I yelped from the impact of a grown man’s full weight hitting my body. Once I recovered, I opened my eyes to see Alex holding an entire bloodied vertebral column with his claws, clearly ripped from the wolf’s body. I instantly pushed the dead man off me and sprinted away as Alex threw the vertebrae away and held off the other three wolves, one of whom looked like he wouldn’t get too far as a bloody puddle formed under him and he eventually turned human, dropping to the ground.

I spoke with a flat tone and watched the colour drain from his face and fear take over. “Kill him.” He shouted as he shifted into a muddy coloured brown wolf. One that was no match for my own. I ran straight for him, shifting mid air into Khaos' huge black wolf. One of the other wolves came at me from the side as Jack went in for my throat. Both were nothing, as I kicked my back legs out at the unknown rogue and heard the snapping of bones as I shattered his jaw. Followed by his yelp of pain. Jack, seeing that he wasn't going to get my throat veered left and jumped onto my back, sinking his teeth into my shoulder.

The details of the lines left behind tell a story of an excruciating battle. ‘Scars?’ I ask Ness. ‘They must be from another alpha. The alpha is the only wolf that can inflict the type of injury that would leave a scar.’ I scan the rest of him, noting the large and thick cock growing between a pair of thighs containing more defined muscle than I have ever seen. I had sat forward, elbows on my knees. “There was none, Alpha. I had them take me to where the wolf was seen, but there was no scent. What are you thinking? Tricks from witches? From the other side, the footsteps grew louder, and then Verina and her pack of monsters came into view. She was floating again, or at least seeming to, wearing that long black robe. She looked menacing, her black hair flying out around her head, even with the hood on, as she came to a stop on the other side of the clearing, about twenty feet from where I’d stopped walking. Around her, at least three dozen dark wolves, their fur black, their eyes red, also stopped, snarling and growling as they crouched down, ready to pounce on whichever of my wolves moved first.

I always wondered why there are no black wolves in the modern world. More precisely, why I have not yet come across one. After all, my inner beast is a black wolf. It was a gray wolf that looked rabid. “The Alpha has arrived,” the young girl said with a sigh of relief. I watched the scene carefully but didn't stop pointing toward the monsters. Izan's wolf didn't hesitate to rip out throats; it looked like a killing machine, so the other wolves attacked the straggling monsters. A group of three monsters tried to corner Izan, so I took aim and killed one. Izan's wolf howled and then slaughtered the other two monsters, biting their hind legs. Its size increased, and I caught a glimpse of the Alpha of Alphas. The wolf was much more hulking and bloodthirsty.

But then, out of nowhere, a massive wolf leaped out from the shadows, blocking our path. It was unlike any wolf I had ever seen—its fur was a deep, unnatural black, and its eyes glowed with a sickly yellow light that made my blood run cold. This wasn’t just a regular wolf. It was one of them. The wolf snarled, baring its teeth in a menacing display as it advanced on us. Quinton shifted instantly, his own wolf bursting forth in a show of strength and dominance. But even he seemed hesitant, the sheer size and power of the black wolf making it clear that this was no ordinary opponent.

They intended to protect me. When the dark wolves started coming out from everywhere like Eric's mom had said, I understood why they were scared earlier and most of what Eric's mom said before. There was an eclipse of the sun that turned the day to night, allowing the monsters to move freely without getting burnt... The dark wolves were unlike any wolves that I'd ever seen before. They were ugly creatures that stood very tall, ranging from seven to ten feet in height, and also built like gorillas My mom and Eric's parents were outnumbered. They had no fighting chance whatsoever against the monsters that had them surrounded. The scene was horrible.
