I fought the urge to wince under her touch. “I can help with that.” We both jumped at the deep voice. It came from the entrance of the tunnel. I let out an annoyed breath, preparing to face another one of Cedrics' friends. “I don’t need-“ I stopped as my eyes fell on Apollo. He was shirtless, his caramel skin glowing in the sunlight. His muscles toned, he looked as though he was moulded by the mother's own two hands—pure perfection. I forced my eyes to find him. His lips tugged up in the corner as he took me in. His perfect purple eyes, looking back at me.

Alpha Apollo Buzz Buzz Buzz… Buzz Buzz Buzz… “Hello,” I say in a rush as I am trying to get out of the house. I am already late for Savage’s birthday party. “Apollo, are you still at home?” Council elder Micha asks. “Yes, I am running behind.” I reply as I hear Micha sigh through the phone. “You might want to sit down for this call.” Micha suggests. “Why! What’s wrong!” I demand. “We just got a report of the Obsidian pack being attacked tonight,” Micha replies.

The paint was peeling now, chipped from the years. Atlas Andino's car sped around the block, squealing to a stop out front of his house. Atlas had been our neighbor since I was eleven. His family lived on the other side of town, moving here once their house had finished being built. Atlas's Dad was the Alpha of our pack, his wife the Luna. Both were fair to the rest of us, but were extremely strict. Our pack was the biggest in the country, the 'Full Moon Pack' our name. I had always hated the name of our pack, thinking it was too bland.

That’s a good idea!” Apollo kisses her cheek one last time and then disappears. Alice comes up behind her, “It’s hard to watch him leave?” The tears that flow down her face, give him his answer. He wraps one arm around her and places his hand on her elbow, and gently the other hand on her other elbow and starts to walk her towards his waterfall. Apollo answered, and soon he appeared in the dining room with his brother, Kreed. I froze, surprised to see him. He greeted Diana and me, and I quickly looked away, my heart racing. “I invited him for dinner. To thank him for helping this morning,” Apollo explained, patting his brother’s shoulder. “I hope that’s okay with you.” “No problem,” Diana replied with a smile. She thanked Kreed, who only turned his gaze away once Apollo’s girlfriend spoke to him.

I frowned and then looked away “Oh…” I said unsure what to say. I heard Alpha Nate talking with Beta Craig just outside the door. “I need to leave..” I said trying to stand up. “I am sorry Artemis. You can’t, not yet.” He said softly. I looked at him then at the door in terror as it opened. In walked a man wearing a white piece of clothes. He was tall with black hair, tan skin the color of caramel, and piercing grey eyes. “Hello Dear, I am Doc.”
