“I raised her when her mother passed.” I looked at her for a moment, her eyes holding more pain than she would have wanted to show. “The maid who told Giovanni what happened to her,” she said quietly. “Her name is Miri. She’s new. Too eager to please the wrong man. I believe this would enough information for you to get what you want.” I nodded slowly. “Thank you.” She looked down at Lysandra with sorrow. “She used to be proud. Fierce. Like her mother. She used to be willing to fight, to stand. She is not weak. I know what I raised. And I know who I raised.”

They all had the tattoos of The Mianka. Their hair was well cut, and their nails were not the rough shapes of low-ranking men. I dragged the knife along the skin of the man closest to me. His skin opened up, blood staining him red. He screamed, blubbering words that made no sense. “What’s your name?” I whispered. “Mikos.” He screamed. I pulled the knife away from his leg and stabbed him twice in the stomach. He was sweating buckets, his eyes open as he stared at me blankly, probably expecting I’d torture him for ages before his death.

“Look, you’re mad. Punch me.” “I think getting physical doesn’t suit my temper,” I said. “You’re petty. This is low.” “You haven’t seen her being petty yet,” another voice broke into our conversation. The owner of the voice walked down the stairs, black almond-shaped eyes looked down amused. He was half Korean, nicknamed Misha. His birth name was Gun Min He. He was the oldest member of KJM, having quit the FBI four years ago to work with us. With a lean, muscular figure and a height of about 5’8”, he had a presence that commanded attention.

I groan internally. My name is Mariah Cruz. I'm 17 years old and starting my junior year today. My Father, Mark Cruz, is the current Beta of our pack, The Royal Moon Pack, and my mother, Jennifer Diaz, is the Beta female. My Brother Josh Cruz is 18 years old and a senior in High School. He is training to become the next Beta when our Alpha, Jason Adams, decides to retire and hand the title to his eldest son, Nick Adams. Nick is 18 and is also a senior in high school. He is also my brother's best friend.

My legs felt as if they were not only giving up on me, my lungs were too. “Alpha Aguilar Ivanov.” The man said, and I watched as everyone looked down at their feet before forcing myself to do the same. The Alpha passed us, but I couldn’t help but frown when I noticed that he stopped in front of me. I kept my head down, knowing not to say a word, and it wasn’t until he put his finger under my chin, raising my face, that my vision blurred.

I blinked twice before noticing a tall figure standing in front of me. My house is a massive penthouse in a high-security estate that I own. An enemy walking in might as well be walking to his death. But that didn't stop me from being caught off guard. I sprang from the couch the moment I saw the figure and pulled my gun from the side of the cushions where I traditionally kept one. I pointed it at the man, only to realize it was Williams. I could swear he would have laughed at my reaction if he were my friend. It was embarrassing.

I choked. Nico sucked on his thumb. "My name is Nicola Alecc Lionelli-Montefiore Rivera." He said proudly. "It is nice to meet you, Ijjy." It was adorable how he could say his name so perfectly, but had problem saying mine. I smiled down at him. "It is nice to meet you too, Nicola." He grinned at me, then at Mariano and went with Meela to what I supposed was his room. I didn't have it in me to look at Mariano. His hands fisted in my hair, and he turned my head sideways to make me look at him.

I smiled. “Thank you,” he forced a smile, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “After Allen became one of the most powerful people in The Rodriguez's group, he became untouchable, I became one of the richest persons in the world, yet I still can't get revenge, do you know why?” Micheal said nothing, his brows forming a knot. “He has The Rodriguez's group protecting him, so I can't harm him physically, I can only fight to take the group away from him, but I can't do that alone.”

They lowered their heads and answered, "Yes, Miss Chiba.' The woman in costume turned back and bowed again to the other people in the hall. She said in a sweet voice, "Hello everyone. I'm Chiba Mieko from the Yagyuu family in Japan. Please allow me to apologize for whatever mistakes they made today. Please rest assured. I'll punish them hard as soon as I get back." When she was doing that, the Japanese man stood by and watched. He didn't talk but his face showed his pride. He was the young master of the Yagyuus in Japan, named Yagyuu Hirai.

One of them asked the man in front of me and he nodded before rising to his feet, "For now. Mr. Yuturo will be excited at the progress but the main task is smuggling her out. This is the Devil's City. Sneaking in is easier but leaving, it's suicidal" I initially wanted to remain quiet but their talk was just something I just could bye ignore anymore. "Who are you smuggling out? What the fvck are you talking about?" My ears are not messing with me, right? "Oh..." He cleared his throat and faced me, "Forgive us for the distraction, Princess. I'm Mario Kart, a distant relative of the Di Marco and these are my loyal men. We would spend hours knowing their name so right now I'm the important one"
