Rieka’s POV Memories of long ago slam into us quickly. The images of a time long forgotten flash through our minds like a movie playing on fastforward, the images moving through too fast for me to latch on to any of them. The blast of memories becomes too hard for Jamari to withstand and I can feel her slowly slipping away from consciousness.

Aurora “Are you okay?” I didn’t fully understand what had just happened. My chest still felt tight, my breaths shaky, but my mind was racing with one thought: That was a memory. A memory of my past.
