It was Xavier, the son of Omari, the eldest member of our pack. Xavier left his car and walked toward me as I left mine. “Molly Lancaster,” he grinned. “Where are you going? And who are you dating now? If I may ask. Is it Blake or Kelvin Peters?” “Kelvin is dead,” I retorted. “Not that it should be any of your business.” His eyes widened, and he tried to look away. “Dead? What happened to him? Was he killed?” “Again, not that it should be any of your business,” I snapped. “But he was killed in Westview on the blood moon… It's-- a long story.”

However, not everyone had been slow to react as Kade eyes moved faster than ever, sensing all of Xer's movement from the moment he ran on the rooftop. He had sharper senses that others. His instincts reacted faster than thought itself. He immediately began moving, his feet pounding light on the ground as he dashed after Xer. Xer ran like the wind, his black clothing blending perfectly with the night, making him look more like a moving shadow than a man. But Kade did not lose sight of him, his eyes shone yellow as he activated his eye sight, making it easier for him to see Xer clearly. Xer dashed through a very dark corridor as a means of escaping.

"A Mother did." I turned toward the central pit. The mirrors were gone, shattered into a thousand pieces. In the center of the room, chained to a silver-lined slab, was Killian. He was human. His massive, black-wolf form was nowhere to be found. He lay on the slab, his skin pale and translucent, his ribs standing out sharply against his chest. His hair was white, not the blonde of a human, but the dead-white of a man whose soul had been bleached by the sun.

She nodded her head over to Killian and we once again returned our gaze to the Boss. Killian didn't say anything for a few moments. He continued taking a sip of the coffee from the mug, and the living room went as quieter than it should. Was he pissed? I don't give a fuck if he was anyway—they called mortals slaves, even though I would have to agree some humans were disgusting, no way would I be called a fucking slave! "Ronan," Killian called as he slowly took the mug away from his lips. "Do you want to go to hell again to experience how it feels to burn?" His gaze was on the guy on his left side.

The scar on his eye was angry red. Behind him stood Damian. Her murderer. Her fiancé. Seeing him made Arielle’s blood boil. The Void surged. Kill him, it whispered. Rip his throat out. I looked up at his face and cringed. His skin was the tannest I'd ever seen, his blue eyes sharp and cold. He had a half sun tattooed on the side of his face, stretching from his right temple down to the tip of his jaw. "Where are you headed?"

Lexie's heart pounded so loud, she was sure Killian could hear it. She wasn't a novice sexually, nor was she timid, but this was the boldest thing she'd ever done.
