“You didn’t owe me an explanation. About Jack or your relationship. About anything in fact.” Her breath caught slightly at the sound of Jack's name on Derek’s lips. “My pride was bruised,” he admitted. “I don’t like being blindsided, and I definitely don’t like feeling like I misread a situation.” He glanced at her briefly, then away again. “So instead of handling my disappointment like an adult, I took it out on you.” The honesty in his tone disarmed her. “You called me a hypocrite,” she said quietly. “I did.”

He reached across the table, grasping her trembling hands in his, a lifeline of support in her darkest moment. As Noah’s words and comforting touch slowly calmed her racing heart, Grace regained control of her breath. The fog of panic began to dissipate, allowing her to focus on Noah’s next revelation. With a mix of concern and restrained fury in his eyes, he disclosed that he had seen a video from the dash-cam, showing a man mercilessly beating her while wearing a twisted smile. The rage burned within Noah’s gaze as he fought the impulse to unleash his anger on the man responsible for inflicting such pain upon Grace.

Ava took her hand and said "listen, I'm so sorry about your parents. I know you must be feeling so much pain inside you" Ruth hung her head low,her eyes getting teary. "Listen, unlike everyone, I won't tell you not to grieve over them. You should cry out all the pain inside you. The only good thing is you should always have someone by you. Cry out if you want to" With that Ruth burst into tears and Ava hugged her tight. She felt relieved after a while of crying. "Sorry I ruined your dress. That's so stupid of me" Ruth chuckled softly.

he sniffed. Grace looked down and let her sobs of relief come out of her throat. Her heart feels light, the shame and humiliation she felt that made an permanant place in her soul－suddenly lift up and lose her body. She feels light and lost that heaviness she has from years ago. She's free, free from the build up emotions and humiliation. Her body and heart are free from the tension.

“Do you know what it felt like? Do you have any idea? Seeing that common girl, that… that peasant, beside Ethan! The humiliation, Grace! The absolute, gut-wrenching humiliation of seeing her, a complete nobody, occupying a space that is rightfully mine! I am not a Malcovich. I have no power in that family, and this little nobody is making me feel small and weak. You were supposed to find out her identity. You were supposed to find a weakness. You were supposed to do your one job, the very thing I pay you a fortune to do, and you failed.” Grace flinched, her body tensing, her knuckles white where she clutched a leather-bound folder. Cindy was now getting on Grace's nerves, and she really couldn't take it any longer. “Speaking of dignity as a woman, I am very sure you sold yours; you have always been a slut. To correct the impression in your dumb skull, I can never be you, and you can never be me.” Grace said she really doesn't want to spill what she had in mind.

I stared at my phone, the screen reflecting my face back at me—pale, composed, eyes burning with something unspoken. Disgrace. That was the last word he’d chosen to leave me with. Slowly, I lowered the phone to the table. For a moment, I didn’t move. Then I exhaled, long and controlled. I buried my face in my hands as I tried hard to swallow up the scream that lodged at my throat now.

"You know, I used to think maybe, just maybe, I had a chance. That one day, you'd finally see me for who I am instead of the shadow you've been resenting all this time." Grace eyes were filled with years of pain, anger, and disappointment. "But you did see me, didn't you? Just not the way I wanted you to." Her hands trembled, but she lifted her chin, refusing to let the tears spill. "Yes... I understood you loud and clear when you said it last night." She added but somehow in a calmer tone now. "That you're disgusted by me." She let out a shaky breath and shook her head as if trying to rid herself of the ache in her chest.

“For a worthless girl who can't shift” “Total disgrace!” a loud spat emerged afterward. “I wonder why Alpha Derrick would think in his right mind to bring such a failed birth to our prestigious school,” another of the elders but in a different colored robe said. My eyes fell, staring at the ground. Just then, well-recognized, Elder Titus’s voice added again in his fake remorse. “So shameful to acknowledge the fact that she’s one of Moon College students” The elder in a yellow robe flared all of a sudden, making me shrink into my skin. “Nothing but a disgrace to our face”
