"I can change back! I can fix it." I offered a slow shake of my head. "Not every broken thing in this world can be repaired." My cab pulled up to the curb, and I reached out to pull the door open, sliding into the back seat. Tristan stood frozen outside the vehicle, suddenly reaching through the open window to thrust the premium designer shopping bag toward me. "It's raining." I cast a brief glance out the window. The sky had indeed turned incredibly dark and overcast, but the first drops of rain hadn't even begun to fall yet.

I arranged an ambulance and showed concern about his condition, but deep down, I was proud of my mate. She came up with a better idea to teach that bastard a lesson. Now, Jace was in the operation theater, surgeons fixing the damage efficiently. But there wasn’t a chance in hell he would regain his functioning organs back. After all, Jace was in my territory. A cold smile touched my lips as I glanced at Dr. Karev. “Kate is a Luna, the shadow of the moon goddess. Of course, she knows better.” Then I asked the question that was bothering me.

Kath muttered weakly, wincing from the pain. "How did you end up here?" Bellatrix asked, her curiosity evident. "My own sister, Keona, destroyed my life. Blaire and Alexa, her friends, pushed me off the cliff for the second time." "The second time?" Bellatrix raised a questioning brow. "Keona has planned to get rid of me more than once." "Oh, you poor thing. I’m sorry my house is a bit shabby, but we’ll move somewhere better soon," Bellatrix said, noticing Kath’s confused gaze as she looked around. Kath simply nodded.

"You still think Skye's just some regular programmer?" Edward's tone was sharp with disbelief. "She's a top-tier hacker I managed to bring back through old connections! Letting her date you back then was me doing you a favor." Julian froze for several seconds, stunned speechless. When he finally found his voice again, it was full of incredulity. "Her?!" "Yes, her!" Edward barked, his patience gone. "Skye was the best match I could've arranged for you, and look what you've done! You went and got another woman pregnant—what a disgrace!"

"Jeff? Is he your husband?" "No, he's a stranger." With those final words, Cecilia stood up and walked out without looking back. Zephyr City was known for its endless rainy days, and today was no different. Cecilia walked through the rain with her head held high, quickly vanishing into the crowd. Goodbye, Zephyr City. She had no ties to that place anymore...

It just kept moving. Kate had made a mistake. She had sent that video to Skyler expecting it to shatter something. Expecting the marriage — contract or otherwise — to crack under the weight of it, the way structures crack when you find the right pressure point and push. What Kate had miscalculated, because she had never truly known how to read people who weren't like her, was what Skyler Miller was made of. She hadn't shattered. She had walked into my office, placed a letter on my desk, and when I asked her to stay, she had sat down and looked at me with those clear, direct eyes and told me exactly what she needed.

She wasn't exceptionally beautiful, petite in stature, yet her sharp wit was evident. Joyce didn't want to engage in further conflict with the girl. What about his injured hand? Celina's gaze shifted to Joyce's outstretched hand, noticing his injured hand. She worriedly exclaimed, "Your hand isn't bleeding anymore. Wait a moment, please." Joyce gave a cold smirk, not intending to wait for the girl. However, Celina's feet seemed to move as if powered by a motor, as she quickly returned with a first aid kit in hand.

Adrian took me to a large building that smelled of horses. Inside was a beautiful huge riding arena and rows of stables. “Aricela?” He called. A pretty blonde popped up from behind a friesian who was chilling in his stable. She smiled sweetly at Adrian but scowled when she spotted me. “Oh. You brought one of the dogs.” “This is Kate. She does… horse things. I thought she could take Misty’s spot.” “I really do need to replace Misty. Get Vanilla ready. Everything’s labelled. Bring her into the arena and I’ll test you.”

Silvia POV Esme had called us the apex predators. But looking around the Diner at 11pm on a Thursday night with the rain falling outside and me, Fulvio and Esme standing anxiously waiting, I don't feel like an apex anything. Luka had begged to be allowed to come with us but in this Esme and Valerie had been in agreement. Absolutely not! Not until we knew what we were dealing with. The night sky is cloudy, covering the crescent moon. I wonder if my plan wil work. I pray to the Goddess that it will. And then I prayed that it won't. What will I be starting?

Kate says strongly. “You are right. I am seeing Jared shortly. I will give him my ultimatum and see where that lands me. If I get rejected, I might need to borrow you from Colby for a girl’s night,” I chuckle. Kate laughs, “Colby would understand, Lily,”; looking at Kate I ask, “Is it really as amazing as they say when you are with your mate, Katie?”. “It’s even better Lily, and you deserve all of it and more!”.
