LOGINMAYA’S POV
“Be sure to take the post-pills tonight,” Alpha Damien said as he threw my clothes at me. Post-pills had become the bitter medicine I had no choice but to swallow. If there was one thing I hadn’t run out of for months, it was post-pills. I got dressed, already knowing it was time to leave. I still needed to clean up the kitchen and the living room before going to bed. “Wait!” His voice stopped me when I was close to the door. ‘What is it this time?’ I turned around and my eyes landed on him. He rolled to the other end of the bed and grabbed his trousers. Maybe he had called me back just so I could watch him dress. “I forgot to mention that you’ll be heading to the Fountain Pack tomorrow. I have a feeling they’re planning something, and I need information,” he said, breaking the silence. “If I’m not mistaken, the rival pack?” I asked carefully. “Yes.” “The last time I went there, I almost got caught, and in my attempt to escape, I…” “Oh, you think I’ve forgotten?” he cut in. If I could talk back, I would have told him he had forgotten. I had been badly injured the last time he sent me there, and now he wanted me to do it again. The only reason I wasn’t giving him a piece of my mind was because I didn’t want to spend weeks in the prison. That would be the punishment. “Everything you’ve been doing is for the pack. I’m tired of telling you that,” he said calmly. That was his way of making sure I did what he wanted. Before I stepped out of his room, I knew he would remind me again that he would accept me soon, in front of everyone. He always said that. My arms stayed wrapped around me, my face blank. He didn’t expect me to be eager to risk my life for the umpteenth time in just a few months. “You’re an Omega. It will be hard for the pack citizens to accept you as Luna because of your weakness.” My only crime was being an Omega. If I hadn’t been one, I wouldn’t have to work as a slave in the mansion, and Alpha Damien might have accepted me as his mate long ago. “I’ve tried training you so you can be fit to be Luna, but your wolf isn’t making things easy for me, and you know it!” His tone was sharper now. Thinking about it again, maybe he couldn’t be blamed for not accepting me yet. He wanted me to be strong enough to stand as Luna before he marked me. “If you keep making sacrifices like this for the pack, they won’t object when they eventually find out you’re my mate.” I reasoned with him. I understood why he wanted me to go instead of Kendra or any other maiden. “It’s fine if you don’t want to, but if you do, history will remember you for it, and the pack members…” He stopped suddenly and swallowed hard. “I’m talking too much. The choice is yours,” he murmured. I had been avoiding his eyes, but not anymore. He was seated on the bed, his legs touching the ground, and his gaze locked with mine. “I’m sorry for…” “You should go now,” he cut me off. I must have annoyed him with my words or my expression. “Good night,” I whispered. I knew better than to stay back and try to apologize again. That could trigger an outburst, and I didn’t want to hear him roar or be shoved out of his room. “I did it the last time. I can do it again,” I told myself once I was out of his sight. My mind was made up. First thing tomorrow morning, I would head to the Fountain Pack and get the information Alpha Damien wanted. “Luna-to-be,” a voice called. I looked around and saw Kendra. She called me that to mock me, and she must have told the other pack girls that Alpha Damien and I were mates. “Don’t play innocent with me, Omega. Do you think I haven’t noticed?” She was in front of me before I realized it. I wasn’t in the mood for drama tonight. I had no strength left in me, thanks to Alpha Damien. “I know what he does with you in the dark,” she bragged. “May I know why you have a problem with what my mate does with me in the dark?” I asked, deciding to put her in her place. “Oh, you think he’ll ever claim you? You’re just his toy, a slave he uses when he’s bored. You’re petite, pathetic, weak. You can barely shift. You’ll never stand beside him.” Her words cut deep, but I refused to believe them. Her eyes flickered with disgust as they swept over me. I opened my mouth to speak, but the words choked me. “He leaves you bleeding in that stupid ritual. He takes your body, drains your blood, whispers lies about claiming you, and then he comes to me.” She tilted my chin with one finger. “Alpha Damien is using you. Think about what he’ll do when he no longer needs you.” “Let go of me!” I screamed, but suddenly I was blindfolded, my mouth covered. “I once told you I’d be the end of you,” Kendra’s voice hissed.RASMUS’S POV “The goal is to train her and not actually injure her,” I said to Beta Kierra’s face. Maya asked me not to address the situation, but I couldn’t ignore it. I didn’t want a repetition of it, so I liked that I was addressing it. I knew she was only trying to help Maya, but she needed to go easy on her. “I apologize. I didn’t mean to leave her with swollen lips and bruises,” she apologized to me. I thought about asking her to apologize to Maya, but Fred said there would be no need for that. Nonverbally, I dismissed Beta Kierra, leaving only Maya and me in the ward. Who could have thought Maya would spend time here in the sickbay today? The Doctor said she would be out of here in no time, and that was good news for me. I didn’t like that she was in pain, but there was nothing I could do about it. I ought to have told Beta Kierra to be careful with her on the training ground a long time ago. “Do you need me to get you anything?” I asked Maya. My eyes were back on
