Author's pov"What do we do now?" A nurse rushed from outside into the ward. " Beta Heimdall is on his way and she's yet to wake up."The look of anxiety and gear on the nurse's face was immediately copied by several other nurses and staff of the Devil Claw Wolfpack's medical team. They all frantically began to move in different directions as none of them wanted to be caught by the approaching Beta. He was as furious as a tailless bull. It had been three days since Natalia lost her consciousness in front of Devil Claw Wolfpack's pack house and Alpha Draco's order that none of them was leaving the office until she woke up. By the time the furious Beta Heimdall stormed up to the door of the medical building, only a frightened little nurse was standing behind the large desk and shaking like a leaf in her seat. "Y..yo..you're w...w..welcome, Beta Heimdall." She managed to stammer out frighteningly while her hands were tightly clasped in front of her. Her frightened face was pale and

Alpha Draco's P.O.V. I looked at my Beta calmly seated on the other side of the table and squinted my eyes dangerously. My wolf was dancing on the edge and it was just a little provocation that would make me snap and unleash it. I was looking for an outlet to release my anger but I didn't want him to be at the receiving end. I knew he hated the girl and being berated for her sake wasn't going to help matters. I pushed back my wolf at this thought and began to think of other things. He had just told me the doctor's report. The tribute girl wasn't waking up until she felt like it. I didn't know what to feel. Anger. Amusement. Wonder. Bewilderment. I was the god my pack and its subsidiaries look up to and worship after the moon goddess. I determine who could live and who could die. I determine who could sleep and who couldn't. If I decided that no one could sleep for the next three days, my order would be carried out without anyone raising any objections or batting an eyelid. So, I

Beta Heimdall's P O.VI stormed down the hallway from the Alpha's office to the living room. My anger knew no bounds. I couldn't understand why Alpha Draco was indulging her. I got outside and stormed towards one of the pillars standing against the roof. Without another thought or word, I sent my fist towards it. The force of the fist connecting with it made the roof shake. I could see several of the warriors training and once they saw me, they hurriedly bowed their heads in greeting. I ignoted them abd went among them selecting those who would go with me to Talon pack. I couldn't bear the thought that a tribute girl was making me run around like there was a rope around my neck. This made whatever hate I had for her triple in my heart. For now, I wasn't just seeking her punishment. I was seeking her death abd the total annihilation of her pack. Natalia's P.O.VThe atmosphere felt cold. I brought my hands close and wrapped them around my cold body but it was of no use. I was cold and weary. I tried to look for a corner to lay down but I found none. My hands only felt the air and nothing else. There was no wall to signify if it was a room or a house. There was no door. Everything was just dark and cold. The cold was seeping into my body and soon, my bones were cold. The cold extended its icy fingers and wrapped them cruelly around my heart. As there was no place for me to sit or lie, I continued moving forward although I had no idea where I was headed. I figured that if I got weary while moving on, at most I would pass out and come around later. A sad smile crossed my face at that point but there was nothing I could do. At a point, I began calling out to whoever was on the other side of the darkness to help me but no reply came. Nobody heard my voice 0r listened to my plea. Natalia's povIt's been three days. Three days since I regained consciousness. Since I escaped death at the hands of the unknown men who were after me in my dreams. I roll from one side of the bed to the other. I was bored and felt irritated. I could see the basket of fruit set beside the bed. It had been brought in the afternoon by an elderly woman who was followed by two maids. One of the maids had carried a tray of food while the other had carried the basket of fruit. The woman had told me they were gifts from the Alpha and that he wished me a quick recovery. I hadn't bothered to answer. I only nodded my head and turned to face the wall. Upon seeing I wasn't interested in them nor the gifts they came bearing,the elderly woman ushered the girls out and bid me goodbye. I would have had my mother's company as I remembered waking up that day to see her excited face. Before I could ask her any questions, the doctor together with some of his nurses rushed in with a face I never wan

Alpha Draco's P.O.V. I kept rolling listlessly from one side of the king sized bed to the other side. I found it hard to sleep. Every time I closed my eyes, images of her filled them. Even in death, it was obvious she was traumatised. Many rumours had gone out that I was responsible for the death of my wives but none of them could be any further from the truth.Some of the rumours claimed I would always tear my wives into pieces once I shifted into my wolf form and let my rage take over. Another rumour claimed I had beaten them to death while an exaggerated one claimed I usually locked them up to die of starvation. It never ceases to amaze me how women who were seemingly healthy before getting pregnant with my child would suddenly become I'll and die overnight. In most cases, the doctors would find nothing wrong and point the cause of death as natural. Why didn't they die before they became pregnant? Why would they die after getting pregnant?I took my time to go through several

At first, I was stunned out of my senses. I was to live in the castle with Alpha Draco and I had to get myself prepared to be transported there. To think I had been mentally preparing myself to be a slave in Devil Claw Wolfpack. This was a twist in the fate that awaited me at Devil Claw Wolfpack. "O..okay. Thanks, Alpha Draco." I managed to stammer out but he was gone by the time I brought myself to think of appreciating him. I gingerly walked back to my bed careful not to disrupt the peaceful night rest of those in the hospital. I sat down on it and began to contemplate what I had done to deserve the treatment he was giving me. Was he guilty of what his Beta had done? Was he feeling pity for me?I had no answers to whatever questions clouded my mind and I was about to give up when a thought filtered into my mind. Alpha Draco's P.O.V.I listened to Elsa give her report and my hand balled into fists where I had hidden it under the table. Natalia, or whatever her name was, had found a way to disobey me again. I had told her to get ready to move by twelve and here I sat, listening to Elsa telling me she needed another two hours before she could move. I've known Elsa since I was a kid and she had mostly influenced me growing up so I saw her in the same position as a mother. If what she was telling me had really happened, then Natalia needed to be greatly cared for. I watched two hours elapsed in great agony after I had sent Elsa off. "She should have gotten ready. She should be there by now."I mumble to myself as I pace the length and width of my spacious office. I trusted Elsa and knew she would do her best. A knock made me snap out of my numerous thoughts. Our trip from the hospital towards the castle took me through the warriors training grounds. We passed by and could see some of the warriors training hard. I almost slowed down to watch as I could see that there was no single female among their warriors unlike in my pack where male and female werewolves trained together. "Let's walk fast. We don't want to run into Beta Heimdall. He could tag you a spy for watching the warriors while training."Elsa spoke as she urged me to walk faster. I nodded my head as she made me see another side of the evil Beta Heimdall although I wasn't surprised at what I've heard. He was capable of doing so. The trip continued as we walked past the royal mining area. I couldn't also watch because Elsa thinks some of the pack elders may not be comfortable with my presence. Why was it that those last few words had an ominous ring to them? I wondered as we began to ascend and walked past the second and third floors. Are they insinuating something I wanted to overlook? Maybe not. Alpha Draco had said I was a guest and a guest I would remain. We arrived on the galleried landing of the fourth floor and Elsa began to walk down the hallway. We stopped before a door and she pushed it open before stepping aside to let me in. I waltzed past her into the room and was about to comment something to Elsa when the door closed quietly. I turned around and was met with my own silence in the room. The message was clear. I had been left to explore the room on my own. And that I did. It was certainly elegant : not just a bedroom, but a bedroom, a sitting room and my own private bathroom. It was a suite.
