More so, Rain’s true identity is what I intend to keep safe. If anyone finds out what she really is, her life will be in danger. I venture into the library where I start digging about the lycan species. Down to a hundred books of old, I find nothing about them. The library was littered with books, dust clouding the air. I need to find something. If Rain is a Lycan as Ryat said, that means she’s more powerful than I am. I move the ladder to the other side of the floor-to-ceiling shelf and sift through the books until I see something.

I grabbed one of the books I had taken from the archives — one of the many I had collected in my quiet search for answers — and flipped it open. My eyes skimmed over the ancient writings, desperately hoping to find something useful. Something that would give me even the smallest hint about what they were hiding from me. The book spoke of lycans and their nature. I read that lycans could transform into their beast forms at will, which I already knew. But then I saw something that caught my breath — their powers were amplified during the full moon, making them nearly invincible, immune to any form of magic. However, there were rare cases.

I began pacing frantically around the room. Damn that wench for making me feel this way, I have been going crazy out of my mind since the day she left it was almost like she casted a spell on me. "I have thought about maybe involving the council, but I am thinking of the consequences of such action. We don't want an enemy of the Lycan king," He replied, I glared at him in disgust. What a coward I have as a beta.

“You will regret this, Annatoria” Resisting the desire to roll my eyes because her roundabout talk was too vague, I said, “If you expect me to take you seriously, then tell me what you know about the Lycan. What is he hiding?” “I…” Lyra lowered her head and pulled her hands into fists. “I can’t. He has ears all over. He might be listening right now.” The downcast in her voice made me think about the rumour Kaelen talked about. It was starting to seem very possible that I would be a sacrifice at the end of the day.

Laura sneered at me. “Mercy, it’s the game. You have to let it go—” John started, but I wasn’t listening to him. My eyes were on Laura who had this triumphant look in her eyes as she giggled. With a loud cry, I got up, aiming to lunge towards her evil grinning face. “You monster! I’ll kill you!”

Darren shifted out of instinct, his legs turning into hinds of a dastardly dangerous bipedal beast. In a matter of minutes, Darren turned into a man-wolf, appearing dominant and awry... A vivid painting of a legend, a myth told over centuries of existence. The first generation of the cursed race of moon howlers... A true Lycan! He nimbly lept on a wall, causing a loud bang and climbed the building to the top with his sharp claws. The walls sustained marks, causing several bricks to break in and fall, but Darren didn't mind. In fact, he only acted out of instinct now as he'd lost all rationality.

"Why would Lycan want to see you?" Fiona asked me, a frown etched on her features. I thought of saying the truth, but but I couldn't imagine what to do if they know I have something with lycan. If I told the truth, would they want to get involved with Lycan. Or could kill me if he found that I'd tainted his image. After all, no one would want to get involved with a slave, right? The strange man cut in, "Lycan is interested in miss Sheila after their meeting last night," He paused to raise one brow, his face cold and blank as he stared right at her, "do you have a problem with it?"

Joan argues. "Sure" Jade rolls her eyes playfully, her fingers stop when she spots a particular book, taking it out from between the books, she looks at its cover. The cover held the image of a full moon, with a huge figure, what appeared like a Lycan with its head raised upwards in a howl. It was a book on Lycanthropy, covering almost all topics related to Lycans, their origin, purpose, mates, everything was showed in the content section. Jade decided to take the book.

Countless shelves lined with weathered books and scrolls stretched into the distance, promising untold secrets and forgotten wisdom. They made their way through the labyrinthine aisles, their eyes scanning the titles and searching for any mention of Lycans or black magic. Dust danced in the rays of sunlight that filtered through stained glass windows, lending an ethereal quality to their journey. Finally, they discovered a section dedicated to ancient legends and forbidden knowledge. The books here were wrapped in worn leather, their pages delicate and yellowed with age.
