I was sitting in the waiting room and praying to God. I really hope I get this job. Joseph Lachlan needed a personal assistant. As soon as I read this advertisement in the newspaper I knew that it was my only chance. The pay will obviously be good considering the fact “The Lachlan Enterprises” was the most successful business empire in the world. At the age of 75, He didn’t work much. His grandsons did everything but never took any credit. Thankfully my best friend was married to one of his grandsons due to which I got this interview.

The remaining Councillors voted Lucien as the next High Lord after Stefano’s father retired. “What are you doing here, Lucien?” Stefano asked, heading to the bar in the corner of the living room to pour himself a glass of wine. “I see that you keep the place intact,” Lucien said, continued to look around the portraits on the walls of the living room. His strong French accent indicated he had been spending time in France. Lucien was never the type who stayed in one place permanently. After the wars stopped, he began to travel around, adapting more cultures and languages.

I raised my left eyebrow, glaring at his cold yet undeniably handsome face. "Whoops!" He immediately took his hand off my shoulder. "You two! What are you waiting for?" The man nodded and left in a hurry. Lucien glanced at Oceane- who felt a little uncomfortable at the set up. He then glanced at the two couples- who were just minding their own business, “Oh right! I still haven’t introduced you to each other.” Lucien interrupted the two. “Baby, this is Alexander, my cousin and this woman beside me is Mademoiselle Xu, she is dating Alexander. And Alexander, Ms. Xu, this is Oceane- my fiance.” Lucien introduces and Jingfei instantly bowed her head, “I know you already but it is a pleasure to know you personally.” She uttered to Oceane.

Elizabeth’s mouth dropped open at the sight, he was magnificent “Hi, my name is Lucien and I am so sorry.” “It’s alright, you apologized and that is what matters" “It is really nice to meet you Miss…” “Elizabeth” “Miss Elizabeth, I am Lucien like I said earlier. Lucien Rodrigues.” He said, extending his palm for a hand shake. Lucien Rodrigues, most definitely related to Jason whom she had just finished speaking with. Damn!

Her nostrils flared and her brows knitted. Lilly stood there nervously as guilt rushed through her veins. Her brown waves covered half of her face and her emerald eyes were lowered. "What are you doing here ?" Champagne stood up harshly and the chair scraped against the floor making Lilly take a step back. "I..." Lilly lifted her head to explain and finally her sister noticed the scar on her face. It was vertical across her cheek with blood dried on it. Champagne's eyes roamed all over Lilly's body, she had on a blue sundress that was all dirty and her body was covered in scratches.

I miss Hunter and Alyssa day by day but I know it's for the best. I feel bad for lying to them all, but I had to. Today's Wednesday and Mr. Dechart is coming to get his money. All I wish is that I could've found a legal way without having to borrow money from anymore people. I didn't want to take money from my brothers or my children but they are stubborn and won't take no for an answer.
