Mama has always hated my eye colours; she said it looked demonic. DON'T FEEL. I scream when she drags me by the hair, the pain is blinding. She is taking me to the store, I hate it there. She pushes me inside ignoring my continuous Pleading. "The fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." She looks at me one last time before shutting the door, I shriek when I hear the lock sound.

"Just a day. Why would you want to know, if I may ask, Miss?" He cocked his head at me. "Is there a cure for it?" I asked him, ignoring his question. "The victims can be saved if treated early enough. But once the poison reached the victim's heart, the creature can not be saved from death." "You have to leave now Lila! We don't have much time left." Amber urged me and I left immediately. "Miss! The Zeta doesn't agree with you leaving the room. Miss!" Cyrus yelled after me but I ignored him, dashing out of the room.

At the center of the chamber… Suspended in midair by glowing roots and veined magic… Was a heart. Not a metaphor. Not an illusion. No, it was a literal, beating heart. Golden. But split. The right side of it shimmered like pure sunlight, clean and soft and healing. The left side… twisted. Veins blackened with rot. A slow corruption pulsing through it like tar in honey. The corruption bled upward along the roots holding it in place, darkening the magic that kept it suspended.

Yet, amidst the shadows of hopelessness, a flicker of desperate determination glimmered in the eyes of Hailey. Hailey stepped forward, her hands trembling ever so slightly as she first carefully collected the small, black, pulsating heart in her outstretched palms. It was a heart torn from the one that cast the incante. Its rhythmic beat pulsed in her hands, a testament to the life that had once flowed through it. It wasn't at all what she meant, but spells were fickle like that, so long as it was a heart, it could work.

She poured every ounce of her purification light into the obsidian. ​A crack formed. Then another. ​With a sound like a shattering glacier, the obsidian bars burst outward. Elara dove into the chest cavity. ​Inside, the world was a nightmare of shifting shadows. Thick, pulsing veins of corruption hung from the ceiling like weeping willow branches. In the center of the chamber floated the Heart. It was a jagged, pulsing diamond the size of a carriage. It held a swirling, black smoke. That smoke had a face.

Celea asked " To be able to take that throne you will have to be the strongest, only than will you be able to rule hell " Leviathan also joined the conversation " But isn't he supposed to fight Lucifer for that ? " Celea asked again " Not necessarily. There is a cristal glob on the highest point of this palace, it's called ' the heart of hell ' if you touch it, it will be able to see if you are the strongest, if you are, you rule this hell but if your not than that cristal isn't going to be very friendly with you, it will electrocute you,putting in immense pain"

Oscar, Oscar. 'Listen to the heartbeat, Casey. Listen to it... find it. Start believing, for fucks sake!' Another jolt hit us, and our legs buckled, the pain burning. Burning. I was burning. I could feel the fire, heat radiating out from my core and somewhere, somewhere, I could hear it. So faint, so distant, like a drumbeat. What was that? The water rushed forward again, a tide, drowning out the noise. We would prevail. We would kill the human, we would drain Helel, we would let the talitha come into this world and we would feast... we would... we would...

“Tell me. It’s frustrating that I could feel your uncertainty, but I can’t read your mind.” “It’s just… What if you change your mind?” I traced the neckline of his black cashmere sweater. “I can’t really rely on your words, you know. You changed your mind too many times since we met.” “I know.” He grabbed my right hand, pressing it right where his heart was. “But do you feel that?” I nodded, bewildered at the thumping beneath my palm. It’s interesting when every lore I’ve read spoke of vampires as undead, without a heartbeat. And here he is, a vampire with a beating heart.

Something was wrong. Cass slid out from under the covers, moving like a shadow. Her steps carried her down a side hallway, following a faint noise—muted, like a struggle pressed into velvet. It grew clearer the closer she came. A muffled thud. A harsh exhale. Then, silence again. Cass pressed her palm to the wall, heart quickening. She wasn’t supposed to be here, wasn’t supposed to hear this. But she couldn’t turn back now. The door at the end of the corridor was ajar, darkness bleeding out into the hall. Inside, something shifted.

“That’s what makes you dangerous.” The compliment shouldn’t help, but it does. The next chamber glows red. Dozens of veins converge at its center, forming a massive, beating heart suspended by tendrils. Every throb shakes the air. A small stone altar sits beneath it, carved from bone. The Maze whispers again. “The heart must drink.” Maeven’s hands tremble. “It’s asking for more than blood.” Dax scowls. “How much more?” Kael’s voice is quiet. “Life.”
