Lyon, knowing how the story goes in normal books, seems to blissfully listen as the professor explains the knowledge he has. According to the books taught in school, there was once a human who threw his humanity away to make a deal with the devil. The deal was that the human would be capable of using magic but in exchange he was tasked to collect 5000 pure souls, the human obliged with the devils request. He was then later known to be the Demon Lord Abaddon, who laid waste on those who stood against him. The story in the normal academic textbooks about the History of Magic was contradicting every paragraph as to why professors tend to bend the story a little to their amusement.

"Human... how are you..." Lucien Desrosiers, the Demon King of the dark court, took one stunned step back. The noise behind him died at once. The hall was packed with elders, guards, and newly chosen sacrificial consorts, yet everyone seemed to forget how to breathe. Someone whispered, "She is not afraid of him? The Demon King's whole body carries the lust-curse. Any woman who gets too close starts collapsing within three seconds. Why is she fine?"

Lord Cedran asked, though he looked like he didn't want to know. "The third one lasted the longest. Five years. They say she went mad from the things he did to her. Found her hanging from the castle rafters with her own bedsheets." Renwick's voice was flat now, emotionless. "That's who we're dealing with. Not a man. Not even a king. A demon who feeds on suffering." The silence that followed was absolute. Several council members were openly weeping. King Aldric felt like he might vomit. "So what do we do?" Lord Thalen asked desperately. "There has to be something…."

“I don’t know, but I intend to find out. By the way, if Sidon Andago’s not your father, you can petition for the royal guardianship, and nobody could marry you off without the king’s approval.” “But?” “Should there be a ‘but’?” I mocked her. “You girls are so distrustful. Crazy!” Her answer was hissing and a small punch to my ribs. Hey, I’m a terrible demon, mind you! You ought to be afraid! “You’ve said it yourself—nothing’s ever unambiguous with demons.” How insolent! She remembered that I was a demon, but didn’t get the memo that she shouldn’t attack me. What is the world coming to?

As he says, a strand of darkness and despair hangs onto his words. Maybe he never wanted to be born as a demon.

Sybil felt a little sick at the idea of being happy at killing something so innocent. “Are you sure you know what this is?” She nodded. Clearly the demonic had a serious issue going on at the moment. This war being fought, it was with truly evil creatures. “A demon, and the only kind of spider demon I can think of that meets what I feel and see is the Jorogumo. I’ve only heard, never seen nor dealt with something of that caliber. From what I know it’s a female demon and she is a high level one.” Aries jaw clenched slightly and he looked really dark.

I was shocked by the level of jealousy that overcame me. With a burning acid in my stomach it clawed at my throat. I detested this emotion.