MAYA’S POV Again, I was here. Training had become my favorite thing to do, and it was no news anymore. Spending quality time with Lycan Rasmus was also my favorite thing to do. I’d pick one over the other, and anyone could easily guess the one I’d pick, right? The morning air was cool. It was the perfect time to train. Days ago, I trained under the hot sun in the afternoon because I didn’t want to be idle. I might do that again, but it definitely wouldn’t be anytime soon. I walked up to Beta Kierra. She’d be training me today. For a reason I knew nothing about, she wasn’t smiling. She wasn’t wearing her usual calm face. Could it be that a werewolf had pissed her off this early in the morning? “Good morning, Beta Kierra.” “You're late,” she replied. I wasn't late. I arrived two minutes early, but I wasn’t ready to argue with her. She clearly wasn’t in a good mood. Perhaps she woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. This was my first time seeing her like this. “Sorry
MAYA’S POV Both of my eyes were on him while he slept like a baby. He looked so peaceful while asleep, and I could watch him sleep all night. He fell asleep a few minutes after we started cuddling, and I couldn’t blame him. With all that we did in bed tonight, he deserved to sleep. I still couldn’t believe that Lycan Rasmus and I actually made love to each other, and for the first time ever, I genuinely enjoyed having sex. Since no one said yes to me giving a backstory, I’d just relive the moment. It all began from the moment I walked into Lycan Rasmus’s room just to check up on him. I didn’t regret doing that. He didn’t show up on the training ground in the morning or at the dining area for lunch, so I thought to check up on him after lunch. About four days ago, we were both in his room to dance, so it wasn’t my first time in his room. I insisted on us using his room because I didn’t want the domestic workers stealing glances at us while I was at it, or I’d be shy. We had
MAYA’S POV I tried so hard to stop myself from screaming while he slid his dick inside me, he kept on thrusting while he was still inside of me and my moans intensified. His kisses were wet and hungry, his hand kept fondling my boobs and it got me hungrier for him, even though he was inside me already. All his ways had been driving me crazy, I couldn’t wait to have his dick in my hand or my mouth at the moment, and gently caress his dangling balls too. He continued brushing his lips against mine aggressively, then with his right hand, he choked me gently and pulled out. Our eyes locked and it only made him brush his lips against mine aggressively. He caressed my boobs and it made me look forward to when he would penetrate fully again. It seemed he wasn’t ready to stop foreplay. “Damn,” I muttered. He knew the right places to touch. “We’re getting there, I need it more slippery this time,” he moaned into my ear. I had been wet from the moment we started this but it coul
DAMIEN’S POV I told Kendra to do all of this on her own, but she insisted on involving me in every part of the process. If she wanted company, she could have picked one of the domestic workers to do all of this with her. Her parents wanted something loud, something that would be the talk of the packs, but it wasn't the same with me. I tried to talk to Kendra, but she was clearly on her parents' side. She wanted what they wanted. “What do you think about the colors?” Kendra inquired. She must have assumed that I had been listening to the conversation she was having with her stylist. Physically, I was here with her, but my mind wasn't. I ought to be in my room taking a nap because I was unable to sleep all through the night, but here I was in the living room with her and her stylist. I cleared my throat while I thought of a response to give her. “The first color is perfect,” I said. Kendra's eyes were literally piercing my skin. “And what is the first color?” s
RASMUS’S POV I stepped in and I wasn’t surprised to see Maya in the living room with her eyes on the television screen. I made sure to return on time so we could spend time together. Beta Kierra wasn’t with her, she must be in the middle of something important. “Hi,” I said after I got close to her. It was my way of announcing my presence. “Welcome, you’re back early,” she mentioned after her eyes landed on me. She looked excited to see me, and that didn’t make me feel bad. “Yes.” “How was your meeting with the elders?” she asked. I knew she would. “It went well, those old men had something to say as usual.” I didn’t want to bore her, so I spared her the gist of what went down between the elders and I. I put one of them in his place today, but I didn’t think it would interest her to know. She would definitely get bored at some point. It felt like time wasn’t moving so fast today. Dusk was still here, meaning I still had hours before bedtime. It was the same for Maya.
MAYA’S POV “How did my injury heal so fast?” I managed to ask after I sat on the bed like he had asked me to. “I should ask you,” he responded to me. I watched him sit next to me on the bed, and the minute he did, my heart skipped a beat. My eyes remained on him because I couldn’t be so sur
MAYA’S POV The first thing my eye caught was the not-so-beautiful painting on the wall. I batted my eyelashes a few times after squinting; it did help me get used to the lighting in the room. I rested my head on the headboard and it dawned on me that I was in an unknown room. I searche
MAYA’S POV I had witnessed soldiers train before. I had seen cruelty on the training ground, I had seen soldiers bleed, but this was a massacre. “This won’t end well,” I cried out. Alpha Damien stood at the center of it all, blood running down from his jaw to his chest. Five opponents surroun
DAMIEN’S POV My fists remained tightly clenched. I hadn’t woken up on the good side of the bed, and everyone in the mansion had better be well-behaved today. “Get me the Beta and the head of security,” I ordered the guard behind me after descending the stairs. “Yes, Alpha,” he responded. My
