MAYA’S POV
“Faster, Omega!” a warrior barked. He obviously wasn’t an Omega like me. His voice made me flinch, and my arms trembled. Good for me, the tray stacked with food in my hands didn’t find its way to the ground. The smell of roasted meat and herbs filled my nostrils as the plates rattled. I held on to the tray tightly like my life depended on it. My life did depend on it, actually. “The Alpha is waiting!” my ears caught. I had no idea who the speaker was. The tall, strong, and beautiful pack girls laughed hysterically, making a mockery of no other werewolf than me, the useless and wolfless Omega. My eyes were on the floor as I quickened my pace. I had to arrive at my destination on time, or I would pay dearly for it in an inhuman way. “Careful, Maya. Don’t drop the Alpha’s food. You wouldn’t want him to see how useless you are,” one of them sneered. I bit the inside of my cheek and kept walking. The only thing I could do was ignore them. It was what I had been doing for the longest time, and I had gotten used to it. “Pathetic,” another girl hissed. “Why was an Omega asked to serve the Alpha?” Kendra showed up in front of me and asked, her arms crossed. She stood in my way, so I had no option but to pause. I made sure our eyes didn’t lock, or it would trigger something. I wasn’t on a mission to get on anyone’s nerves. Often, she overplayed her role. She might have been Alpha Damien’s childhood sweetheart, but she acted as if she were already his mate. “Let me have it,” she ordered and shoved the tray before I could hand it over to her. Plates crashed against the floor, and food splattered everywhere. Gasps filled the air, followed by another round of hysterical laughter. I couldn’t believe my eyes, and they got teary instantly. What would I tell Alpha Damien? I took a glance at Kendra, and she didn’t act like she was remorseful. “The next time you’re asked to serve the Alpha by a chef, let the chef know that you aren’t worthy to serve him,” Kendra spat. I dropped to my knees and hurried to clean up the mess. I knew I would take the fall for this and not Kendra. Perks of being a wolfless Omega. “I’m off to the kitchen to grab dinner for the Alpha,” she announced. The other girls present had gone mute. They dared not speak whenever Kendra was speaking. She was one of the strongest maidens in the pack, so she couldn’t be tried. They were all in the mansion because a feast would be held later that day. It was to celebrate the remembrance of the late Alpha, Alpha Damien’s father. “You’ll survive. You’ve got this,” I affirmed. It was one of my favorite things to do. I picked up a shard of glass, and it cut my finger. My blood spilled on the floor, and I instantly felt a type of way I had never felt before, like a dormant part of me had just erupted. “Look at her,” one of the pack girls mumbled while walking past me. I raised my head and found out they were all walking away in groups. None of them offered to help. None of them. “I was delusional to think any of them would help,” I muttered. Alpha Damien might not punish me for this because Kendra would get him something else to eat. I kept on bleeding, but I still had to clear the mess. The moon was out, and the feast had begun. The courtyard was alive with music and laughter, and the smiles on the faces of the pack citizens were contagious. I stood at the edge. I could only watch from afar. I wasn’t worthy enough to sit among the pack citizens or even stand next to my fellow slaves. “Omega, over here!” a young male werewolf shouted, waving me toward their table. I didn’t bother to give a response before heading in his direction. “Open the wine and serve every one of us,” the werewolf who called me ordered after I got to his table. He could have done that by himself, but no, he didn’t. “What is wrong with me?” I asked myself after a strong, sharp, and intoxicating scent hit me. Earlier, I had felt like something had erupted within me, and now this. I would love to believe that it was a result of the influence of the full moon. A wine glass slipped from my hand, causing me to splash a little wine onto the table. Thankfully, no one noticed, or a hot slap might have landed on my cheek. “I’d better grab a seat.” “Alpha Damien!” The words slipped out of my mouth. After I turned to leave, I found a figure obstructing my way. After taking a good look at the figure, I realized it was Alpha Damien. I hadn’t just screamed his name for no reason. The young, slightly muscular Alpha stood tall. The moonlight shone upon his face, and his gray eyes landed on me. He wouldn’t move aside, and I dared not walk out on him just because I needed to grab a seat so I could get a hold of myself. My wolf stirred faintly, and I wasn’t surprised because she did that occasionally. My knees weakened, and my senses heightened suddenly. Mate. A word I had never expected to hear from my wolf. She had just whispered it to me, and I was sure about what I heard. I gasped, and my hand landed on my chest. Every beat of my heart screamed it. Alpha Damien was my mate. “The Alpha and the Omega?” Alpha Damien asked. That was his way of telling me that he felt it too. The moon goddess must have made a mistake by making me Alpha Damien’s mate. My eyes were tightly closed while I waited for his next set of words to me.RASMUS’S POV “The goal is to train her and not actually injure her,” I said to Beta Kierra’s face. Maya asked me not to address the situation, but I couldn’t ignore it. I didn’t want a repetition of it, so I liked that I was addressing it. I knew she was only trying to help Maya, but she needed to go easy on her. “I apologize. I didn’t mean to leave her with swollen lips and bruises,” she apologized to me. I thought about asking her to apologize to Maya, but Fred said there would be no need for that. Nonverbally, I dismissed Beta Kierra, leaving only Maya and me in the ward. Who could have thought Maya would spend time here in the sickbay today? The Doctor said she would be out of here in no time, and that was good news for me. I didn’t like that she was in pain, but there was nothing I could do about it. I ought to have told Beta Kierra to be careful with her on the training ground a long time ago. “Do you need me to get you anything?” I asked Maya. My eyes were back on
