"Not remotely." I looked at the lamp. Fifty chapters. I thought about Chapter 1 of this. Not the book. The actual thing. The beginning of us. A hospital lobby, bad coffee, a crooked stitch, and two people who talked for two hours and did not yet know what they were beginning. "What do you think comes next?" he said. I thought about it. Viktor Ren's assessment, Theo's two weeks, Adaeze's legal case, the baby coming, the foundation growing, Sienna building something real, Damian paying his debt honestly, and all of it still moving.

"My name isn't Devourer." Aiden blinked. "Then what is your name?" The little boy lowered his head. "I... I don't remember." No one moved as the child looked around at them all. "Did I forget it?" There was no deception in his eyes—only genuine confusion. I let myself fall deep into my zone with red in my sight. “Gaetano, do you understand why they say never make a deal with The Devil?” I interrupted his laugh. He looked at me with narrowed eyes as I blew out the cigarette smoke into the night sky. I flicked the bud away and met his gaze, giving him a devilish smirk. “I’m about to show you why.” I drew my guns out at the same time men jumped out from the wooden crates. And a war with fire began.

An interesting turn of events. CHAPTER FOUR Devon's POV I sat in my brother's pub for hours, thinking and relocating my plan, replaying it over and over my head. I took a sip from my drink, and watched the group of guys that sat in the right corner of the bar. My fists clenched, but I knew I had to wait. The right time had not yet come. I had to wait. Taking a deep breath, I unclenched them.

He learns that their father has fallen gravely ill and is in ICU. He returns home to see his father and the family. But Devon has all intentions of returning back to Chicago. He's only planning to be here a few days. Until he gets the requests from Evan and his father to stay and help run the business until dad gets well. Devon reluctantly agrees, but for the love of his younger brother he remains.
