She hissed again and walked away fron the living room. Jade was mentally exhausted and only fell to the floor because her stability was gone. She had promised herself that no matter what, she wasn't going to break down. She wasn't going to let them see her tears. For the next few hours, she would be strong enough for her battles She rested her bag against the wall and lay on the cold floor with her phone. She replied a few messages from Jace and Mara. When the room became suffocating a bit for her, to release the tension, she decided to take a walk.

I had barely taken two bites of my sandwich when someone dropped their bag onto our table. “Morning, losers.” Jordan. She slid into the seat across from us like she belonged everywhere. Black bomber jacket, ripped jeans, chain around her neck. Her hair was cropped short and styled sharp, like she was auditioning for a magazine cover. Lily sat up straighter immediately. Too straight. “Morning,” I said around a mouthful of food. Jordan smirked at Lily. “You look tired.” “I—what? No, I don’t.” Lily’s cheeks turned red instantly.

Jordane bit her lower lip and was about to open her mouth when Livvy beat her to it. “Let’s go,” she chirped excitedly. Jordane shook her head, grinning while she took the time to get out of bed. Glimpses of the vision she had earlier appeared before her, halting her progress briefly. Livvy caught on, immediately catching Jordane before she could fall. “Whoa,” Livvy placed a hand on Jordane’s back, supporting her. “I think you should sit this one out, Jadie.” Jordane shook her head, closing her eyes momentarily before blowing out a determined sigh.

Chapter 12: Public Embarrassment Landon and Jade’s pov The soft glow of morning sunlight streamed through the large floor-to-ceiling windows of Landon’s penthouse. Jade was sprawled on the plush couch, her swollen belly prominent as she sipped on freshly squeezed orange juice. Landon sat opposite her, his face buried in financial reports, but his attention drifted each time Jade shifted uncomfortably. “Can I get you anything else?” Landon asked, his voice laced with concern.

He gave me a curious look before stretching. "I guess we should get Jade here. Need the crazy nightcrawler to give a little life to this room." He teased just as he said her name. Jade appeared in the centre of the training room. She sat on the floor, her legs crossed and her hand resting on her thighs. Jade's eyes were closed as she let out an annoyed sigh. "Always interrupting my afternoon meditation, kid. You're going to get your ass kicked for that." She muttered, but her slight smirk betrayed her annoyed demeanour.