MAYA’S POV Again, I was here. Training had become my favorite thing to do, and it was no news anymore. Spending quality time with Lycan Rasmus was also my favorite thing to do. I’d pick one over the other, and anyone could easily guess the one I’d pick, right? The morning air was cool. It was the perfect time to train. Days ago, I trained under the hot sun in the afternoon because I didn’t want to be idle. I might do that again, but it definitely wouldn’t be anytime soon. I walked up to Beta Kierra. She’d be training me today. For a reason I knew nothing about, she wasn’t smiling. She wasn’t wearing her usual calm face. Could it be that a werewolf had pissed her off this early in the morning? “Good morning, Beta Kierra.” “You're late,” she replied. I wasn't late. I arrived two minutes early, but I wasn’t ready to argue with her. She clearly wasn’t in a good mood. Perhaps she woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. This was my first time seeing her like this. “Sorry
MAYA’S POV Both of my eyes were on him while he slept like a baby. He looked so peaceful while asleep, and I could watch him sleep all night. He fell asleep a few minutes after we started cuddling, and I couldn’t blame him. With all that we did in bed tonight, he deserved to sleep. I still couldn’t believe that Lycan Rasmus and I actually made love to each other, and for the first time ever, I genuinely enjoyed having sex. Since no one said yes to me giving a backstory, I’d just relive the moment. It all began from the moment I walked into Lycan Rasmus’s room just to check up on him. I didn’t regret doing that. He didn’t show up on the training ground in the morning or at the dining area for lunch, so I thought to check up on him after lunch. About four days ago, we were both in his room to dance, so it wasn’t my first time in his room. I insisted on us using his room because I didn’t want the domestic workers stealing glances at us while I was at it, or I’d be shy. We had
MAYA’S POV I tried so hard to stop myself from screaming while he slid his dick inside me, he kept on thrusting while he was still inside of me and my moans intensified. His kisses were wet and hungry, his hand kept fondling my boobs and it got me hungrier for him, even though he was inside me already. All his ways had been driving me crazy, I couldn’t wait to have his dick in my hand or my mouth at the moment, and gently caress his dangling balls too. He continued brushing his lips against mine aggressively, then with his right hand, he choked me gently and pulled out. Our eyes locked and it only made him brush his lips against mine aggressively. He caressed my boobs and it made me look forward to when he would penetrate fully again. It seemed he wasn’t ready to stop foreplay. “Damn,” I muttered. He knew the right places to touch. “We’re getting there, I need it more slippery this time,” he moaned into my ear. I had been wet from the moment we started this but it coul
DAMIEN’S POV I told Kendra to do all of this on her own, but she insisted on involving me in every part of the process. If she wanted company, she could have picked one of the domestic workers to do all of this with her. Her parents wanted something loud, something that would be the talk of the packs, but it wasn't the same with me. I tried to talk to Kendra, but she was clearly on her parents' side. She wanted what they wanted. “What do you think about the colors?” Kendra inquired. She must have assumed that I had been listening to the conversation she was having with her stylist. Physically, I was here with her, but my mind wasn't. I ought to be in my room taking a nap because I was unable to sleep all through the night, but here I was in the living room with her and her stylist. I cleared my throat while I thought of a response to give her. “The first color is perfect,” I said. Kendra's eyes were literally piercing my skin. “And what is the first color?” s
RASMUS’S POV I stepped in and I wasn’t surprised to see Maya in the living room with her eyes on the television screen. I made sure to return on time so we could spend time together. Beta Kierra wasn’t with her, she must be in the middle of something important. “Hi,” I said after I got close to her. It was my way of announcing my presence. “Welcome, you’re back early,” she mentioned after her eyes landed on me. She looked excited to see me, and that didn’t make me feel bad. “Yes.” “How was your meeting with the elders?” she asked. I knew she would. “It went well, those old men had something to say as usual.” I didn’t want to bore her, so I spared her the gist of what went down between the elders and I. I put one of them in his place today, but I didn’t think it would interest her to know. She would definitely get bored at some point. It felt like time wasn’t moving so fast today. Dusk was still here, meaning I still had hours before bedtime. It was the same for Maya.
MAYA’S POV Things were different here in the Moonlight Pack. Aside from the beautiful buildings, they seemed to be living in the future, unlike the Mountain Pack. The development was all thanks to the Lycan King. I knew that without being told. Alpha Damien was supposed to develop his pack al
MAYA’S POV Lycan Rasmus was the first to step into the penthouse, then a maiden, and then me. It was his idea that we be here in the penthouse, and I couldn’t say no. The maiden in question had been going everywhere with him, and here she was again. She could be his personal assistant o
MAYA’S POV “You won’t be staying here anymore. The maids have their building, that’s where you belong,” Miss Kira informed me. This had to be the reason she asked me to come see her after I got discharged. “The maids’ quarters are filled already. I think the Lycan asked her to stay in this bu
MAYA’S POV Lycan Rasmus claimed I healed myself. He said it was the reason I had no scar to show for my stomach that was pierced with a sword. Why then was I unable to heal myself again? It had been more than twenty four hours since I was rushed to the sickbay, and my injuries were still look
