Chapter 28 “Hey, I was looking for you, and Damian didn’t even tell me where to find you, and he just said that you are busy,” Emma said as she approached our table. She’s wearing a white summer dress and a big Buri hat. She looks elegant as usual she walks as if she owns the place.

Ellie asked watching him, he wasn’t at the training ground this morning. He sniffed the air his expression changing, Ellie snarled at him and he bowed. “Apologies Luna” “Who are you?” Ellie demanded “I am Emmett the Beta of the Crimson pack” “Oh, I see, I haven’t been seeing you around” Ellie said “I am sorry about that, I had been on some official mission” “It is nice to meet you Emmett” Smiled Ellie and before he could actually say what he came over to say, two other people joined them.

Joseph's POV: "Hello, Emma, what are you doing here?" I asked Emma as she wore a cream-colored dress that perfectly accentuated her shape. She was slim-figured, tall, and sexier than Amaka. While Amaka was fair-skinned and of average height, Emma was a model, so she had that slender body and an hourglass shape. Although Emma Clement had used surgery to enhance her shape, she was light-skinned too. "I came to have fun as today is Sunday. Honestly, Joseph, I missed you and the fun we had," she said, taking a step closer to me as I got out of my car.

Emma said as she arrived, holding a beautiful plate of purple cupcakes. Karina was amazed, "Wow, they're so pretty, Mom!" exclaimed Karina. Karina wanted to eat one of the cupcakes, but Emma quickly turned away, ensuring that Karina wouldn't touch them before the event started. "Of course, they have to be pretty. It's an important event for my only daughter," Emma said excitedly. Karina smiled; it still felt a little strange being close to Emma again. But this was what she wanted, to be close to Emma.

Lucy said. She? “ She? Who is it Lucy?” Liam says as he tries to rack his brain. It can’t be Hailey, she wasn’t in Canada. So who? Apart from his mother and his sister, Hailey, he didn’t have much women in his life. “ It’s Emilia Peyton sir and she’s already here. Do I send her in now or later, although I doubt she’ll want to wait.” Lucy says. Liam is in shock for about ten seconds, reason being that he never imagined that Emilia would come to see him. It was still too early.

I passed everything I found back to Matthew, who used the information to sabotage the company in ways no one could trace. But then, I met Emma. Emma was just another worker in the office back then, quiet and unassuming. At first, I didn’t pay much attention to her, but over time, I started noticing the little things. The way she stayed late to finish work no one else wanted to do, the way she always greeted people with a smile even when she was clearly exhausted, the way her eyes held a sadness she tried to hide. “She’s nobody,” Matthew said dismissively when I mentioned her once, “Focus on the mission.”

She walked in wearing cream cashmere and confidence, her glossy black hair perfect despite the October wind. When our eyes met across the café, her smile faltered for just a brief moment before it snapped back into place. “Emery.” She slid into the seat across from me, with a polished grace. “You look incredible. I mean, considering everything you've been through…” “Save it.” The pleasantries die on her lips. Good. I'm not here for small talk. “I wasn't sure you'd actually come,” she said,. Her fingers were dancing nervously around her purse strap. “When you called, I thought—”

Before she could explain, the two girls with her scurried out of the room. Emma closed her toolbox slowly, then leaned closer, brushing a strand of hair off my pale face. Her lips pressed in a thin line before she whispered, kissing my hand softly, “You cannot die now, Scarlet Underwood. You are the eye of the gods, and we need you.” My breath hitched—or it would have, if I still had one. Eye of the gods? What did she mean? I wasn’t a goddess. Damien called me that only to compliment my beauty, yes. But Emma… Emma meant it. Every word.
