There wasn’t much left of her shift when Lorrianna got a call from the staffing department. “Nurses’ station. This is Charge Nurse Lorrianna speaking. How can I help you?” She answered with as much perkiness as she could manage after a double shift and knowing the call usually meant staffing shortage. “Good evening, Lorrianna!” Stephanie replied, sounding like she was well rested, had a break, or a great caffeine boost. Chapter 2

Entering the office building adjacent to the hospital, Tyler already felt the headache starting to form at his temples. He had acquired this hospital as it sat just inside the far northern region of his pack lands. He never understood until today why his father had always left it to the humans. The profits were slim at best, but the staffing was abhorrent. It was beautiful at least and appeared to be well maintained. The whole street-facing side was a wall of reflective windows, while the rear of the hospital boasted views of the mountain range that separated the pack lands from the wild, rogue-infested north. Chapter 3

Lorrianna dropped the deodorant and quietly kicked it under the desk. Her staff was standing behind this behemoth of a man, eyes wide and awestruck. She wiped her hand over the tight backside of her maroon scrubs and held out her hand in greeting. “Good evening, Mr….” She looked pleadingly at Stephanie for any hint as to who the hell had disrupted her CICU right before shift change for an inspection. He didn’t have the air of a doctor. He was more commanding, if that was even possible. Maybe a director, CFO, or CEO. But not a physician. Chapter 4

Gannon had lost his shit as soon as Tyler had stepped through the door to the CICU. “MATE, MATE, MATE!” He was rolling around in Tyler’s head with his tongue hanging out of the side of his mouth like a damn puppy and not the Alpha of the largest pack this side of the mountain range, hell the northern hemisphere.Tyler felt it as soon as they entered the hospital but knew pack business could be handled quickly, then he would search for his mate. Lorrianna POVAs Tyler and Dr. Atwood seemed to stare each other down for a brief moment, I felt something pushing to the front of my mind. “Oh no, you don’t!” She seemed to say to herself.
