“Under the moon and stars, beneath the sky and the earth, we give our blessing to you, Fabian, son of fury, and to you, Seraphina, daughter of strength. May you lead with fairness, love , courage, and hold onto each other without end. May the kingdom prosper under your reign. As she spoke, something shifted under my knees. A pulse, maybe. Or a wave. The ground felt alive. I could feel it, whatever this was, rising through the stone and into the air around us. Heavy, warm, real. Like the gods weren’t just watching they were here. Reaching out. I felt it in my bones. The gods had given us their blessing. In that moment it felt like I knew we were meant to lead.

If she has done that, then she is with us, and doing what she can to help us.” Joel wasn’t sure he believed that. “I don’t know about that, Mom. If she is a goddess couldn’t she just come down here and free the wolves, kill the witches, and all that.” His mom laughed and gave him a look as if he was a child that just asked something absurd. “There are rules, Joel. The goddess can’t directly intervene. She must work through others… like a goddess blessed witch. Are you aware that unlike other witches, goddess blessed witches do not pass down their magic to their children.”

Xion’s lips parted as he questioned the lady, “You’re kidding, right? True Blessing is a myth.” Sierra glared at him and tiredly answered, “It’s not. Almost before she could finish her words, I throw my arms around her, tears spilling from my eyes as I cry into her shoulder. “Sacred blessings,” Ethan mutters, “It’s a rare blessing only the Goddess can bestow.” Without releasing my mother, I let my eyes fall on the Goddess’s statue and whisper, “Thank you.”

Normally, this didn't happen during a blessing, and it caught me off-guard. I forced myself to stay focused. I saw no reason to alarm her parents. "Peace and prosperity," I finished. "Under the watchful eye of the Moon Goddess herself."
