MY BUTTERFLY ****************** CALEB’S POV ****************** My heart is heavy and burdened as I watch the woman who has come to mean everything to me wither away before my eyes. I see her pains and how she tries so hard to hide them with a smile. Sometimes I want to break down and cry but for her, I try to be strong. However when she is not watching I go to a private place and cry. They say strong men do not cry but for Angela’s sake I agree to be a weakling for her sake I agree that I am not man enough.

CARL Jade burst into tears the moment I finished speaking. The loud, choking sobs tore out of her throat and filled the quiet rooftop patio. Her shoulders shook violently as she covered her face with both hands. Tears streamed down her cheeks and soaked into the collar of her clothes and her whole body trembled with the force of the pain I had just dropped on her. I'm the person who looks out for you." "No, you're not." I gently placed my hands on his head and neck, lightly brushing against his damp skin. The muscles beneath contracted and rippled, reacting to my touch. "Hey, could you give me a moment of your attention? Why are you crying?" Frederick leaned back, his hands resting in his lap. His expression turned into a frown, filled with a sense of sadness. He had completely broken down, becoming a fragile shell.
