MAYA’S POV “When you’re done here, you’re to scrub all the toilets in the mansion,” a guard snapped. MAYA’S POV The first thing my eye caught was the not-so-beautiful painting on the wall. I batted my eyelashes a few times after squinting; it did help me get used to the lighting in the room. I rested my head on the headboard and it dawned on me that I was in an unknown room. I searched my head to remember where I was last, and it didn’t take long for me to vividly remember. The only thing I didn’t know was how I got here. I could remember being attacked by a masked figure using a sword. I placed my hand on my stomach where I was pierced with the sword, but it didn’t hurt. “Is this heaven or hell?” I asked my wolf, but I didn’t get a response. The room was big and quiet.
