I didn’t know why, but I suddenly felt worried and walked towards the door, still somewhat groggy. “What’s wrong? What happened?” I asked in surprise. “I’m scared of your mom’s face. I didn’t know she looked so stern. She hasn’t said anything yet, but my legs are shaking. She looks even more intimidating and snobbish than my mom.” I could feel Kate’s trembling hand. After confirming the ghost wasn't there, Kate continued, "She keeps coming at me. She smiles at me, but she looks scary. She looks scary, she looks bloody, and she must hate me. Yes! She comes to kill me!” Suddenly, Kate looked hysterical as she used both hands to grip her blonde hair by the back of her head. She looked completely frightened as she once again glanced around her, and she once again screamed as if she saw something again. The most troubling situation now is that my boyfriend and his brother are part of this case. “You will be meeting Kate tomorrow right?” I asked, he just nodded. I know that he himself is troubled by the recent developments in the case and Winster county in general. “We will pull through this baby”, I said “thanks dear” he replied. Kate’s POV This is probably the longest night I have ever had, afraid of the unknown or some shadowy figure or gargoyles emerging from the wall and eating me up. Finally I was woken by the emotional call by someone. “… he went into shock…” I heard in my sleep, “who is there I asked?”

How the hell was it even possible? I turned toward Osiris as he asked icily. “Is that what you saw, Kate?” The sensation of a trapdoor opening in my belly shook me to the core. Fear crawled beneath my skin. “Yes.” I barely recognized my own voice. “That’s the same rod. The shadow was using it on your mom.” My gaze remained locked on it helplessly.

“How do you want to make her pay?” Don kept quiet and watched her like it was the first time he was seeing her. “You think Riley fears you?” Katherine asked in a teasing voice, her eyes gleaming. “She doesn’t. She fears me.” Don gave her a skeptical glance, “excuse you?” “She doesn’t fear men,” Katherine said, her voice low. “She controls them. Breaks them. You know who she fears…women who she has put through hell but still come out victorious. Those women threaten her.”

The doorbell rang and I ran to get it, needing to be out of the room, I didn’t really like being around the two of them together, it was kind of awkward. After the food, Kate put on the stupid scary movie. I sat next to Liam. Which meant that Jake had to sit next to Kate on the other sofa - much to his obvious annoyance. The movie was awful; Liam slung his arm casually over the back of the sofa and was playing with my hair discreetly which made it slightly more bearable. About half way through I was honestly so scared that I scooted right up next to Liam and buried my face in his chest. I could feel Jake shooting daggers over at us but I couldn’t help it.

He didn’t stop there as he said, “It is your word against mine, sweet Kate. And no one gives a fuck about what a nobody like you has to say.” She could already see the judging faces of Sarah and the rest of the family who have always thought she was the worst human to ever walk the earth. She could hear their voices, their shrieks, the scornful laughter as they called her names. “I wonder what Damon himself would have to say about that when he finds out.” The words were like additional salt to her wound. Damon said. I scowled at him. “What are you saying?” “I mean you kill people in front of Miss Morelli almost every single day back when she was still here. And then all of a sudden, you appeared on a TV show and made that announcement! I could only imagine the terror she must have felt when she watched that. Poor human.” I shook my head. “Kate was smart enough to know that those people deserve to die, Damon. And she does not know fear. If she gets terrified, then that would not be Kate. That would be a… unicorn.”

"Not when the person is a liar. " Kate's expression morphs into one of astonishment. "A liar? " she scoffs. "I'm not a liar. " "You're not afraid of a berserker. " I comment. "I was terrified. " She supplies. "Terrified enough to form a pact. " "You're the one who should be questioned." Kate yells. "I had no where to go. " "Yeah right. " "You're crazy. You should be dead." She hit a me against my chest.

Was it just my imagination, or was there a faint growling sound coming from deep within Kate's throat? I leaned in closer to listen, my heart racing with fear. Suddenly, Kate's eyes snapped open, glowing bright yellow in the dimly lit room. Her transformation was complete, and I knew that I was no match for her in this state. But to my surprise, she didn't attack. Instead, she locked her gaze onto mine, and I could sense a mixture of anger, confusion, and...was that love?
