Chapter 213: Whirlwind The following twenty-four hours were a whirlwind. After accepting the job at the ranch outside Orlando, Anna purchased a one-way ticket to Florida, then began packing what she thought she'd need for an extended stay in the Sunshine State, figuring that the work would be basically the same as she generally did at home. There's simply be a need for fewer coats and jackets. A few hours later, Andy, Simone, the baby, and the elder Graves returned to the ranch in a caravan, with Andy, for once in his life, driving below the speed limit, the better to care for his new family.

He sat down and opened his food to eat but noticed someone's gaze on him, and he lifted his head only to see Cherry scrutinizing him from head to toe as though she were checking him out but though it was in a very rude manner. “What?" He was irritated by her actions. “Are you seriously asking me that question? Andy, what is your problem?” She asked with anger in her voice. “I don't get what you are trying to say, so calm down and talk to me, I am all ears.” Andy said and closed his food back and rested his back on the dinning chair and stared at her intensely, waiting for an explanation. “You don't get what? Eventually we emerged through another secret door, one carved right into the side of a rocky little hill. We stepped out into the fresh night air, and I strained my ears. I was just barely able to hear the sounds of the fight still going on far behind us. And I sighed with relief. We were so much further away from the house than I’d dared to hope we would be. I smiled down at Andy. “Looks like Mommy and Daddy aren’t going to find you in time after all.” Andy, eyes wide with fear, struggled against the ropes binding his wrists, kicking and fighting me, obviously trying to slow me down as I dragged him down the hill and deeper into the trees.
