Chloe gripped the railing of the hospital bed, monitors beeping wildly around her as the contractions intensified. The pain radiated through her lower back and abdomen, sharp and unrelenting, stealing her breath with every wave. She was prepped for emergency C-section, the room a blur of scrubs and urgent voices. “I need them to be okay,” she gasped, eyes locked on Damian’s face. “They’re too early. I’m not ready.
