms.

“I should know these wolves were causing trouble, no maturity,” he pulled out a chair for me as a smile teases on his lips.

He cocks an eyebrow at Chloe before shoving her against the wall slamming her head into the wall.

“Let go of me you are going to regret this

I'm gonna tell my father, “Chloe groans, blood flowing out of her head.

“I have always wanted to put that rude snot in her place” he whispered after she finally passed out.

“Come on, we need to leave,” he mumbled softly, taking a deep breath.

Something stirred inside of me that hit me like a tidal wave.

“The scent is him, he's my mate” I mumbled softly, the scent a stark reminder of something I used to know.
