MAYA’S POV

The first thing my eye caught was the not-so-beautiful painting on the wall. I batted my eyelashes a few times after squinting; it did help me get used to the lighting in the room.

I rested my head on the headboard and it dawned on me that I was in an unknown room. I searched my head to remember where I was last, and it didn’t take long for me to vividly remember.

The only thing I didn’t know was how I got here. I could remember being attacked by a masked figure using a sword. I placed my hand on my stomach where I was pierced with the sword, but it didn’t hurt.

“Is this heaven or hell?” I asked my wolf, but I didn’t get a response.

The room was big and quiet. The walls were painted in my favorite color and attention was paid to the drawings on some parts of the wall and the furniture as well.

Near the bed was a table with a glass of water on it. A walk-in closet stood on one side of the room, its door slightly opened so I could see neat rows of clothes inside.

Thick curtains hung by the windows that were opened, and I looked out through them. I could see the dark sky and a few tall trees outside. Hell couldn’t be this calm and beautiful.

“This isn’t the time for you to go silent on me. I might be in an enemy’s territory. I don’t know how long I’ve been in here,” I said to Aria inwardly.

I didn’t forget that my wolf wasn’t like other wolves that could speak whenever they wanted to. That was the thing about an Omega’s wolf, but I really needed her to speak.

For my stomach to have healed completely, it meant that I had been in here for the longest. I could have sworn that it was all over for me after I was attacked in the woods.

No part of my body ached and I had neat clothes on. Someone that wasn’t Alpha Damien must have made my well-being their priority, but who could it be?

I rolled the duvet off my body. I needed to take a peep out of the window; perhaps I would get an idea of where I was and who rescued me instead of leaving me to die.

“Did I just hear a weird noise?” I inquired from Aria after I suddenly paused.

I might have to stop speaking to her. Again, I didn’t get a response. If I wasn’t an Omega in the first place, I wouldn’t have found myself in here; Alpha Damien couldn’t have succeeded in killing me.

Whoever kept me in here might just be coming for me. That had to be why I heard a weird noise some seconds ago. I kept my eyes fixated on the door but wasn’t ready for what could come.

Being an Omega came with a lot of disadvantages; it meant not being able to stand up for yourself and also defend when you needed to. If a werewolf walked in and attacked me, I would be able to do nothing.

I heard noises again but this time, it wasn’t weird. It was defined and, if I were to be precise, it was approaching footsteps. My heart began to race and it became hard to stop batting my eyelashes frequently.

The door opened all of a sudden and I froze on the spot. A maid walked in and after setting her eyes on me, a smile appeared on her face. What could be the reason for her happiness? It definitely wasn’t because I regained consciousness.

I could tell she was a maid because her outfit sold her out. It was more like a uniform. I used to wear something that looked like it while I was in Alpha Damien’s pack.

Silence was ongoing. All she did was fixate her full attention on me, and in return, I did the same. My heartbeat slowly returned to its normal pace.

The least she could do at the moment was speak, perhaps tell me her name, why I was here in this room, and who brought me into the room.

      “What am I…”

I had to swallow the rest of my word abruptly. She didn’t allow me finish speaking before walking out of the room. I couldn’t have offended her by opening my mouth to speak.

The door didn’t make any further cranky sound after it was slammed. It meant that it wasn’t locked from outside. I gulped loudly while I pondered on the thought that crossed my mind.

Running away sounded like the best thing to do. The moon goddess gave me a second chance by not taking my life after I was attacked. It was left for me to save my life now by running.

I walked quietly and carefully, one of my heels raised and my weight on the balls of my feet. I was headed for the door and I knew just what to do after getting to it.

“If you think I’m about to complicate issues for myself by attempting to run, you had better tell me about it,” my words to my wolf.

The five fingers of my right hand landed on the handle of the wooden door and it was time to press it down slowly. My heart decided to pick a race again at this crucial time and I could do nothing about it.

“Are you sure?” My ears caught a voice.

Without hesitating, I took my fingers off the door and motioned backwards. The door opened and not only did the maid walk in, she did with a man that was 6’4, muscular, handsome, with a soft smile and curly hair.

“Alpha Rasmus,” I muttered while trembling.

He was the Alpha that Alpha Damien made me spy on. I got caught by him and managed to escape. He would kill me. I was on the list of his pack’s offenders.

  • When the moon binds us   CHAPTER FIFTY

RASMUS’S POV “The goal is to train her and not actually injure her,” I said to Beta Kierra’s face. Maya asked me not to address the situation, but I couldn’t ignore it. I didn’t want a repetition of it, so I liked that I was addressing it. I knew she was only trying to help Maya, but she needed to go easy on her. “I apologize. I didn’t mean to leave her with swollen lips and bruises,” she apologized to me. I thought about asking her to apologize to Maya, but Fred said there would be no need for that. Nonverbally, I dismissed Beta Kierra, leaving only Maya and me in the ward. Who could have thought Maya would spend time here in the sickbay today? The Doctor said she would be out of here in no time, and that was good news for me. I didn’t like that she was in pain, but there was nothing I could do about it. I ought to have told Beta Kierra to be careful with her on the training ground a long time ago. “Do you need me to get you anything?” I asked Maya. My eyes were back on

