Collier’s POV I heard Amanda scream from upstairs for someone to call 911. I heard Ally’s name and my blood ran cold. Amanda was screaming orders at someone to bring her a shirt when I made it to the top of the stairs. Jack stood closest to her untying her hands. What the hell was going on? Without thinking I took my shirt on and pulled it on over her head. She was motionless. Covered in blood. How had we not heard this? Who did this? Jack moved towards her and I instinctively pulled her towards me and gave Jack a warning look. Don’t touch her. Mine. Kayden tried to pull her away from me to let Amanda look at her and I saw red.

After five men had been killed by Chris, I saw that more men were still coming and my consciousness was now little to nothing. I saw Xerxes grabbed in one arm and then another. Soon, Dolores, Elena, Mike, and Antonio were now held. No one was fighting again. I saw the man that had slapped me slip out a knife and flashed it in front of Chris who struggled to get out of about 10 men's grip. He slowly took the knife close to Chris while I watched in agony what was about to happen.

Chris growled, "but your continuous and obstinate defiance has worn down what remained of my patience! You will agree to be my mate, even if I break your mind in order for you to do so." His eyes turned jet black, an endless abyss swirling behind them. I tried to break free from his grasp, but my body still wouldn't obey my commands. A shock like electricity struck my head, and I screamed in utter agony. The presence of Chris's mind forced itself into mine and began to violently reach out for my memories of Noah, intending to taint them with darkness. 'I am all that you care about!' his voice raged inside me. 'All that you will live for! I am everything you desire! Noah is nothing!'

I reached out, grabbing at nothing but air. Then I was falling. Tumbling. A crash of pain as my side,my back, my head hit the hard marble steps. Then a final,crushing thud as I landed on the floor below. A scream ripped from me, not from the bruises, but from a sudden, tearing agony in my very core. A hot, wet flood spread beneath me. “MY BABY!” I shrieked, curling around my stomach. “NO!” Through the blur of pain, I saw them at the top of the stairs. Evelyn’s face was twisted in hate. “Serves you right, you wicked creature!”

Chris still had his back to his friends, not wanting them to see his tears. Jim got to his feet again and retrieved the whiskey bottle. He refilled Chris’ shot glass, then filled three more. Dean and Dallas took one each and the men went over to Chris. He took his drink without comment and they all threw them back together, then they shot a second one. That was when Chris finally turned around. “You weren’t kidding, man,” he said to Dallas. “It was a fucking nightmare for her.” “I know,” Dallas said quietly. “How can she trust me to do this? After what happened?” Chris said helplessly. “I can’t – it’s too much. It’s too big. I’ll fuck it all up, scare her. I just – what am I supposed to do?”
