The streets passed in a hasty blur, Zoe unable to tear her gaze from his hooked grin. The car pulled into the lot and Jon stepped out, adjusting the sleeves of his shirt as he wandered around to her door. As she slipped from the sleek leather seat, his hand found hers once more, leading her, with a proud smile etched on his handsome face, to an antiquated pier. The water swelled beneath it, sloshing loudly against the wood pillars of the jetty. A large boat was docked there, a series of small windows warmly lit up along the gunwales.

He didn’t want another PA. Jake got back to the boat in the early morning, a long drive from a passing farmer he managed to flag down and then having to persuade a boat trip out to the moored yacht from a local when he got to port. Not having his phone or any form of money on him had been brutal, but he was glad to be finally climbing the silver ladder onto the back deck of the boat. Hunter was being kept in for forty-eight hours to make sure he would have no lasting effects and some minor antibiotics to make sure he didn’t catch any bugs. He would come back to the boat in due time, so Jake was happy to leave him. Seeing one of the crew approaching at his arrival he beckoned him over.

JP spend the day buried in his work trying to distract himself from thinking about the children that might be coming. But evening came sooner than he wished it to and a mind link from the warriors came telling him that the Jaguar shifter has dropped two children off at the border. JP’s heart thundered in his chest.

I couldn’t help that my greedy eyes set on a ridged abdomen that looked like it had been carved into stone by the hands of Aphrodite.

"Alexander! Over here!" He turned to see a small, battered fishing skiff pulling up to the edge of the pier. Jax stood at the helm, his face illuminated by the glow of a dozen salvaged tablets strapped to the console. Beside him sat a portable server rack, the "Shadow-Shell" humming with a frantic, desperate energy. "Get in! Now!" Jax shouted.

“I can’t leave him to go jetting off to Colorado.” “Can’t you put him in a kennel?” Jackie said. “Oh God, no. He likes being in home like surroundings and I would worry about him at a kennel,” Patty said. Rufus was her baby. “I’ll keep him. When are you going?” Carter said. “Tuesday,” Jackie said. “We’ll be back the following Tuesday.” “I can’t go. I only own two sweaters and one turtleneck,” Patty said. “Again, there are stores,” Jodi said and intertwined her fingers.

It was a modified Ford Raptor, its chassis ridiculously high, the whole vehicle a matte black, looking like an armored beast straight off a battlefield. The engine roared as we sped down Route 66. The wind was strong, carrying red dust. Jasper steered with one hand, the other holding a half-smoked cigar, casually resting on the open window. "See that dry river valley over there?" He pointed with his cigar to the red rock walls outside the window.

At that moment, she knew there would never be anyone else for her but him. All too soon, the taxi stopped in the loading zone and the driver set their bags on the walkway as Zain paid him. A porter with a broad smile and bright white teeth approached. “So, where to?” “I’m going to Knoxville, and he’s going to Los Angeles,” Jasmine replied. The porter’s smile faded. “I see.” He lifted his chin. “May I see your tickets to make sure I get them on the right flights?” “Yes, of course,” Zain replied, clearing his throat. He wiped a tear away from his cheek as he showed the porter his ticket and the porter looked up at him sympathetically.

It was a shame I had a lot I was leaving behind but this fight wasn't mine to fight. The port was normally very busy, but something felt odd as soon as I drove inside; it was noon, and the sun was high in the sky. Vehicles were moving to and fro with several containers being off-loaded. The ship I was joining was going to be a large general cargo carrier. Jake parked the car and we started to proceed to the loading area. "You will have to bear for a month until it gets to the next port. I have connections on board and everything will be fine." He assured me. He wasn't doing this because of any fondness, but because of the money, I have been giving him.

“it’ll work… it has to” Just then her phone rang, it was her assistant telling us the jet was ready to go. “Alright Arian, let’s go fix your pack problems, then I have to come be a CEO” She said, and shut her laptop down.
