PATIENT ZERO -The lone survivor
The white light died.
Baraka placed two fingers against the battery housing of her collar. He summoned the localized kinetic static—the subtle, vibrating friction of the Star-Code. It was a surgical application of power, entirely different from the raw, explosive force he had used in the Dead Zone. He pushed the electromagnetic pulse into the metal. The circuitry hissed, a wisp of acrid black smoke curled into the air, and the collar clicked open, falling harmlessly to the ground.
Baraka moved immediately to the unconscious, granite-skinned giant. He applied the same static shock to the third collar. It popped open with a metallic clack.
