chapter 6: Mafia side

In a dark room in a private room the flicker of a lighter sounded and soon tiny flames erupted in its tiny holes and in the dim light Arthur's face became clear.

He lit a cigarette and put it in his mouth, his eyes cast down. In front of him stood a man in white doctor's coat and beside him was a female nurse both dishevelled, likely caught in the act.

“So, I heard you're selling promotions to nurses by sleeping with them,” Arthur said, his face still having his signature cocky smile.

“ I'm sorry sir I swear it was just once ,” the doctor said as he knelt down in front of Arthur, his face stained with tears while the nurse joined in, pleading.

Arthur had built this hospital while still in his early stage in med school and it was the number one medical facility in the state.

He had always dreamed of becoming a doctor because of his mom but he also knew being a doctor was just a fragment of his vision.

He wanted something bigger, stronger and evil and he went for it all. Now he's a neurologist, a CEO worth billions and also controls half of the underground mafia activities.

he had kept a low profile and hidden his identities, not even Silas knew his real identities.

Looking at the doctor kneeling Arthur felt no pity; instead he flicked his wrist and two men in black entered the room and dragged him away as he screamed for help, making the female nurse shiver in fear.

“ He's gone, or do you want to keep pretending?....maria” he called and the nurse instantly stopped crying switching personalities like flipping a book. She stood from the floor, her eyes locked on his with a sly smile on her lips.

“ So you do recognize me,” her voice was undeniable sweet to listen to and seducing “ but too bad you caught us too late,” I already sent a message to my father and he'll definitely destroy you this time,” she shouted at him her face now filled with hatred but soon it turned to shock when Arthur pulled out a piece of paper from his front pocket. That was their two months of close watch on Arthur and every possible thing that could make him vulnerable and it was with him?

Arthur smiled seeing her expression as opened the sealed envelope .

" Dad, I've got a lead on a lady named Clara Thorne. I've seen her multiple times with jackass Arthur.....really jackass ?" Arthur asked as he continued reading the letter. " They seem pretty close and I notice him having an argument with the sterling family head. I think they are related. Should we move up the plan or wait till after he gives us a sign," he read and looked at her, " so there's another person wanting me dead," he said and burnt the paper while looking at her.

Maria was an opposing mafia’s daughter of Arthur's. the invisible dragons, and during a banquet in Italy she saw Arthur and fell in love with him. Her brother warned her not to be near Arthur but as a child she has always been willful and always had what she wanted so she walked up to him and arrogantly asked to buy him instead.

Back then Arthur found it amusing and turned her down politely but she wasn't hearing it. she wanted to take him by force then and had wanted her bodyguards to hold him down but that was when Arthur who was being blocked, took out a small pistol from his pocket and shot at her leg. He was careful not to shoot at her knee or any critical point so she won't be disabled but that move had made her brother angry as he wanted to avenge his sister but before he could open fire Arthur shot him dead.

That incident had made things worse for both empires as they clashed anytime they met and for seven years straight Arthur has always won and the invisible dragons have almost been wiped out.

“ You studied me for three months, impersonated a nurse and doctor while in my territory and think I won't know?” Arthur asked standing up and Maria's rage turned to fear. She remembered that day seven years ago at the banquet that he didn't even blink while he shot at her brother and her knees gave way letting her fall to the ground.

One night ago while secretly watching Arthur she had slipped an aphrodisiac on his drink but then a girl walked in boldly and kissed him she had wanted to fulfil her obsession while also taking revenge on him that night but she was so lost in her rage to discover Arthur had left the bar with the woman in his hand and just today

She saw the same woman and secretly wrote to her father but who knew he was prepared and intercepted her secret intel.

She badly regretted walking up to him in the first place because her actions had taken her brother's life and she? She felt even more useless failing every time she was close to success.

“ Do you know why I spared you last time you pulled that drug stunt on me “ Arthur asked and a shocked look appeared on her face. “ You knew?” She asked and he laughed, “ of course I just wanted to see how far you'd go with your obsession” he said and flicked his wrist as two shadow guards walked in and held her.

“ If you had targeted me alone I would have overlooked your doings for the past months. But you spread rumors about the hospital and tried having sex in the restroom just to create a scandal for me and you also had the guts to track my woman,” he smiled thinking about Clara but when he looked at Maria his smile was gone. “ Don't worry, your father will join you soon,” he said and flicked his wrist as she was dragged out.
