Maybe because we were together almost everyday, and he was the first person who easily understood me. Xander is somehow different from him. He was serious and a gentleman. He will always agree with me. He would never argue with me. Kyle was funny and honest. If he thinks I'm wrong, he will tell me I made a mistake. He always has a say in everything I do that sometimes leads to an argument.

Evelyn's POV "I, Alpha Kyle Turner, reject you, Evelyn Sanders, as my mate." Alpha Kyle hoarse voice boomed in my ears making me freeze on my tracks, his voice laced with disgust. Crack! A cracking sound resounded inside my body and I felt as if a part of me was forcefully torn and taken away. My wolf howled in pain but there was nothing I could do about it. Tears flowed down my face as the pain became immeasurable, increasing with each second to the point I was unable to tolerate it. I could care less about the gazes on me. I was already used to it.

Xander drives to his best friend’s house. Kyle and Xander were born on the same day and have been inseparable ever since. It’s always been the four us with the occasional fling attached. “Who is ready for senior year,” yells Kyle as he hops in the car. Kyle is sporting his football jersey along with Xander. Skye and I are in our cheer uniforms as today we will be having a prep rally to celebrate the first day of school.

Ever since I started telling Christine about my older boyfriend, ‘Jack,’ it’s only seemed to make her angrier and more judgmental, like I’ve disappointed her somehow by not dating a pathetic teenage pothead like she is. We’re sitting on the benches out front of the school with vinyl shopping bags full of crap from our lockers when Kye and Eric stroll up to us, looking cocky and confident. They must be the two tallest guys in our school.