  • When the moon binds us   CHAPTER FORTY NINE

MAYA’S POV Again, I was here. Training had become my favorite thing to do, and it was no news anymore. Spending quality time with Lycan Rasmus was also my favorite thing to do. I’d pick one over the other, and anyone could easily guess the one I’d pick, right? The morning air was cool. It was the perfect time to train. Days ago, I trained under the hot sun in the afternoon because I didn’t want to be idle. I might do that again, but it definitely wouldn’t be anytime soon. I walked up to Beta Kierra. She’d be training me today. For a reason I knew nothing about, she wasn’t smiling. She wasn’t wearing her usual calm face. Could it be that a werewolf had pissed her off this early in the morning? “Good morning, Beta Kierra.” “You're late,” she replied. I wasn't late. I arrived two minutes early, but I wasn’t ready to argue with her. She clearly wasn’t in a good mood. Perhaps she woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. This was my first time seeing her like this. “Sorry

  • When the moon binds us   CHAPTER FORTY EIGHT

MAYA’S POV Both of my eyes were on him while he slept like a baby. He looked so peaceful while asleep, and I could watch him sleep all night. He fell asleep a few minutes after we started cuddling, and I couldn’t blame him. With all that we did in bed tonight, he deserved to sleep. I still couldn’t believe that Lycan Rasmus and I actually made love to each other, and for the first time ever, I genuinely enjoyed having sex. Since no one said yes to me giving a backstory, I’d just relive the moment. It all began from the moment I walked into Lycan Rasmus’s room just to check up on him. I didn’t regret doing that. He didn’t show up on the training ground in the morning or at the dining area for lunch, so I thought to check up on him after lunch. About four days ago, we were both in his room to dance, so it wasn’t my first time in his room. I insisted on us using his room because I didn’t want the domestic workers stealing glances at us while I was at it, or I’d be shy. We had

  • When the moon binds us   CHAPTER FORTY SEVEN

MAYA’S POV I tried so hard to stop myself from screaming while he slid his dick inside me, he kept on thrusting while he was still inside of me and my moans intensified. His kisses were wet and hungry, his hand kept fondling my boobs and it got me hungrier for him, even though he was inside me already. All his ways had been driving me crazy, I couldn’t wait to have his dick in my hand or my mouth at the moment, and gently caress his dangling balls too. He continued brushing his lips against mine aggressively, then with his right hand, he choked me gently and pulled out. Our eyes locked and it only made him brush his lips against mine aggressively. He caressed my boobs and it made me look forward to when he would penetrate fully again. It seemed he wasn’t ready to stop foreplay. “Damn,” I muttered. He knew the right places to touch. “We’re getting there, I need it more slippery this time,” he moaned into my ear. I had been wet from the moment we started this but it coul

  • When the moon binds us   CHAPTER FORTY SIX

DAMIEN’S POV I told Kendra to do all of this on her own, but she insisted on involving me in every part of the process. If she wanted company, she could have picked one of the domestic workers to do all of this with her. Her parents wanted something loud, something that would be the talk of the packs, but it wasn't the same with me. I tried to talk to Kendra, but she was clearly on her parents' side. She wanted what they wanted. “What do you think about the colors?” Kendra inquired. She must have assumed that I had been listening to the conversation she was having with her stylist. Physically, I was here with her, but my mind wasn't. I ought to be in my room taking a nap because I was unable to sleep all through the night, but here I was in the living room with her and her stylist. I cleared my throat while I thought of a response to give her. “The first color is perfect,” I said. Kendra's eyes were literally piercing my skin. “And what is the first color?” s

  • When the moon binds us   CHAPTER FORTY FIVE

RASMUS’S POV I stepped in and I wasn’t surprised to see Maya in the living room with her eyes on the television screen. I made sure to return on time so we could spend time together. Beta Kierra wasn’t with her, she must be in the middle of something important. “Hi,” I said after I got close to her. It was my way of announcing my presence. “Welcome, you’re back early,” she mentioned after her eyes landed on me. She looked excited to see me, and that didn’t make me feel bad. “Yes.” “How was your meeting with the elders?” she asked. I knew she would. “It went well, those old men had something to say as usual.” I didn’t want to bore her, so I spared her the gist of what went down between the elders and I. I put one of them in his place today, but I didn’t think it would interest her to know. She would definitely get bored at some point. It felt like time wasn’t moving so fast today. Dusk was still here, meaning I still had hours before bedtime. It was the same for Maya.

  • When the moon binds us   CHAPTER EIGHT

MAYA’S POV Lycan Rasmus was the first to step into the penthouse, then a maiden, and then me. It was his idea that we be here in the penthouse, and I couldn’t say no. The maiden in question had been going everywhere with him, and here she was again. She could be his personal assistant o

  • When the moon binds us   CHAPTER SEVEN

MAYA’S POV “How did my injury heal so fast?” I managed to ask after I sat on the bed like he had asked me to. “I should ask you,” he responded to me. I watched him sit next to me on the bed, and the minute he did, my heart skipped a beat. My eyes remained on him because I couldn’t be so sur

  • When the moon binds us   CHAPTER FIVE

MAYA’S POV I had witnessed soldiers train before. I had seen cruelty on the training ground, I had seen soldiers bleed, but this was a massacre. “This won’t end well,” I cried out. Alpha Damien stood at the center of it all, blood running down from his jaw to his chest. Five opponents surroun

  • When the moon binds us   CHAPTER NINE

MAYA’S POV Things were different here in the Moonlight Pack. Aside from the beautiful buildings, they seemed to be living in the future, unlike the Mountain Pack. The development was all thanks to the Lycan King. I knew that without being told. Alpha Damien was supposed to develop his pack al
