After the morning that my ears bled, I started having blackouts, losing time. I’d sit in my office busy with paperwork and I’d look up and it would be three hours later, the same paperwork still in front of me. I had no recollection of what happened during this time and I decided to open Karani’s chest again.

The anger remained though, still searing, fuelling the hatred he felt for Harley, for Elizabeth, for himself. Taking a minute to regain his breath, his head resting against the cool leather headrest, he shook away his irritation. He had to move.
